TV freezes most of the time
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Moving from TV to netflix, youtube or any other app is too slow. Sometime when coming back from app to TV mode remote does not work at all, we have to unplug power cable and at plug it again. volume doesn't work most of the time. Me and my friend have same model and we have exact same problem. Since we can't return TV, it is such a pain as a customer. Only good thing about this TV has good picture quality but worse TV OS, installed without proper testing.

No Amazon support as of August 13, 2016
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. No Amazon app? Come on - Amazon is kind of a big deal! I was hoping for a more seamless "smart" experience but it just didn't happen. I am back to using my Fire TV Stick. I wish I would have saved a few bucks and bought last year's model or maybe even a Samsung.

Least smart tv I've ever used
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Takes 10 minutes to connect apps to the network and only has a couple apps (totally missing amazon prime), plus the hdmi inputs have a habit of getting messed up leading to a big green bar across the tv.

Not worth the price.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought my Sony Bravia KDL-48W600B roughly 3 years ago and, as of early last week, it is dead. No lights, screen, or power of any. I believe, as i have been researching the problem for a few days, that the logic board has gone bad. A relatively simple fix, but just the same. A tv that i had spent about $450 on 3 years ago is dead. I loved it while it lasted. The picture quality was outstanding and the app choices were great. Although the apps would randomly stop working at times. A great tv, but definitely not worth the half a grand i spent on it. I have a Vizio for probably going on 8 years now (maybe more) and it is still just as great as the day I bought it. Sony, i have always been a loyal and supportive customer of all of your products, but i think this incident has lost my loyalty to your tv's.

Flimsy construction, poor mounting options
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV was very flimsy out of the box. You could easily twist it between your fingers. When I tried to mount it to my existing mounting hardware I noticed the mounting plate would cover the HDMI (Arc) input so this design is very poor. The sound quality of the speakers was also not great. If you buy this unit you will want a sound bar or other external device. I returned this unit the same day I bought it and opted for another brand.

No Picture just 3 mo. after warranty expired :(
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love my Best Buy. Never had a problem...just problem with Sony Bravia kdl48w650d 48 inch. Just a couple months after manufacturer warranty *1yr. expired...TV will turn on...green light...no picture just sound. Will sometimes show picture for seconds to a minute then flicker and turn off. Spent time with sony tech. rep. and was told too bad...take it into sony repair shop at my own cost. should have bought extended warranty- but thought sony brand would last. Only use tv 4 hours a week on sundays. not a tv guy... and now Really not a tv person! Sigh. 500 dollar television should last more than a year.

Sound is horrible
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a long time buyer of Sony TVs and Sony Theater projectors. After some research I actually went to Best Buy to buy a Samsung HD TV for my sister this past weekend. However, a Best Buy salesman talked me into this Sony Bravia 48W650D because of the better motionflow. After I set it up at home, I was appalled at how bad the sound is. Turns out there are two tiny 5W speakers in this TV. The Samsung I was going to buy had two 10W speakers. I fully understand the tradeoff between thinner LED TVs and speaker sizes, but this TV has speakers that are the smallest you could possibly get in a TV. It does require a sound bar, which to get a decent one could cost $100 - $200! But I also wasn't that impressed with the picture, so I ended up taking the TV back and purchased a Samsung 7000 series 49 inch 4K TV for about $200 more and the sound from the two 10W speakers is excellent.... no sound bar needed. So be aware if you purchase this TV that the sound is not good. Streaming a Netflix series like The Crown that has a great soundtrack, will not sound good on this TV.

Component Connection Workaround/Bad Internet
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.RGB connections to mini adapter that makes the picture look like a simple video (yellow cable) type connection is a bad idea. The internet keeps disconnecting and discovered that when I refresh it it knocks others off of the wireless. They then have to re-set the router which disconnects the TVs connection and a bad loop of activity begins. I read some generic posts that make it seem like the firmware needs updating in the router. This is a tv I got for my parents who won't use the apps unless we're all there visiting, but we'll be updating their router soon so we'll see. The guy at Best Buy told me it had component connections. I was in a hurry and he was good so I went with it. Really, a component to mini pin adapter for component video? That's the first I've seen of that. The picture quality seems good. Good TV for my parents.....I would never get it for myself.

Annoying OS issues starting after 1 year
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wife has a Sony Bravia from 2002 that still works fantastic, so we assumed Sony was the brand to go with. This model is from their "disposable cheapie" line of products. Worked great for about a year, then started having annoying little issues that we dealt with at first, but ultimately led us to replace it 3 years later. Screen freezes. Seemed to sometimes forget that it had an internet connection. Biggest one was every month or 2 it would not power on, give us a series of flashing red lights that indicated a backlight issue (???). The only fix for this was to unplug and let sit for 5-8 hours, then it would start up ok-- but when you have 3 kids sometimes you need the TV to just work when you need it to. I don't like gadgets that only function when you use a "trick". I expected more from Sony.

Wow...what a disappointment
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the newest version of this TV and you would think that Sony would have it nailed. Wow what a disappointment. I'm going to return it and look at another brand. The tv is so flimsy and twists in your hands as you take it out of the box. Obviously, if you're going to mount it and forget about it it's not as big of a concern but I've never owned a tv that twists. That's honestly not the worst of the TV's issues. The speakers and sound quality are atrocious. This is Sony! How can you build a tv that one of the features you're showcasing is the speakers but they sound horrible. I played with the EQ and other sound options but nothing made it better. The smart tv feature is also very lacking and not user friendly. There are so many TV's on the market and this feature has been around long enough that it shouldn't take the user any time at all to use it.

No thought in Wall Mounting
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Review is not complete as we have not turned on the TV yet. Little concerned about keeping this TV, due to Sony's incompetence on their design of the outputs and wall mount placement. Something as simple as looking at the HDMI and Digital Out jacks and seeing the wall mount screw holes are off line, is a simple task. Now, I need to order spacers so I can mount the TV to my existing wall mount.

Wall mount
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this TV as a Christmas gift for my son only to find you can't wall mount it without blocking the primary HDMI port and the optical port. I am so frustrated, as I have been a loyal Sony fan for years. I don't comprehend how in today's tech Sony would design a TV with a non functional wall mount design. No option but to return it. To add to,this it only has two hdmi ports too.

Going back to the shop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was our one of the first smart TV. We purchased this one with a Samsung. Before buying a 85" for the living room, we wanted to experience and compare Samsung and Sony with our bedroom TVs. When we hooked it up, it kept giving us weird network errors, like Network Error #****. I had to google those error numbers to understand what they mean, so much for the user experience! Every time the power was shut off, I had to reenter wifi info. Every time I booted it up, it took me to blank screen, and going to Netflix became expeditions, if we didn't get the network error message. The TV would get stuck in looking for network all the time. Response to remote was very poor. Nothing worked- rebooting, even rebooting my router. Good bye Sony!

Picture gets scattered lines on it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just bought this TV on 8/14/16. The picture gets scattered lines on it frequently. It's kind of hard to explain. I'd like to keep the TV, but not sure what to do about the issue. I'm really disappointed.

Fauty Picture Quality & Limited
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This item has not lived up to the Sony brand name. After 15 months the picture quality became faulty - two pixel lines are visible across the center of the screen: one runs the width of the screen and the other one half way. Additionally, the TV sometimes turns off by itself immediately after powering on - and then powers up again by itself. Something I can deal with, but the faulty picture is a non-starter. I recommend buying an extended warranty if offered at the time of your purchase. Second, I bought a wall mount to fit the TV. Warning - make sure the wall mount doesn't prevent you from using one of the HDMI ports. This TV doesn't accommodate some standard wall mounts as the mount bracket will obstruct one of the HDMI ports.

Multiple repair guys, keeping us on the phone for hrs Still refusing to replace and only chose to punish us the more we asked for it. Now even after they have approved a replacement, we are in an epic battle with to even get it. When your Products are this bad, your customer service can't be the worst this world has to offer.
