Black does not look very Black

I was told buy a Best Buy salesperson that this TV would be great for gaming and sports so I made the purchase. After trying it for a week, I ultimately returned it. The main reason why and it should be warned: the black levels on this TV are terrible, and not "rich" "deep" or "dark". Idk how else to explain it. When watching a dark lit movie scene all I could focus on is the greyish "black" that totally kills the immersion (especially Dramas). You know those two black bars on the top and bottom of widescreen movies? They aren't black. Also the display looks blotchy sometimes, however it's possible this problem was on my end. This is not very thin but it does TV looks great (the TV itself, not the talking about display here.) The only thing I would mention is there is a light on the bottom indicating the TV is turned on, I kind of liked it, some might not. The good: The Display was good for video games and the black isn't noticeable for full screen brightly lit shows and movies like Survivor, Parks and Rec. the black is really the only problem, but a BIG one for me.

    Excellent TV

Very pleased with this tv so far! Excellent picture, motion, etc. The only issues I had with set up were because I hit a wrong button on the remote, other than that very easy to set up, had it done in about 30 minutes (that includes pairing the JBL soundbar with it and putting stand together). Colors are very crisp. Like that I was able to pair Cox remote with it to make things easier.

Great 4K HDR TV for the price

I bought this television as my first 4K set and I am very impressed with the results. With a 120 refresh rate, the picture looks very smooth. The 4K upscaling is amazing. And the HDR makes the images so vividly beautiful. As an Android TV, I find the available 4K apps a bit low quality. I found better results with a Roku Premiere+ and an Xbox One S. Overall, it is a great tv set.

    No Picture

Loved everything about this TV until 20 days after purchase when I turned it on, no picture, no response to inputs or menu, only sound. A Google search revealed many with the same complaint last year. Finally unplugged and plugged back in and it rebooted and worked. But I returned it today. No way am I going to deal with software issues on a TV. One commenter thought it could be the way Android works with the TV software, and my hunch is that is the problem. I turned off the TV while streaming from an Android app included rather than from a TV station, maybe that caused the glitch. I also didn't like the urging to sig into my Google gmail account while using the apps just so Google can track everything I do on the TV. I love Sony TVs but replaced this with a Samsung with no Google Android.

Pandora plays spontaneously. Remote poor. OS Slow

Picked up my TV a couple of weeks ago. The picture is great. However, Pandora plays spontaneously during other activities, like watching TV. The remote is also poor - button input is iffy - you press and hope for something - especially on numbers when changing the channel. Also, the OS seems slow and laggy when toggling thru menus. When I try to check for an update download, I get an error saying not connected to network (1002). My build version is 6.01. Not sure if I got a lemon or what but I'm pretty disappointed.

For the price it's not bad. The usb drive gave it some difficulty to read drive so I had to download certain players on the market to enable to play which is not bad but it's quite slow in reading files on the usb no matter which media I'm using. It's a good buy for the price

This tv is the best overall tv I've ever got. It is twice as big as my old one, but the best improvement is the 4K. If you're on the edge, defiantly buy t totally worth the money, so clear it looks real.

Television DID work great, for a minute...

I bought this TV a couple years few years back to get the best picture for my PS4 Pro. It was working fine and I was satisfied with the product. However, recently I have been experiencing a lot of the same issues other reviewers have been noting. The television no longer stays connected or the connection is so poor to my Google mesh system that I cannot utilize the apps built into the television or use the mirroring features. Additionally, I have recently purchased a PS5. The television will turn off and reset randomly during play, it had never done that when I played on my PS4 Pro. Conveniently these issues started popping up after my warrant with Geek Squad expired. For the price that I paid for the unit, I would have expected it to last longer than a handful of years. I love Sony gaming consoles, but I am just not sold on their televisions after this unit. Prior to this unit I was purchasing Vizio TVs. My very first 720p Vizio television is still working like it came straight from the box. Might be time to move to another brand.

Great family room upgrade from 1080p - noticeably better picture and the smart features work seamlessly. Would be a 5 star but I'm spoiled with a 65 Samsung with awesome technology, but this is a good value purchase, especially under $620.

User manual that comes with TV is just about useless. If you want to know more you will have to download manual which is approximatly 100 pages ,thats just too overwhelming for the average person. I also bought a Sony sound Bar which had better instructions, go figure.Yes Sony has customer support and they do a good job ( just about on a first name bases with them). Great picture as I said overwhelming to operate for the average person

    Too many glitches

Had this TV for a day and a half before deciding to return it. It kept losing my picture adjustments and turning back on all of the motion and reality nonsense as well as filters. I went through each input and set all to my liking and the next time I'd switch back to that input, it was changed. I also kept getting an error saying I needed to set up a network connection, when pressing the Netflix button. I was already set up and connected, confirmed by the network settings. Just couldn't deal with so many problems from the first day. I expect better from Sony and for the price. And yes I did the software update, over that wifi connection which the TV kept telling me wasn't set up.

This television should be pulled off the shelves. The blacks are washed out, and you cannot even have a light on in the house or there will ge a giant rainbow glare. HDR ready lol. Just like when 3D was invented but not produced. They jack up the prices for software that cannot be utilized or will be outdated when it can. Pay the extra $50 for the 800D model. You will hate this 700D if you really enjoy a good screen.

Picture is nice. ANDROID TV BAD.

After owning this tv for a month here is my observation. Picture quality is great, but still comparable to tvs that cost half. Android TV interface is sloppy and is infested with so much sony and google bloatware that finding apps you download don't even appear. In fact there is no interface or way to organize the apps you prefer or use frequently. It only wants to tell you or "recommend" what you should be experiencing. How did this get made and liked? It's useless and insulting...also currently HBO GO through comcast is not licencesd on android tv... Totally Awesome! I did not pay for a premium product to get maced with ads or cattle prodded to consume useless stuff. Solution: I will have to buy a Roku HD...yeah ...spend more money.

Software keeps shutting tv off after an hour of viewing. Didn't happen often within first three months but last 3 months have been a pain and Sony keeps giving me the run around. Contacted Sony multiple times within 6 month period. Best Buy wouldn't talk to me and said I had to contact Sony directly. Still no solution.
