Great picture, dodgy interface
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This is the TV that I purchased after returning my first pick, which was the step-down x800e model. The picture quality and HDR capabilities on this set blow away what I had originally purchased. Any 4K content looks amazing, and full-HD looks superb as well. My wife and I are re-watching some old sitcoms we love and the picture on them almost takes on a hyper-real quality, which is making us fall in love with the shows all over again. Enough love, though. There were issues. My remote doesn't work and it never did out of the box. My tv never received input from the remote. Fortunately I got a universal Harmony remote to handle everything and it works fine. Also, the Android TV interface is remarkably slow. There is remarkably noticeable lag following inputs as you navigate around the UI, and there is a TON of crapware, some of which you will not be able to remove from the screen. "Recommendations" dominate the top part of the display as well, and while you can turn off notifications for everything, you will still see almost half of the screen telling you that there are no recommendations. Really annoying, and a big detractor from what is otherwise an awesome set.
