||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picked up the Sony 50" BRAVIA 3 LED 4K UHD Smart Google TV (2024) at Best Buy in Watertown, MA last month and I’m really impressed. I am writing this review after 1 month of daily use. Setup was easy, the picture is stunning—vivid colors, deep blacks, smooth motion and even HD content looks great. Sound is surprisingly clear, though a soundbar would level it up. It was a bit difficult to connect Samsung soundbar that I had before; however I feel its my lack of understaning the technology to connect two devices. To be honest, the sound bar is not required for sony TV. The sound from TV itself very smooth and clear. Inbulid, Google TV makes streaming super simple, and I set up accounts for both my wife and me. It’s super easy to switch between profiles, and each of us gets personalized recommendations. Gaming on it (PS5) is fantastic with low lag and crisp HDR. For the price, it feels like premium quality without the premium cost. Definitely recommend and worth every penny.

Pretty good TV

I could see it being not as ideal for really intense games but that doesn't bother me. The sound quality could be a bit better but it's not bad. Sometimes it freezes for a second and occasionally kicks me back to the main menu, but this only happens when scrolling through the options. None of the negatives are a deal breaker for me personally. It's a decent TV for the price and it gets the job done at the end of the day. Also, it's nice that I can hook it up to my computer.

We genuinely appreciate your feedback on the areas that could be improved, including the built-in sound quality, for which we recommend pairing the TV with an external audio system, and the occasional freezing when scrolling through menus, which we apologize for and suggest is often resolved by ensuring the TV has the latest firmware or performing a power reset.
Your comment that the TV is not ideal for really intense games is also valuable. While the S30 series delivers a great picture, dedicated high-end gaming models offer features like 4K/120Hz support for the most demanding players.

Can’t beat Bravia on sale

TV is Okay

So I purchased the Sony 50" thinking I was upgrading. The TV itself is okay, I am not a Tecky and I think today's entertainment comes with too much unnecessary info, however the reason I am not giving this TV a better rating is because I purchased an open box excellent condition from Best Buy (BB) and they sent me via UPS delivery an open box in trash condition. After carrying it up the stairs, unboxing it and setting it up I found out the horrible condition (see picture attached). After several irate calls to BB, I found out they have the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. I wound up having to purchase the TV again and returning the trash one (wait on my refund which took weeks). BB never provided any legitimate support and showed very little concern. TV is okay for the price, but BB has no quality control and very very poor customer service. Also in this day and time of profit over performance, I am sure they don't care.

Picture is clean and clear. Excellent purchase and a good value for the price. Volume is good we added a sound bar. Perfect. Highly recommend.

Why I bought a second Sony BRAVIA

I replaced the TV (a competitor) in my living room with this Sony 50" BRAVIA because the picture has much better color contrast and is brighter. The price was right as well.

Incredible picture and easy to setup, despite the lack of printed manuals. Much simpler to use than older sets. The access to Apps and the ability to add external storage are tremendous. Interestingly the sound is much better with my existing soundbar. There are some things to not like such as a non-backlit remote and the table stand no longer has space between the legs for a soundbar.
