With the advancement of smartphones and tablets, I rarely watch TV. But this Sony Bravia has the Android operating system installed in it. Almost everything your smartphone can do this TV can do with a bigger screen. Download apps, movies, music, etc from the Google Play store and play them. I'm not sure if every app is compatible, but your favorites are there. It has 3D functionality. The television supports PlayStation Now and you can even connect a Dualshock 4 controller as the actual TV remote when you're not gaming. The picture quality is very clear and natural. I could go on and on, but it's simply a TV you'd have to experience yourself. The cons: •The remote is feels a little cheap, but it does what it's supposed to do. • 30 minute required update when connecting to Wi-Fi out of the box •instructions for installing the stand (had to YouTube a source)

Been using this tv for few days and everyday i find something new annoys me . No doubt design and picture quality is top notch but what bothers me is that when i hook my internal drive i have to use an app to play videos with ADS and then i have to buy codecs for video files. When external drive is attached there is no where to find how to access it . Remote is too ghetto ..If you making an Smart TV atleast make a Smart Remote with keyboard . Oh no SOny makes you buy the keyboard. Also cannot play MP3 from my external drive. Cannot mirror my Samsung NOte 4 with the TV. I will give it few more days to see if im going wrong somewhere if not I will have no choice then to take it back and get Samsung 4K LCD which is $100 more and plays everything off of External HArd drive without any problems.

Before purchasing this TV, I watched reviews online and read many reviews on multiple TV brands. I even spent 45 minutes in the store (not sure why because the electronics people basically pushed me away as if they didn't want to sell me a TV). I decided to go with the Sony because of the clear crisp picture of the 50". There's other TVs that may have a better picture but not for the price of this TV. The only issue I have is when a scene switches from light to dark and the TV brightness seems to switch as well. I tried changing the settings and no difference. Might just be that I was watching tv on a lower end set so I'm not used to this feature. Overall, awesome TV. Glad I picked it up when it was on sale.

TV is great, nice and clear picture! Setting up is easy, even for an amature like me when it comes to technology/smart devices. Perfect size too!

Hands down, the best tv I've ever owned. The 3d graphics are surreal, I recommended the xpand glasses.

I had this kdl50w800c TV for about two weeks. The first thing I didn't like was the loud click that comes out of the speaker each time you change between a HD and a standard definition channel. Very annoying and something I have never heard on my other Sony and Samsung tv's. I called Sony and they told me that click sound is "normal". The picture quality, after many hours of adjustments, was average and no better than my three year old Samsung. The sound volume needs to be set fairly high for most listening. This TV has a separate power supply unit that is inline with the power cord. so, you have to deal with hiding that box behind the TV, etc. I was willing to put up with its shortcomings until the sound started to not work. Sometimes, when I'd turn on the set, I wouldn't get any sound. I would have to unplug the tv, then turn it back on and let it reset in order to hear anything. I returned the TV and got a refund.

Just bought this 50 inch Sony from Best Buy and so far no regrets the best TV I have owned. The picture is crisp and clear just watched the Force Awakens on Blu-Ray and couldn't believe how much more clear the picture was compared to my old TV. The sound quality is good but I might need to get a sound bar now.

Love the Sony Picture. They definitely have an advantage with there HD TV's. Picture and sound out of the box are outstanding..The only thing I'm not sure of is the Android TV built in. It may grow on me but I liked there previous smart setups better. Put this on your shortlist and for 699.00 you can't go wrong...

This TV was amazing, I think Sony cannot be matched in quality for a TV, they have the best processors and panels. The color is by far the best with a Sony.

If you want a good 3D TV then don't buy this TV!!! I have several issues with this TV and they are as follows: 1.) This TV did not come with 3D glasses!!! Yup, you're right!!! I wish I had read the reviews before I bought this TV to find out that it doesn't come with 3D glasses!!! I bought the 3D TV and the SONY 3D Blu-Ray Player and a 3D movie and hooked everything up and put the movie in and where are the glasses? I searched high and low and they didn't come with the TV!!! So, I went back to Best Buy and was advised to buy the wrong pair of 3D glasses (they were passive and you need ACTIVE 3D glasses for this TV). Well, Best Buy worked with me and was quite surprised as well as their SONY rep and I did find 3D glasses on Amazon for this TV but I've had 3 pairs of the glasses that I purchased on Amazon break on me and I got tired of sending the stupid glasses back to the seller so I bought 3 pairs of SONY 3D glasses that Amazon stupidly recommended based on my searches and guess what? They're the wrong stupid glasses!!! Even though they're SONY 3D ACTIVE glasses they don't work with this TV!!! You need to purchase TDG-BT500A which are hard to find and if you do find them they are EXPENSIVE!!! Originally when I purchased the TV from Best Buy in like May or June, Best Buy was really nice to me about this situation and kindly helped me out but, now I'm dealing with SONY and they totally stink!!! I couldn't even get a manager on the phone to discuss this issue!!! This totally irritated me to no end!!! 2.) The quality of the picture is okay but there have been problems with watching online (Netflix or Amazon Prime) videos (or services). But this problem was somewhat rectified by swapping out the Xfinity router for a faster dual Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz) router and using the 5 GHz Wi-Fi connection. (By the way, Xfinity's dual band Wi-Fi router is backed by CISCO which owns Linksys and they are the best manufacturers of routers out there!!!) 3.) SONY customer support stinks and getting the glasses for this TV is a really hard and expensive task!!! The 3D glasses recommended by SONY are TDG-BT500A and are about $90 for new with shipping or $75 for used with shipping (YUCK!!! -> who wants to buy used glasses and for $75 per pair with shipping per each -> I say NO to that!!!)!!! So, I recommend that you go with another brand of 3D TV where you either get the 3D glasses with the TV -> and make sure you check the reviews before you buy the TV!!! (I don't know why I didn't do that this time???) or the glasses that go with the TV are affordable and of good quality and don't break every time you go to put them on your face!!! I'm not mad at Best Buy but I am mad at SONY for their lack of assistance or help and the affordability and ease of obtaining the 3D glasses that go with the TV and then Amazon for recommending the wrong glasses!!! I won't be satisfied until a SONY rep shows up at my doorstep with 3 pairs of the glasses that go with my TV and take back the 3 pairs of SONY glasses (TDG-BR250/BR200) that don't go with my TV because I'm so outraged!!! It shouldn't take 4 phone calls and not being able to get a manager on the phone to resolve the problem, which is SONY is getting cheap to stay competitive and as a result we, as consumers, are suffering!!! NO!!! I won't stand for this!!! I'm never, ever, going to recommend a SONY product ever again!!! DO NOT BUY FROM SONY EVER!!!

Brought our TV today. Set up was easy. Unfortunately, the colors on The left side of screen are noticeably faded and washed out especially when gaming on Wii or PS4. Tried switching cables but nothing helped. Tested our game systems on our other TV and had no problems. . This was an open box item but since it was Geek Squad Certified, I trusted this TV to work as promised. So disappointed. Returning set tomorrow.

Not a very good TV. Worst I have ever had. Bought it to watch netflix and now I can't. Netflix reception got jammed by something on all my TVs. Not my computers just my smart and roku TVs. Since that time whatever the WiFi network problem or Netflix problem has been fixed. I have been able to restore Netflix to every TV but the Sony 50" ta da ta da TV. I have contacted Netflix and that go all my other TVs fixed but not the Sony. I have contacted Sony and done everything they could dream up but since this TV has a "netflix" button and is preprogrammed at the factory no one seems to know how to knock it out and start over again. Now the only thing I cannot watch on my new Sony 50" ta da ta TV is Netflix. My whole reason for buying it in the first place. PS 3d movies streamed by Netflix do not work on this TV. 3d is weak.

1. 3D - NO 3D Glasses included, To change to 3D, shutoff the play and go back to menu and change and again come back to player and resume, thats like living in 10yrs back technology 2. Voice Search: never worked till date. but on youtube from sony it is shown as working as kids game. 3. Streaming / Casting: from mobile or laptop, when ever casting 1080p video it sucks like kid crying, it only casts upto 360P, but SONY i paid for 1080 and 120Hz TV not for 360p. SONY should be punished for probiding cheap products at high price, if your Smart technlogy does not works then why selling this as Smart ? if i have to hook uo to hdmi port for everything then its still not called as Smart. returning with no more SONY, others at mich cheaper price to try.

Only issue is I had to update like 4 times!!!........
