Works great as a monito

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to use as a monitor since the LG oled monitors are all 48 inches which i feel is too big. This has been working great and is very clear. The biggest problem with any LG based oled monitor is the automatic brightness dimming which is very annoying when reading articles as it’ll gradually get darker and darker. This one does autodim but it doesnt get aggressive as the LG. This costs more than all the Lg 48 c2, aorus 48, and lg ultra gear 48, but i am keeping this due to its practicality.

Excellent as a TV and monitor

Before getting this TV, I had read two complaints: (1) low max brightness and (2) poor text quality. Neither of these has been an issue at all for me. It is perfectly bright for sustained periods and the text is fine. Neither are as good as a retina Apple screen, but I have found them to be perfectly fine. I use scaling to maybe a 2k level space. I also use it for console gaming, and it is fantastic for that.

Bad investment

Compared to my lg oleds which are a whole lot cheaper as well. Not to mention the first one I purchased was damaged badly during the shipping process.

Open Box doesn't mean that

Didn't know until I got home that it didn't have its original stand and they didn't want to refund a portion and had to spend money on a stand.

The TV needs a couple of minutes to initialize after the TV power cord is plugged in. The power buttons on the TV and the remote won't work during this short period of time, and the LED or illumination LED won't light up right away. This is normal operation.

TV is for my brother who loves it, but he has already lost the remote. Looked everywhere in his room to no avail. Need better remotes for elderly and people in nursing homes.

I like the sturdy stand, which is more stable than that for other models and other brands. A few nuisances. Screen when set is not turned on is a mirror. Very reflective. The Google assistant Talkback is a nuisance and easy to turn on by accident, even though you don't want it. Talks to much. If you change the volume, it announces the change, interrupting what you are listening to. Very difficult to navigate settings to turn Talkback off. In fact, the settings menu is obscure and Sony provides no help online to navigate it. I tried to use the settings recommended by Consumer Reports but could not find the options in Settings.
