    Random turning on issue

I recently bought 2 of these--(2 different sizes) -and both have the same exact problem---they are also in 2 different houses---no matter how they are configured they both have the habit of turning on at random times--seriously--every couple of days - they just turn on--no rhyme or reason to the schedule.....they are both hooked into Comcast Infiniti service and the Best Buy repair guys say to have the cable boxes replaced---we did that and they still just randomly turn on. We searched the Sony support site and followed the recommendations they have posted and the problem still exists---I am incredibly disappointed having spent over $5000.00 on these TV's - I am about to try to force Best Buy to refund me - but they are pushing back. Anyone else have any suggestions----and yes all of the auto on configurations have been looked at by the repair folks

A regrettable purchase. All streaming apps crash every time this thing is used. Have tried software updates which the unit reports are all up to date. My WiFi and internet are up to date and the signal is strong. Other devices on my network work great even as this unit crashes. Will never buy from this manufacturer again.

Not completely satisfied with the picture quality. We have tried to change it but still can’t get it to where we think it should be. You can see every imperfection on faces. A little disturbing.

I don't know who is giving these reviews that are excellent but they obviously do not own a quality OLED. This TV's picture is horrible. From the second I fired it up I knew it wasn't in the same league as my LG. Honestly, the tv with the picture off (beautiful craftsmanship and design) is more impressive than when it's on. The black level on this TV is lcd quality at best. No wonder it's on sale, probably because of returns. Just save up for the LG. You'll be glad I told ya so. LG is far superior in every way.

This is more specific to Best Buy... The Sony didn't work...spent 3 hours trying troubleshooting steps, YouTube videos and Sony Tech line... Both Sony Tech Line and Best Buy Tech support totally useless. Recommendation... return it to the store for a replacement. That's no small task repacking and hauling the piece of crap. Replacement...don't think so...refund, yes...I'll spend my hard earn else where. ~$1200 for the TV, another $154 for Geek Squad protection and Best Buy tech says no to Geek Squad. You'd think for that much money spent they'd be more helpful even if it's being returned.

Sony shows why they are the best in the business

A9S This review is from the perspective of a console based gamer, but will touch on features and capabilities of the display. The Sony Master Series A9S delivers the picture quality and design designated to flagship displays. It’s ultra thin panel with nearly non-existent bezel reminds me of their classic monlithic designs of old. While the panel itself is as thin as any modern OLED display the housing for the internals take up nearly the entire rear of the display. This offers excellent cable management with panels that conceal them within the body it and also houses the actuators that help create the 2.1 channel audio. Which brings me to one of the most impressive pieces of technology on any display I’ve owned. Sony’s acoustic surface+ audio, which employs multiple actuators behind the screen turning it into multi-directional audio and a small sub-woofer too. This turns entire screen into a virtual 3D sound system. It works better than it has any right too and left me truly impressed. While watching film and in some games if multiple characters were on screen, there was directional audio that would simulate the dialogue coming from the area screen. But let’s get to the heart of the display and talk about the gorgeous OLED display. When you pair the OLED panel with Sony’s X1 Ultimate processor you get one of the most natural looking and smooth performing displays available. Contrast ratio is infinite as with any OLED display, but not all ca handle shades of black quite as well as the A9S. Shadow detail is great and offers very smooth gradation, so you won’t see gradient steps or posterization. Between the near instant response time of an OLED and the 120hz refresh rate motion is truly impressive. But while it offers exceptionally smooth motion for gaming, the A9S won’t be one of the displays to receive the VRR/ALLM update coming to the X900H of last year or the X90J of 2021. This is due largely in part to the lack of HDMI 2.1 support and Mediatek SoC limitations. This may be a deal breaker for some who are looking for a gaming specific display and if that’s the case LG offers some of the best gaming displays on the market. The games that I play for the most part are console story based single player experiences that don’t necessarily need the feature, but if you are a PC gamer VRR/Freesync/G-sync will be far more important. Since PC’s have an unlocked frame rate, that as it fluctuates it can cause screen tearing and in some cases lag as the display works to match FPS. My only con is the stand. The stand is about a quarter inch in thickness, so it leaves the display nearly touching your entertainment center. This isn’t a deal breaker or flaw, just something I thought should be mentioned. I have owned several Sony’s over the all with varying quality, as well as other display from smaller companies to the big names. The Sony Master Series A9S is hands down the best display I have ever owned.
