I spent a lot of time researching televisions. I wanted to find the right mix of value and performance. I think this TV hits right in the middle. IMO it has better picture and overall performance than say the budget Vizio/TCL but stays clear price-wise from the highend LED and OLED. I do not have cable so I currently have limited 4K content. Its also hard to find a TV in this size but maybe I'm just one of the few who don't love having extra large TV's.

It syncs so perfect with anything that is Sony! It is 120hz so gaming looks amazing on the PlayStation4 and Xbox One and even on the Nintendo Switch. Movies look amazing. The sound is good but it is better to get a soundbar, to really hear those footsteps on call of duty. This is a perfect tv for a small to medium room. The price is more then you would pay at the size range BUT you are getting 120hz compared to 60hz. I Highly Recommend This TV!

I was looking for a TV for a smaller living room with limited space. This Sony and a comparable Samsung were the two finalists. After talking to the BB Associate, and more scrutiny with the refresh rates, I chose the Sony. It was a great choice! Last Sony I owned was in the 90s...this TV has a phenomenal picture and was easy to set up. I gave it four stars (and four quality bars) due to the sound quality. The picture in these flat screens has improved tremendously over the years, but there is not much that can be done for speakers. I plugged in a sound bar-this setup really rocks now!

I’ve always used Sony or Samsung TVs. The tc in bedroom was not a smart tc and our fire stick stopped working. We decided to just check out a new tv. Bought the song when it was on sale in the store. The quality is fantastic. Love the smart tv and ability to watch my Chinese shows on IQIYI where my old Samsung was not able to (couldn’t even download the app)

We had a Sony 3D TV that quit after only 7 years, so I was reluctant to purchase another one. However I bit the bullet and bought another Sony, glad I did, best picture I have ever experienced. Set up was easy and straight forward. The remote is sensitive and awkward unless you have small fingers. The picture settings are difficult to use and understand, and the instruction book is of little use. Hopefully this Sony will last more than seven years.

I've always been a Sony guy, so I naturally wanted to go with a Sony with my 4k upgrade. As always, I highly researched different TVs on different sites and this specific model kept coming up high on the scoring chart so I pulled the trigger. The picture is beautiful. I have to admit I'm not the worlds foremost expert on calibration and the like, but I do feel like there is little washout and coloring is what it should be and details are incredibly clear. I've become a bit of a snob now and only want to watch anything in 4k HDR. I love AndroidTV OS, although there is certainly some lag here and there and I wish there was an easier way to kill apps not in use. But it's beautiful, easy to use and has great built ins as well as a whole robust app store.
On a tangent - about a month after I purchased this TV my friend grabbed a 65" Samsung for a much lower price from a major wholesaler and naturally I had a little bit of envy. However, after seeing his TV in action I can confidently say the Sony truly has a better picture. So, if you're after size and not as worried about picture then you may want to go with a bigger model. But if picture quality is your major concern I would roll with Sony.

I bought a Samsung 50 inch TV 10 years ago for almost $1,700. It wasn't even a smart TV. The Sony is nearly the same size, but is much lighter weight wise (I can lift by myself), with higher picture quality, brightness and with better motion reduction. I bought the TV on Black Friday for 1/2 the price I paid for the Samsung. If you are looking for a great TV at a reasonable price, I recommend this product.

I ended up buying this TV after my older LG TV went out. What I was mainly looking for was for a TV with a native 120 Hz rate. My older LG TV was rated 120 Hz as well but thru software emulation. With my older LG TV, motion blur was noticeable while watching sports on TV as well as action packed scenes. With this Sony TV, no motion blur. Though the sound could use a bit more improvement, the picture quality is amazing!

My 10 year old Samsung gave out and I needed to replace it. This was the third TV I tried. The first was a Chinese brand from Costco and the second another brand from Best Buy. I returned the Costco and Best Buy TVs and opted for this one which just happened to go on sale by $100 savings. The picture is awesome, especially in 4K HDR. I run mine through Roku. Beautiful Television.

I did a lot of research before finally deciding on Sony. I had a Samsung but just started having issues that could not be fixed. I couldn’t have chosen a better tv than this Sony. I have a 32in Sony in my bedroom, just regular tv and it still works great after many years of use. I love using the voice feature to turn on Hulu or Netflix apps. So easy to use, set-up was easy and you just can’t go wrong with a Sony! Well worth the price!

Have had many TV's over the years; (I am a retired senior citizen).
Waited for this Sony to go on sale, and although it is a 2018 model,
I can't imagine a better TV for the money. 49 " is all that I need, and with HDR, it is a great deal. Screen resolution and performance is fantastic ! Also bought the BB 4 yr protection plan - great deal on that as well.
Highly recommend both the TV and BB !

Bought this for a bedroom TV. Bought a couple other cheaper TVs which neither had the picture I was looking for. We decided to spend more money for the Sony and glad we did. It has an awesome picture with very eye popping color. And did I mention the blacks? Much better then the first two TVs that I returned. Overall you can't go wrong with this TV. I highly recommend this Tv.

The picture on this set is outstanding. Colors are vibrant and true. The picture is a little bright which is normal for LED TVs. We have the set in our living room which is very bright, and the picture remains true which is the real value of an LED set. The picture during the evening is still great. Set replaced a 10 year old Sony. Glad we got the Sony. It is worth every penny.

For the last few decades they only TV I’ve had is a Samsung. For the first time I purchased a Sony and thus far have been very satisfied. Color is crisp, sound solid and comes with a cool, interactive remote. Will be able to give a reassessment in the next few months.

Did a lot of research on this screen. The screen size pretty much made my decision, as I had limited with. I would have had to jump another step up to make a fairly direct comparison. Those products did not have this size, 49 inch. The picture is awesome, especially when displaying hdr on 4k blu rays. Yes I know I paid a good price, but this is definitely worth it.

Great color contrast.
Bright.
Sound is clear.
The TV is an amazing display.
Only complaints:
One thing I haven’t liked on any Smart TV are the apps. This is no exception.
The control is also an issue: it works well, but the layout is awkward and more times than not you will hit a button that launches an app.

I bought the Visio p-55 and it was a awful. Switched to this bad boy. Darks are great, google assistant is on point, and the picture quality is incredible. For some reason it struggles with HDR on the PS4 Pro, so it took some work to get Red Dead looking peak crispy. Had to use the calibration guide at rtings.com for help. Great TV though.

I have this TV in my home office and absolutely love it! So much so, that when it was time to upgrade our living room TV, we picked up the 75" 900F. Stunning picture, motion handling is top notch, and nice deep blacks. If I had to do it again, I would get this TV again without ANY hesitation.

I was shopping for a new television for my apartment. I didn't want something too big so I decided to purchase the 49 inch X900F. I did go to a physical store to compare the 49 inch Sony versus the Samsung 49 inch comparable model. The Sony television won hands down. The colors and clarity on this model are amazing. The setup was simple as well. Watching movies and playing video games on this television is amazing.

The X900F has a great picture and is intuitive with the home screen menu. There haven't been any picture flaws and it's relatively easy to find what you are looking for in the system. I was even able to teach my 82 year old mother how to operate the TV in only a day or two. Very happy with purchase.
