Absolutely Stunning
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This replaced an older 4K 60hz 5 mil response monitor. With some minor tweaking the colors and blacks are simply amazing. Due to the particular game I play the FPS are limited, but I went from 60-61 fps on the old monitor to 90-91 fps. The color rendition makes my game simply awesome. The UHD is another big plus with a little tweek I can now see some detail in the shadow and dark areas, Before it was just simply black and if a foe fired in the dark area I could only shoot at the muzzle blast. Now I can pick up there movements and able to focus fire on them instead a muzzle flash. The monitor is a good bit on the pricey side is its only flaw, IMO it should be in the $600 range instead of the $800.00. It has upped my game so I will continue to procrastinate about the price and at the same time marvel at the beauty of the game being played.

The Perfect PS5 Monitor that also works for PC!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Sony INZONE M9 ll is one of Sony’s newest gaming monitors on the market. It is the successor to the semi-controversial M9 l. I am both a PS5 and PC gamer and honestly, this monitor looks wonderful on both. A PC can take advantage of this monitor's many features compared to the PS5 but the M9 ll is the perfect monitor for the PS5 and does take the win here in my opinion. In this review, I will cover the pros and cons of the M9 ll from using both systems along with other items I found while using it. *TLDR at the bottom ============== IN THE BOX/SETUP: Let’s start with what’s in the box. There is not a lot, but you get a well-packaged M9 ll, a bulky but not abnormally large power adapter and cable, a DisplayPort cable, an INZONE sticker, and some documentation. Can you spot what is missing? If you guessed an HDMI cable, you are correct! I know with the M9 l there were no display cables included but at the least with the M9 ll, they did include a DP cable. I am not a fan of this trend of manufacturers slowly taking away items that have been included before. (blame the smartphones) Regardless, I strongly think an HDMI cable should’ve been included at this price. Setup is all plug-and-play if you want to get into a game quickly. But, if you are someone who enjoys tweaking a monitor’s settings until they are perfect, there are customizable monitor settings available. These settings can be accessed through the monitor itself (joystick on the back, right side) or if you are on a PC, the INZONE Hub app. ============== FIRST IMPRESSIONS: The monitor arrives with this paper strip stuck to the top of the monitor showing some of the key specs which is neat, but the strip did unfortunately leave some residue behind. Once that minor mess was cleaned up, I got a first look at the all-black M9 ll. There is a purple rubber cable management strap closer to the base. The base design is significantly better than what the M9 l had. With this base, I do get more desk space available for my peripherals as well as other items. Ports are hard to get to but fortunately, the M9 ll is flexible on how much it can rotate. The tilt of the M9 ll is also flexible and nice to have if the monitor needs to be mounted to an arm. If you are looking to set this monitor up vertically, unfortunately, this monitor cannot be placed in a vertical position. As for the bezels, they are thin enough to the point where you almost don’t notice them! Overall, I am happy with the design choices of the M9 ll. ============== FEATURES: Let’s start with some physical features. The monitor has an LED on the right side, next to the large power button. This LED can be turned on or off. Above the power button, there is a joystick that can be used to access the OSD menu for the monitor. This monitor also has integrated speakers which as one may have guessed, aren’t the best. The bass is terrible, and the sound is all muffled. But at least they are included. I remember a time when I didn’t have any available external speakers or headphones for my monitor, so it is nice to see at least some integrated speakers were included for those types of folk. Let’s move on to more of the software. If you plan to use this on a PC, I highly recommend the INZONE Hub app. The app allows you to easily access and change the monitor’s settings rather than using the OSD menu. I wish more monitors would have this feature available as it is very convenient. The software will also let you know if your monitor is up to date with the latest firmware. If it is not, the update will need to be downloaded to a flash drive and then go from there. The monitor supports HDR which looks incredible when paired with the PS5. The 160Hz refresh rate is plenty if you plan to use this with a PS5 which supports up to 4k at 120Hz. For casual PC gamers who prioritize quality over performance, the 160Hz max refresh rate should be enough. The 1ms response time is also neat to have as it reduces ghosting which in my time using this monitor, did not see any of it. Finally, this monitor is NVIDIA G-SYNC compatible which was able to help me with smoother gameplay. ============== PERFORMANCE: I will start with the M9ll’s performance with my PC. As a side note, my PC is using an NVIDIA RTX 3070 GPU. Also, to maximize performance, make sure to use a DP cable as well as go to display settings to set the refresh rate to the maximum possible setting. Mine defaulted to 60Hz and I was wondering why for the longest time my monitor was capped at that rate… I was able to play a variety of games on this monitor from story-driven games like Rise of the Tomb Raider and Control to racing games like Forza Horizon 5, and FPS like Destiny 2. All the games I played looked amazing and ran smoothly. But I did have to play around with the in-game settings for each game to optimize my gameplay. I am a quality-over-performance type of person but did attempt to get each game to max out the monitor’s refresh rate. The amount of FPS you are getting can be dependent on many factors, but I was able to maximize the monitor’s refresh rate on most of them at the cost of quality. For example, in Control I was able to hit 160FPS when I changed the resolution to 1080p and set graphics to a lower setting. I also attempted to find the middle ground where I can have the best quality at a decent frame rate which I was able to do. During this time, I was able to truly see the 4k quality of the games I was playing as well as some minor issues. Let’s start with the blacks, blacks look great and not washed out. This was prevalent in Control, which has a lot of dark areas. On the other hand, it seems the monitor struggles with some bright scenes as some of the light in those scenes looks blotched. This was common in TR. Finally, while HDR was on, I felt that the monitor wasn’t able to truly display the true colors of some of the games I was playing. Some colors looked slightly washed out. Finally, as I was playing, my monitor did start to flicker every couple of minutes or so, which wasn’t the case with my previous LG monitor. I had to play around with some settings but was able to get it to stop when I turned off Adaptive Sync in the monitor’s settings which was strange. I know the M9 l had this issue, but I do hope it’s a minor bug or a one-time issue. I am nitpicking minor things here but overall; this monitor works great with PC but a LOT of tweaking will be needed to get games to run to your liking. As for the PS5’s performance and setup with this monitor, it is mostly plug-and-play with some slight tweaks in the settings. Once that’s done, the monitor is ready! I played several games on the PS5 as well. Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart was one of my favorites that I played as the monitor brought out the broad color gamut the display has to offer and the Auto HDR truly did its wonders with this game. The details of the characters stood out and clarity in this game was amazing! Some PS5 games like Ratchet and Clank do not support the higher frame rates so for most of the time I was playing on the highest possible graphic settings (fidelity mode) which did cap my FPS to a lower frame rate which was noticeable but didn’t mind as I enjoy the eye candy graphics that some PS5 games can do. One minor issue I did have with both systems is even though the M9 ll is an IPS display, viewing the display from a slightly different angle will “gray” out your image which is unfortunate since IPS displays are known for better viewing angles. ============== CONCLUSION/TLDR: Overall, this is a solid gaming monitor for both the PS5 and PC. However, from experience these past couple of days, I think the PS5 takes better advantage of this monitor compared to a PC. There are a lot of factors that come into play when pairing a PC with a monitor of this caliber but as of now, I have enjoyed how the PS5 and the M9 ll pair up compared to my PC. As someone who prioritizes quality over performance, the PS5 was able to take advantage of HDR, and the large color gamut that the monitor allows. I also had issues with brighter scenes on the PC compared to the PS5. With all this in mind, if you are looking for a solid gaming monitor for the PS5, I highly recommend you give this one a shot. If you are searching for a monitor for a PC, this monitor is fine if it falls within your budget, but I recommend looking at OLED monitors (like the M10S) with high refresh rates which can be at the pricier end but will provide a better overall experience for you.

Posted .Hi Minh,
Thank you for the review and We are sorry to hear about your experience, this is not the news we want to hear. Make sure that the Adaptive-Sync/VRR is turn on. Go to the gaming assist menu then scroll down and turn it on. Synchronize the refresh rate of this monitor with the frame rate of the video. When turned on, you can suppress the stuttering (lagging) and tearing (flickering) of the screen during the game.
We also recommend using a different high speed HDMI cable to isolate the issue. For us to better assist you, please email us at socialsupport@am.sony.com with the following details:

LOVE This Monitor! Beautiful! Versatility Defined!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While this monitor does have a few things that are nitpicks, overall this is a beautiful display and my review is borderline late from being turned in because I have been Gaming MORE since I got this monitor. It is THAT good. I can’t take myself away from it and it is by far and away the most gorgeous display that I have in the entire house, including my 4K HDTVs, for gaming, watching videos and general computer work. This monitor is like a “jack of all” and it does everything I need it for Very, Very Well. I have my work laptop and my gaming PC now both running on one display and the display is HUGE AND PRETTY! This monitor can easily handle everyday PC work and general tasking but at the same time can get down and put out some really crispy and on point gaming graphics. I didn’t even know my games could look this good or what I was missing until I hooked my gaming PC to this monitor. I had been running a 144Hz, HD display with it but it is smaller and this display when side by side with the other one make the other one look like junk….even if they are running the same specs/speeds. The one thing I do wish it had was a powered USB or USB C port for connecting and charging devices while sitting in front of it. Not a deal breaker but I am under the assumption that previous generations of this monitor did have that ability. This monitor has got tricks! Like a built-in gaming crosshair in both red and green and 3 versions of each! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this feature!!! It lines up perfectly with in-game crosshairs and on games that have ones that are hard to see and do not allow for a color change without running sideloaded software; this monitor solves all of that with these crosshairs. Have I mentioned how much I love the crosshairs? It has an on screen rame rate counter, 24.5 inch mode, motion blur reduction, black eq, response time filters, VRR, a timer. Even the on screen display has adjustments to transparency and how long before it times out. Tons of presets and everything is customizable through the picture menu so I can get the perfect color and contrast and the perfect brightness and settings for no matter what I am doing while sitting in front of it. This monitor can do it all and it is probably capable of doing more than what I have even discovered so far. I am not going to go into the specs and all that because that can be found by reading the product info. I can just give my experience with the unit and I can honestly and truly tell y’all that in my over four decades on this planet that this is the nicest display that I have ever personally owned and have been able to have at my disposal. I thought I had some nice displays until this one came out of the box and got set up. Speaking of that…I LOVE the way this screen’s stand rotates on the bass and the support arm allows it to be raised and lowered AND swiveled so I can get the perfect angle no matter how fidgety I am and no matter where I move, it moves with me. It is really simple to adjust, so much, that I routinely reposition it in the middle of gameplay while in a match as I move around to get more comfortable. I love the joystick control on the rear and how they laid out access to volume, presets, brightness, input sources and the access to the complete menu of settings. All stuff that is super useful and at my fingertips when I need it without having to dig through complicated menus. They did a very good job with the control portion of this also…is what I am saying. I actually like the little purple band that is used for cable management and I wasn’t thrilled about it when I originally was considering this monitor. Once it arrived, and I could see it and work with it, well….now I like it and I’m NOT a fan of purple…but it looks kind of cool. Overall, my complete experience and screen time with this display has been truly awesome and really enjoyable. I have not enjoyed sitting in front of a screen like I have with this one ever in my life. I have even rearranged the house and moved my gaming stuff around so it is on this display and I CHOOSE to sit in front of this display to game rather than lay in bed in and game on my 4K 65 inch like it was. So THAT should say something. If I could figure out how to mount this over my pillows that would be ideal but that is pushing it for me haha. Out of the many reviews I do this has to be one of the easiest to recommend and the most fun I have had with something I have tested and reviewed. If you are looking for your first gaming setup but also do regular work on a laptop or PC and want one monitor to rule them all then this should be on your short list of serious considerations. OH…and it doesn’t run hot either!!!!! The refresh rates and resolution are sublime and while there are monitors out there that do better contrast or better this or better that…personally, I would still get this one because it is SO good at EVERYTHING and 160Hz is “top shelf” stuff as far as I’m concerned. This one is a winner winner chicken dinner and I would easily push people toward it that ask me about a gaming monitor. If you want a spectacular display for gaming, movies or just surfing then this one has something to fit your needs and to be honest…has more than most need, which is nice to have. I love it!

A Great 4K Monitor for PC and Consoles
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently got my hands on the new Sony INZONE M9 II 27" 4K gaming monitor. This is the second model from Sony’s line of the INZONE M9 series. The first thing I noticed compared to the old model is it's a more subtle design, in that it reminds of the PlayStation 4’s aesthetics compared to the original M9 resembling the PlayStation 5. The all black finish gives it a more professional look and feel where you could easily use this in an office environment if you wanted to. But what's really important is how it looks and runs when playing games at 4K. I have both a PS5 and a powerful PC that can easily run certain games at 4K 160 Hz. The visuals on this monitor are incredibly sharp, and the colors are vibrant. Whether I was playing an action-packed game like Ratchet and Clank or exploring a richly detailed open world game like Cyberpunk 2077, everything looked crisp and smooth. The 160 Hz refresh rate is the standout feature. Gaming feels silky smooth, and the 1ms response time means I haven’t noticed any ghosting or blurring during intense games. Fast-paced games, especially first-person shooters like Overwatch or Apex Legends, are a whole new experience coming from my 48in 120Hz 4K TV. I can react quicker, and the precision is just on another level, while also being able to see players in the distance with the clarity of 4k resolution. The 27in screen size is ideal for those competitive games and it comes with an option of reducing the screen size to 24 in. Though, I would not try to turn this setting on while in game, in that the two times I tried to turn it on while in a game the monitor bugged out and lost signal and I had to connect it to my laptop in order to change it back to 27in. So just a little warning if you want to enable the 24in mode make sure to do it while on your Windows home desktop and not in game. The M9 II comes with G-SYNC NVIDIA Adaptive Sync, which allows for VRR, so you can get the smoothest gameplay. One of the highlight features for me is the Full Array Local Dimming. It enhances the contrast significantly, making dark scenes deeper and more immersive without sacrificing detail in bright areas. Though you will get some light bleed in the corners of the screen if you have a dark background that can be distracting if you are looking for it, but for the majority of people this will not be an issue. The HDR support further enhances the experience, with 600 nits of brightness which is pretty standard for a 27in LED IPS monitor, allowing for vibrant highlights that pop off the screen. This monitor comes with 1x DisplayPort 2.1 and 2x HDMI 2.1 ports which is great since I have a PS5, a PC and my work Laptop, allowing me to switch between all three of them on the fly. It’s nice to see that Sony future-proofed this monitor by adding DP 2.1, since current GPU’s currently only have DP 1.4, so this will be good to go with the new GPUs coming out later this year and early next year. A nice addition is this monitor has built-in speakers which is never a bad feature, for those times when you don't feel like putting on a headset if you're just wanting to watch a video or play a casual game where sound isn't crucial. The sound is just ok and I wouldn't recommend using them if playing any competitive game. The stand design is one of the best I’ve come across to date in any monitor and the ability to swivel is something I’m shocked that it took this long to implement into a monitor. The tilt and angle of the monitor is perfect for those sweaty competitive games where you can just get face deep into the game. That being said, if for some reason you wanted to make this monitor vertical that’s not an option here with this stand and you would have to get a Vesa arm, if you really wanted to use it as a vertical monitor. The only thing I would criticize the build of the monitor is the purple rubber band used for cable management. Where you just wrap the cables against the monitor arm and hook in the rubber band. This just seems like a lazy solution and an afterthought to pair with such a great design in the arm itself. Where it would have been nice if they could have hollowed out a hole in the mount to feed the cables through or even just a plastic horse shoe clip that we’ve seen a hundreds of times before with other monitor arms. In terms of customization, the settings menu is fairly intuitive. You can tweak colors, adjust the screen size, and manage various gaming features to optimize your experience with different presets for the type of games you play. Pros: Stunning 4K resolution with vibrant colors 160Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time for smooth gameplay Excellent Full Array Local Dimming for improved contrast Seamless device switching Swivel Stand with great tilt angels Multiple connectivity options, with DP 2.1 and HDMI 2.1 G-SYNC Compatible Cons: Built-in speakers are average Screen light bleed in the corners Can't be turned vertical Overall, I’m very impressed with the Sony INZONE M9 II. It delivers a fantastic gaming experience, blending high performance with stunning visuals. Whether you’re a casual gamer or a competitive player, this monitor is great for both consoles and PC players.

Sharp Picture with Useful functions
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The first thing that caught my attention was the sturdy and efficient stand to mount the monitor on. It was so easy to assemble and, once mounted on the stand, the monitor height is adjusted simply by pushing up or down on the monitor. The monitor itself is light weight, and a little bit thick. The cables conveniently plug to the bottom, so no worries about cables sticking out the back. The monitor comes with built in speakers, which connect via HDMI or DisplayPort. While I tested this monitor with my laptop, I can see the built-in speakers being useful to connect a PS5 or any other game system. The speakers are typical of what you could expect from monitor audio, no bass and not super loud. That said, the volume was satisfactory. Regarding the customization, the built in menu allows for many features. One of my favorites was the built in selectable cross crosshairs. I was using it for fortnite to practice no-scoping. When enabled, the monitor crosshairs stay on always so that, at all times, you know exactly what you're aiming at. Works with any FPS game. Picture quality was fantastic. 4k was sharp, colors were bright and fluid, and black color was very dark, creating a great contrast. The motion blur reduction function worked well for me in testing moving objects, and I saw a noticeable improvement. I would recommend this monitor for gaming!

Sony INZONE M9 II 4K: A Jack of All Trades
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sony Inzone M9 II 27” 4k Full Array LED 4k 160Hz monitor The Sony InZone M9 II 27” 4K Full Array LED 4K 160Hz monitor might be the most complete monitor I have had the opportunity to watch and play. It’s bright with deep blacks, it’s 4K at 160Hz, and it’s fast with a 1ms Grey-to-Grey response rate (the speed at which pixels can change colors.) It also has a wide gamut of color coverage. This is an all around great monitor for PC gaming, console gaming, and with its exceptional color coverage, it makes a great monitor for graphic arts or photo editing. I happen to do all three. It’s also great for viewing movies if you want to slow the pace. *Build Quality/Setup* Out of the box, the M9 II is packed well and I put it together within a matter of minutes. It snaps easily into a circular low profile stand that cleverly allows it to swivel 180 degrees side to side. This is convenient for plugging in cables and actually seeing the ports. Additionally, there’s a vertical travel of approximately 20 degrees and it will lift up and down in the Y-axis about 7 inches. There are 3 slim bezels at the top, left, and right sides. The stand and monitor feel very sturdy and there’s very little wobble. There’s a purple band around the base that allows you to run cables but that’s it for cable management. There’s a power button and a joystick on the bottom right side of the monitor. The power brick can rest easily on the legs of my desk and the cord will reach all the way up to my monitor. With the small circular base, you have ample room for any peripherals. *Connections* There’s a Display Port 2.1 and two HDMI 2.1 connections along with two USB-A and one USB Type B connections. There’s also a headphone jack if needed. Note: There is no USB-C port. *Features* 160 Hz Refresh rate at a 4K resolution is perfect for console or PC gaming. Both of the major console platforms can push 120 fps at 4K. If you have a PC I would recommend a 4080 or 4090 series if you want to reach high 4K frame rates. There is a 1ms GtG response time that’s required for fast FPS shooter games (if you want to be competitive.) The adaptive sync and G-sync helps to remove screen tearing with variable refresh rates. The brightness is superb, peaking at 750 nits. With Full Array local dimming, it helps bright areas stay bright and dim areas go very dark which is typically a challenge for IPS monitors, but the M9 II performs well and edges even closer to OLED quality. There are also two 2-watt speakers that give you sound if necessary (might come in handy for console gaming. *Settings* The Sony Inzone M9 II has a great amount of gaming assist features include Black Equalizer for improved visibility in dark scenes, Motion Blur Reduction for smoother gameplay, and adjustable Response Time for faster pixel response. You can adjust your refresh rate depending on what your needs are. The 24.5 inch mode allows for a more focused viewing experience that some gamers prefer. In the 24.5 inch mode you can also choose where you want the black bar on the screen. Picture Adjustment options include all the standard adjustments as well as Local Dimming, which can be adjusted to Off, Low, or High. Crosshair adjustments and an FPS counter are also available. SDR presets include FPS Moba/RTS, RPG, Cinema, Standard, and sRGB, while HDR presets include DisplayHDR, Cinema, Game, and RPG. Overall, the Sony Inzone M9 II is a well-equipped gaming monitor that can suit a ton of different gaming experiences. *Performance* There’s no backlight bleed around the edges. This is most likely due to the Full Array LED display. This HDR600 display is VESA certified with 10 Bit-Color. This is mid-tier in the HDR world but with HDR600 you have superb brightness and deep blacks. Backlight scanning is also included to reduce motion blur. Personally, I think the Sony Inzone II is ideal for console gaming. You can hit 120 fps and 4K on most games, colors look great, and there’s also sound if you have no other external options. In my opinion, the speakers deliver enough quality for any game or movie. There isn’t a lot of bass but you won’t notice because the mids and highs are adequate. Every game I played on console looked beautiful with no visible motion blur. Depending on which game I was playing I used the presets to match. Excellent V2 of a premium 4k gaming monitor.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Sony Inzone M9 II is a great monitor. With two Display Ports and one HDMI, there are plenty of ports for any of the various devices you may need it for. The unboxing was pretty straightforward with two big pieces of Styrofoam holding everything snuggly in place. The setup was also pretty easy, with the standard monitor arm-to-screen clips. The monitor looks great on my desk with its simple but elegant design, and it looks great next to my other monitor; one I hope to replace with another one of these when I get the chance. I didn’t use the previous model but from what I read, I’m glad they changed the stand design. The 4K resolution is a bit smaller than I’d like but adjusting the zoom fixed that issue. The only other issue I had was with my dual Display Port KVM, the signal was not making it to the monitor until I plugged it directly into my desktop, I suspect due to the refresh rate, so be aware if you use one of those. Overall, fantastic looking and, so far, a performing addition to Sony’s lineup. As for Gaming I played Forza Horizon and while my laptop cannot use the entire 160hz of the display at 4k I did experience a smooth and detailed experience. I can see much more detail compared to the 1440p monitor I had. When I played Fortnite which requires a faster screen. I was again not able to fully utilize the display refresh rate at the native resolution, but it performed flawless, and the detail was amazing. I just feel like finally a screen that is waiting for the next generation of Gaming pcs since there is not much out there that can max this out. That actually makes me feel better about the investment for the future. When I loaded Adobe Lightroom and edited photo’s I found the color fidelity accurate and the accuracy of the SRGB really close to D6500. I was not able to feel like there is a huge difference from the multiple zones this has. I can just say it is a phenomenal picture but when compared to another screen I did not see a huge contrast difference between dark and light scenes. I highly recommend this premium monitor if you want either high refresh 4k gaming or Photo/video editing capabilities. I do however wish it was 32” since it is a 4k monitor if I were to give a con.

Vibrant, fast, crisp
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This monitor literally makes my other monitors pale. The screen is bright, and the colors are vibrant. The design is nice including the decent cable management that comes with the stand, though I did not opt to use the stand as the monitor's back uses a standard vesa bolt pattern for my desk mount. The bezels are at a minimum so it does not add much bulk to my set up which I get the most screen real estate. But who are we kidding-- I don't notice these things when I am playing. What's important is how it shows my game when I am on. 4K on full settings is so beautiful. I can clearly see gravel details, fluttering leaves, the shimmer on chrome and individual hair strands are oh so crisp. I also tried full settings on GTA 5 and I have never seen the game this way. I have only been playing it on 1080p as my video card cannot go on full settings, but just to experience it, even on 2 FPS, I tried to run it on 4K and it is glorious on details. The dynamic range is very wide. I can roam at night in Red Dead Redemption 2 without worrying if someone is stalking me. I can see details in various shades of gray and black. Even on Far Cry 6, where you have the contrast of being out in glaring sunlight but hidden behind trees and bushes-- the colors and brightness alongside the blacks of shadows do not disappoint at all. The flow of dancing fire, upwards smoke and splashing bodily fluids are smooth on 160hz. I did not see any extra artifacts or screen tearing. One of my benchmarks is playing with magic on multi effects like Raid: Shadow Legends, and I see how clan boss activity (like Hydra) where you have small details and multiple things happening at the same time, seem "slow" because the sparkles are actively seen, and not just action blurs. The refresh is FAST and again, I cannot stress how great the screen vibrance is. It just makes everything so alive. I think I want to get a 4090 video card or have more vram for my current 4060 so I can do full-on high FPS on 4K 160hz. Because with this monitor, it just looks so beautiful. I cannot believe I was settling on a mediocre gaming monitor before. My literal view on my gaming has totally changed. I love this Sony InZone monitor!

Best decision ever!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This monitor was an upgrade for me. I purchased 2 of them. I have both monitors connected to my PC with an RTX 4090 and the second monitor is also connected to my PS5 (soon to be PS5 Pro). My monitors before this one were the ASUS VG28UQL1A. I was never happy when I owned the ASUS monitors and always had buyer's remorse but held on to them because there were no other monitors that met my requirements during that time. The ASUS monitors were bright but had washed out colors and was very difficult to calibrate. These Sony monitors are factory calibrated, and I didn't need to touch any of the settings. They look perfect out of the box. My requirements for a monitor are G-sync capable, integrated speakers, 27-inch form factor, and good HDR. The Asus had display HDR 400, and the Sony is display HDR 600. While this is a noticeable upgrade, I do wish the display HDR on the Sony was higher. The Sony has a great picture, and the colors look phenomenal via HDMI and display port. The second monitor is connected to my PC via the Sony's display port 2.1. Unfortunately, the RTX 4090 does not support display port 2.1, so I can't speak to how well it performs. To get the full effect of display port 2.1, you would need an AMD GPU. But the screen and colors via the display port 1.4a looks just as amazing as using an ultra-HDMI 8k cable. FYI, Sony does not provide an HDMI cable with these monitors. You only get a display port 1.4a cable and will need to have your own HDMI cable if that is what you plan to connect with. Sony has software that you can download from their website that will allow you to adjust the monitor settings using your mouse instead of reaching behind the monitor to use the joystick. The software also notifies you when there is a firmware update for the monitor. If you do happen to have an AMD GPU, then you can switch from display port 1.4a to 2.1 via the Sony software and maximize performance with the display port. When I first set up the monitors and downloaded the Sony software, I was notified that there was an update for the monitors. There is a USB update port behind the monitor that allows you to use a flash drive to perform the updates. I have owned the monitors for a week now and I have not been able to successfully update the monitors using any flash drive. I have tried multiple flash drives formatted both NTFS and FAT32 and with different storage sizes. The monitors won't recognize the flash drives. I finally connected an external HDD, and the monitors recognized it but would not take the firmware update. It continued to give me an error message stating that that it was not the correct update even though this is the only update available through the Sony software. I am usually good with trouble-shooting technical issues, but I have not been able figure out why the monitors won't update. A lot of the guidance on Sony's website still refer to the previous model of this monitor. It's possible that the update was also meant for the previous model of this monitor. I have not reached out to Sony for assistance, but I plan to. The integrated speakers on these monitors in my opinion are adequate. I don't require much when it comes to monitor speakers, and my expectations are not that high. If you are looking for studio quality sound, then I would suggest you purchase some external speakers. In regard to connecting the monitor to a PS5, the monitors will notify you that it detected the PS5 and automatically optimizes its settings. I am currently playing Suicide Squad, and I have never seen the colors and the graphics look this good on any game that I have played since owning the PS5. This monitor takes the PS5 and the games you play on it to another level. I have never appreciated being an owner of the PS5 as much as I do now since connecting it to this monitor. I can only imagine what the PS5 Pro will look like when it arrives. I would like to add that no Best Buy location in my area has these monitor on display, so I took a chance when ordering them off the Best Buy website. Since these monitors are so new, there were not a lot of reviews to go off of. I could not be happier. I can say with certainty that I no longer have buyer's remorse about the monitors that I own, and this is the best electronics purchase I have made this year from Best Buy.

High-end Display Designed with Gamers in Mind
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first Sony branded monitor. I've owned monitors from pretty much every other major manufacturer and this model ranks as one of the best I've ever used. Pros: - First, the base design really impressed me. It was easy to install and provides a simple mechanism to rotate the base 360 degrees, raise and lower the display several inches, and to tilt it to your preferred angle. - While this monitor is designed to be paired perfectly with a PS5, I am a PC and XBox gamer. Playing games on both my XBox One X and my PC provided for an incredibly immersive experience. I play a lot of open world games and the landscapes were rendered beautifully, movement was fluid, and the top-notch refresh rate and response time seemed to make a lot of difference. (see photo) - This monitor has onboard speakers! Very few monitors do that these days from my experience and I love the option of playing games without having to wear headphones or hook up external speakers. - The available ports are numerous. Not only do you have the option of a Display Port and HDMI, but a 2nd HDMI port is also included, as are a whopping 4 USB ports. Being able to have 3 devices connected at the same time is a terrific luxury. A headphone jack is also present. Cons: - I'm conflicted with the design decisions for where the ports are located. While they help limit the profile of the monitor by having the ports face downward, it can make it challenging to find the port you want and plug the cord in easily. But once you get everything wired how you like it, you won't have any issue. If you are going to be disconnecting and reconnecting anything often, it could get annoying trying to see underneath so keep that in mind. This is a terrific monitor with high end features that will provide you with extraordinary gaming sessions. I'm very impressed with it.

Nice-looking monitor!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very nice monitor, I love the new overhauled look! This time the design looks simple yet modern, sleek, and classy. I've always felt Dell, HP, and some of the Acers have the best-looking monitors for the same reasons I just mentioned but this Sony one is right up there. The purple neckband gives it a more unique stylish look to avoid looking too generic. Build quality seems good. No noticeable glaring issues build-wise or screen-wise other than the cable of the power brick being somewhat short that I can't place it on the floor so I have to leave it on the desk. At least the brick isn't as huge and heavy compared to original M9 I heard and the lack of a USB-C hub this time around may be why. No audible fan noise, coil whine, or anything like that. It does get warm during demanding use. My monitor's manufacturing date says 7/2024. I never owned the original M9 but I've read tons of reviews about it. So glad they wised up and not repeat the same abominable stand design. Yes, I do realize vesa mount is an option but that's typically for dual setups. Plus, I've always felt removing a monitor's stand strips it of its personality and uniqueness as weird as it sounds. I'm not a console gamer so I have no idea how the monitor performs with it. I'm not sure why it has DisplayPort 2.1 with only 4K/160Hz specs and the cable provided being only 1.4 is just as confusing. Be sure to update the firmware from their website (yes, there already is one). If you're unfamiliar with the process, one tip I can give is to make sure your USB flash drive is formatted in NTFS or FAT32. It won't detect the file if it's in exFAT format. From what I've read, updating the driver download isn't necessary for monitors but I did it anyway and now I get some weird "Device not started (monitor)" line code in the Events tab in the display properties in Device Manager. Not sure what that's all about but it doesn't seem to affect anything. My previous monitor was Acer's gorgeous miniLED monitor with almost similar specs but regrettably returned it due to its buggy firmware where it would frequently reset my SDR picture settings. While the picture quality doesn't come close (miniLED HDR 1000 vs. LED HDR 600), the M9 II is still a big improvement over any non-FALD HDR 400 monitor even though they're a lot cheaper. And lastly, I do appreciate how the M9 II can get dim enough in SDR mode when I'm doing productivity tasks in my dark room and this was very important to me. It's nice not having to use a third party app to dim the screen further. Expensive it may be, Sony has made an overall winner this time and made me a new fan of their monitors going forward.

Great upgrade from the Inzone M9 I
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had my share of monitors and my return rate is decently high, just ask Best Buy but this one is different. I game on both PS5 and PC, have a 3 monitor set up and displays matter to me. I have the Inzone M9 as one of my monitors and I've always liked it with the 4k, VRR, 120fps that I get with my PS5 on it and I saw the new model (this one, the Mark 2) and decided to check it out. My gaming set up also doubles for my work station and I felt that OLED wouldn't work so well for me due to the screen time that I use them and worried about burn in. IPS screens sorta bothered me with their lack of real dark blacks and this monitor is not in that category. The colors are great. Rich, deep color with great black levels, up to 160hz on my PC and 120 on my PS with VRR. The HDR on this monitor is twice as good as the original M9 and actually allows for customization (mostly) in HDR mode. The black equalizer has 10 settings now, motion blur reduction, better response time customization and has a 24.5 inch mode. The only gripe I have is that Sony did away with the RGB light in the back of the monitor, I do have other RGB lights but I liked that the M9 I had it and it's honestly stupid the M9 II doesn't but that's just me. All in all, great monitor for the price that has full PS5 integration and still works great on my PC with 4k. I'm glad I bought it and would definitely recommend to a friend.
