Purchased this unit on Sunday to power my Bose Free Space 51 and Bose 251 environmental speakers. Awesome, plenty of power for all 4 speakers... Spent the entire day enjoying music in the backyard.

This is one of the best receiver I ever purchased for the money. Cost a little more then the base Insignia brand but is by far better.

Its okay but I would shell out the money for a higher quality receiver. I measured the impedance of my speakers at 4.6 ohms. I then measured the max peak to peak voltage I saw (14.02) at max volume. I converted the voltage to rms (9.92V) then calculated the power (9.92^2)/4.6= 21.37W. Therefore not the best so beware of what you are buying. I have way more headroom in my speakers that is being wasted. I will be upgrading to a different receiver soon.

Needed an inexpensive receiver for the garage to power my patio/pool speakers. Coupled with a set of Yamaha outdoor speakers and my pool was rockin'! More than I expected

Just bought this receiver to push my 30 year old Bose speakers. They still sound great with this unit. I also bought a Rocketfish Bluetooth adapter and easily set up my Mac. Now I can rock out to Pandora on my big speakers. Very happy with this purchase.

I purchased this receiver to replace my 25 year old Sony amplifier. The only reason I was shopping for a new one is that 2 of the speaker jacks have gone bad and I now only have mono sound effect instead of stereo. First thing I noticed was that it is much smaller in size (considerable less depth) compared to my old one. Installtion was easy but the sound was not comparable to my old amplifier. The sound was not as balanced and warm and full as on my old one. I connected my old Sony amplifier again and it sounds better even though it is only in mono. It's going back to the store, I am disappointed in the deterioration of this product over the years.

Turns itself off, making it useless

On impulse, I bought this as an open box unit. No remote or manual were included but I did not know that. I thought it would be cool to add some more bass to my TV. This Sony sat unused for months before I got it set up. It doesn't connect to my my smart tv directly, but I bought an adopter. The sound is great for a while, but the unit powers off on its own. This makes it useless if it will not stay on for a half hour without having to power it back on twice more. It is 75 mile drive to take it in to Best Buy so we will not bother with a $95 unit.

this product is used in a pool house environment which is sometimes very warm and can be cold as well. so far it works when we need it to and that is what makes it perfect!

This was a decent receiver while it worked, but I've had two duds now. The first one worked for less than one week and then it wouldn't turn on. Best Buy was excellent and replaced it with a new one. The replacement worked for about a month and now it, too, won't turn on. If it happened once I'd say it's an anomaly, but not twice. Just about every piece of AV equipment I have is Sony, but this is junk. Sony should be embarrassed.

No power when I hooked up my turntable

I needed a simple receiver to run a CD player and turntable. The tuner worked fine, but the controls were cheap. However this is an inexpensive unit. When I hooked up my turntable there was no power. It played at only a moderately low volume when turned to a maximum volume level.

It's OK-- Except sometimes it won't turn on and I have to unplug it then plug it back in to get it to turn on. Putting a switch at the plug was easier than the hassle of returning it.
Sony's quality has been falling and falling.

Product features a wonderful feature that makes the receiver shut off into "protect" mode once the signal gets a little too large. Very annoying. Getting ready to chuck it out and buy a real one.
