Can't transfer Sony remote to cable remote. In game mode, very dull picture.

The picture appears distorted regardless of which picture mode is selected.

My preference at this moment is 4K tv ... But has a good quality

I owned a Magnavox and it lasted a few years before burning out. Then a Samsung that started acting up after 2 years (shut off and on for no reason) and I read that it was because they use cheap components. Just outside of warranty, go figure. I just bought the Sony for a room I renovated and the quality is outstanding. Very easy to setup, great picture quality, and all around great product for the price. I've been searching for "my brand" when it comes to televisions (Toshiba is my choice for computers) and I think I've found it in Sony.

I have been using this TV a little over 4 months now and I thought I have used it long enough to post a review. The good things a great picture. 4 HDMI plugs (all in use). A couple of thing on this TV that I didn't it had. Picture in Picture (PIP) and great little thing called related search (what this does is if you hear a song in the background push this button and for the most part it has named almost every song) The bad: while Sony does put a wall bracket in the box with the TV it does move away from the wall. This TV replaced another Sony TV that had been on the wall for 9 years and it was a mess behind it. It was a nightmare trying to find a wall bracket that would work with this TV because of how the plugs are all over the place on the back. They need to put a real time off setting on the TV instead of having to have the TV come on then turn off at least an hour latter.

Very disappointed with the quality of this television especially for it being a Bravia 1080p smart tv. When I ran apps through the Bravia the best quality I would get is 720p but my Apple TV would produce at 1080p when connected.

I LOVE my new Sony TV! It is everything I ever wanted. I bought a 40" LCD TV when they first came out (I believe it was 2006 approximately) and paid so much more for it and it was so heavy that it was impossible for me to try to move it by myself. I ended up giving it away to a relative. Now this one on the other hand, its a breeze to move and to handle on my own and OMG what a picture! I just love everything about it and am very happy with my purchase. Nothing but Sony for me!

This is a replacement for the original which arrived damaged. They didn't have the same model so this is a later, cheaper version. I haven't got the tape input working yet so I can't comment on that.

This TV's Picture Quality is Awesome! It was missing the right screws though,a hassle and didn't get to see it set up right away,I was bummed! The Stand doesn't match the TV,which I didn't know. Remote I don't like hard to press buttons!The TV itself is Amazing though,highly recommend.

I'm a very picky consumer, and I like to know I got my money's worth, and this TV pleases even me. This is my first HDTV, I waited long to take the plunge, but this was the perfect unit. Picture is excellent and can be endlessly customized for people as selective as I am. Setup is easy and the set is super-light (especially compared to the 150 lb. CRT I previously had). Plenty of HDMI ports, which is nice. I'm a gamer, so low input lag is one of the things I was looking for, and Sony is at the top of the class. As I was standing back from the wall of TVs in my local Best Buy, you could actually see this TV displaying the demo video a fraction of a second faster than all the other models nearby, which is impressive. The sound leaves a lot to be desired, but that's the case with 90% of HDTVs. If you know what you're doing, you can adjust the settings and equalizer to make it sound decent, but most configurations are just weak and tinny sounding. For most people it will be fine, but audiophiles like me will likely want to apply a surround sound system or a soundbar to get the most out of it. The TV stand is cheap, but effective. Would be nice if it could swivel, but not necessary. One final complaint is the lack of a quick and easy way to change aspect ratio. Once again, the average viewer usually doesn't care about this and never touches the feature, but I always prefer to display video in its native size, and sometimes that means trip through a few menus instead of a simple button press. All in all, though, a fantastic TV.

Everyone has done a great job on highlighting the general use of this TV, but here's some additional info that I would have found useful: - This uses a type of MVA/PVA (or whatever the current term is) panel. That means three things: 1. Great colors 2. Increased input lag. Not bad on this set, but definitely noticeable if you're using a mouse. 3. Brightness shifts based on viewing angle. Head-on will always be the darkest, with growing brightness the farther you get from your viewing point. Not terribly visible in black or bright scenes, but mid-tones, especially grays, show this issue strongly. Middling level of effect here. Worse than some, better than others. Whether the above issues are a big deal to you depends on your uses and personal screen standards. - The interface is great. Nice sound effects, clean visuals, professional color calibration options, easy connectivity to wi-fi, and no obvious forced "enhancements". - Sound is good for a TV, and offers a basic equalizer among other settings. Full and clear. - Stand is solid and metal, and easily removed with two Philips screws. - The ability to play Playstation games on this requires a subscription to Playstation Now, Sony's game-streaming service. Others have said that there's a Playstation 3 inside this set, but that's not the case. Games are streamed from Sony's servers to the set, with the video quality and lag being significantly dependent on your internet connection. I generally like this set, but it's had the effect of making me wish that Panasonic still made IPS panel TVs in this size. Oh well. I hope that this was useful to you.

This TV screen breaks without me doing nothing to it and I did not realize this until I took it to the store to have it looked at, that was when I was told, and the store refused to exchange it and the make me have to buy another TV. That is not a good customer service when your associates and techs literarily call the customer a liar. That is very disappointing especially to a loyal customer.

I always like Sony tvs and this one did not disappoint. Plus I got a great deal on a 4 hr sale.

The tv worked fine and after 2 years it won’t turn on.

There are not that many 4K sources available and this tv is being used as a big monitor for custom built computer, but I do also have my 4K Panasonic blu ray player attached and they both look beautiful on this 40" from Sony. It is easy to use and attaching the base to set it up is easy. I use my Klipsch computer speakers and there is an easy button to use just the external speakers, how nice is that?

It's a SONY! TV was great out of the box. With a few adjustments it looks perfect. Bought this tv to replace a Samsung which was a mistake to buy from the start. I have never bought a sony and wished i bought something else. Great color, brightness, and easy to adjust. Wifi works good. The sound isn't bad but not great.

I was looking between this and the Samsung, and since the Samsung was not on display at the time and the Sony was on- the choice was easy. This smart tv is easy to use and initial set up and internet connection is no problem. It is super light weight and comes with both a table stand bar or wall mounting hardware. The table stand bar is flimsy but since that is my only complaint because the picture is perfect. The speakers are OK, but nothing special. Since the tv is set up in a large bedroom, I don't need the volume too high. Regarding the smart tv function: You can either use SONY's limited apps, or just use the normal internet browser to access any websites like you normally would on your phone or computer.

It was a tough decision to make Samsung or Sony 40 inch. However, I am so glad I went with Sony because the picture is ridiculously amazing. I love how you get extra hdmi ports and usb ports. I love the color, the feeling, the sound of this tv. Every time I walk into my room after a long day of work, I smile when I see this TV. Please get the Sony tv. You will not be sad. A+++++
