The picture looks fine when the room lights are off. However, the recessed lights in my home reflect on the screen and refract (cause a series of rainbow images). I redirected the worst offender, the light near my computer. I even exchanged the TV thinking there might be a defect in the screen. Beware!

Good TV But Hard to Use

The TV has a good picture and features, but Sony has provided very little documentation or help. Not much is intuitive and little is explained, even in the online “manuals.” I would recommend checking out other companies’ support before buying this TV or brand.

issues after a couple of months

So I have owned this tv now for a couple of months and now I am starting to have issues with the Wi-fi as well as other features of this tv. once it establishes the wi-fi connection and you try Netflix or amazon tv it tells me to connect to the internet even though the tv says its connected. I have no issue with any of my other wi-fi devices. It's glitchy when you try and change inputs sometimes it will stay on the input you select and sometimes it wonders through the inputs. The picture is okay but not great which I didn't really expect the wow effect at this price point.

This tv is no longer any good. I have had it 4.5 yeasts ago. The first year the sound went out. It was not very user friendly. It took a year for me to figure out how to use the smart tv. I’ll never buy another Sony.

So I’ve owned a few Sony tvs over the years and this is the first one to have issues. I’ve had this tv for just over a year now. The picture on this hasn’t been the greatest. Just had the tv color turn gray and fuzzy. Glad I got Geek Squad, this tv is getting returned.

After 3 years this TV is having connection issues with my Direct TV service. Today direct TV service came to my home because whenever the TV was turned on the picture was purple with no sound. Direct TV tech said the issue was TV HDMI input connection and he tried everything to correct the issue but to no avail. Previously contacted Sony Tech support and they did a remote connection on the TV and they said it's a Direct TV genie problem. And so today Direct tried eveything under the sun to fix & find the problem but no good. Direct TV said buy a new TV. It's a Sony problem with their software but does not want to admit it.

    Screen damage

This tv is a poor design as you need to flip the tv onto the the top to put on the tv stand. The mounting screws screw in from the bottom. The problem arises as the tv screen is not designed to rest on the top so damage to the screen is likely when the weight is on the top. This is exactly what happened when I was mounting the stand. Sony will not cover damage to the screen even if still under warranty, so I wasted $600. Will never buy another Sony product.

im not sure of image quality or ease of use .... but one things for sure about this "smart tv".... if you plan to cut cable and use Sony's PSVUE app.... this Sony "smart tv" cant do it... not without the help of a roku, firestick , or appletv.... thats right a Sony "smart tv" that cant use a Sony service... what other apps that you want will it not be able to "load"? "smart tv", really?
