Great addition to my system
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ive used these over the past several days to listen to music and movies from various different formats including 4k DVD, net radio, satellite TV and several streaming sources and these are pretty awesome speakers for their size. They are a bit heavier than i thought they would be, but the output is amazing. I have these paired with a Dolby Atmos compatible receiver and while playing a Dolby Atmos enabled DVD, i could instantly tell the difference. I spoke to a salesman at Best Buy about the benefit of Dolby Atmos and he was all too happy to demonstrate them to me in their speaker room. Based on what he told me, Dolby Atmos is supposed to put out 360 degree sound. When watching an action movie for example, when a helicopter flies overhead, you should actually hear the chopper overhead. I could actually feel and hear the difference with these speakers, just as the guy told me. Now keep in mind, these are only bookshelf speakers so they arent going to provide the sound that a floor standing speaker will but Im replacing a pair of JBL speakers that are half the size of these and they are incredible. Im debating on whether to add another pair of these or make these my rear speakers and get a set of floor standing speakers. If you can, i would go into Best Buy and have them explain the Dolby Atmos process. Im sure i oversimplified the benefits, but really, the sound is incredible from these little speakers.

They do the job well but lacking a bit in mids and lows. They do perform as they should but wish I spent a bit more for something better.

Versatile speakers

They are sold as "height speakers" but actually, they are designed for multiple uses and include the mounting brackets to be flush mounted or pads to place on a table.

It works but lacks power

Could hear the Atmos effects? Yes but with the rest of my speakers turn down extremely low. The sound I could hear was not very good quality. A pair of Polk T15 sounded better as height speakers by a long stretch half the price. They don't look as pretty mounted, but produces more bass and the mid range easily sounds better. I returned the Sony Atmos speakers and connected the T15s instead.

We appreciate your review of the speakers. This unit is designed to provide its performance as a Dolby Atmos-enabled speaker when installed on the front speaker horizontally. These steps may also help improve your experience:
-Set the automatic sound field correction of the AV receiver again.
-Check the surround setting on the AV receiver.
-Check that the sound source of the software you want to play is surround sound source.
-Make sure that the AV receiver is Dolby ATMOS compatible. To play the Dolby ATMOS effect, you need a compatible player or AV receiver.

Can't rate the rest of the review. The box should be labeled and have an installation QR code to warn buyers about all the items needed for install.

It weigh pretty heavy but doesn't do the work. I don't feel any sound coming from ceiling after a decent setup with nice AV receiver and sound setup mic.
