These may not give the same effect as proper atmos speakers in the ceiling, but at this price, you can’t complain. They do add some additional depth in the sound field, just temper your expectations and don’t expect to be blown away by the addition of these to your system.

This style of bounce atmos speaker doesn’t really sound like a proper in ceiling atmos speaker. But if you don’t want to rip your ceiling open these are pretty ok. They mostly raise the height of the sound stage. Not a stellar difference. But for the price and limitations it’s a decent set. Sony core is a hell of a bang for the buck speaker lineup.

Can't ceiling mount, but want ATMOS? Buy these.

The angle of the drivers is perfect to reflect the sound off of the ceiling, and while I'm sure that they sound even better if you can ceiling mount them they are still really good if you can't.

Sound is good, though in use as rear speakers my Sound setup on my Onkyo receiver does not detect during setup. I have had to manually configure. Otherwise, the sound quality has been good and I am happy with the purchase.

I definitely feel as if I was in a sound bubble.. the affect isn't present in every movie.. it is truly amazing. I just placed the speakers on top of the towers and ran separate wires. Perfect match with the Sony 1080 receiver!

Of course they don’t replace in ceiling speakers but they certainly do add an overhead effect and more full sound stage in my now 5.1.2 setup. I want to get another set for the rears but will need to upgrade my avr for that.

Set up for Atmos sound. No brained if you just need a moderate Atmos set up. I’m using them as my rear heights and the sound is outstanding.
