    Netflix problems

Have always been happy with Sony brand quality. This TV is fine in every respect except the Netflix button. Sometimes cannot return to TV or other input forms (DVD player, cable tv). Have to unplug and restart the tv or reboot entirely -- just to get out of Netflix.

I purchased this item approximately 2 years ago and it's not working properly. The Netflix works from time to time and the Amazon Prime Video doesn't work at all and claims that it's not receiving enough bandwith. Look somewhere else.

Must say extremely disappointed in Sony. I bought the floor model understanding that it was used. Did a heavy inspection of this model before loading it into my vehicle only to get it home and have the screen go out after wall mounting it hours later

I was in too much of a hurry to give this tv a 5-star review yesterday. This morning the wifi couldn't connect, and then the screen went blank and it never worked again! We called Sony and the tech told us to hold down the power button and the down button on the remote to force start the tv but that didn't work. He told us to take it back to BB for exchange. Was a big hassle and am very unimpressed!

We have always purchased Samsung tv’s but because of features the Sony offered we decided on this purchase. The warranty is for one year. We are currently 40 days outside our warranty and the sound has gone out and the screen is flickering. A call to technical support via Sony was so beneficial (insert sarcasm here)! They so graciously emailed me steps to try. If it doesn’t work then it appears I am just out of luck. I have had issues with my Samsung in which representatives have been on the phone with me for hours to resolve the issue. Never again will I purchase Sony products!

So disappointed with this on so many levels. first there is nothing smart about this TV as you cant download any apps to it. The software or application it had to DL apps isn't supported because Sony didn't renew their contract so in essence you have a useless smart TV. you can only use Netflix and You Tube. Sony's customer service is non existent and it doesn't appreciate all its long supporting customers. I will never buy anything with the name Sony on it and highly recommend you all do the same.

This tv was food for us until August 6, 2019. We bought it in Dec. 2017. Then we saw a rectangular box flickering on the bottom of the screen. There is only a year warranty. I told them they gave us a lemon and they said to take it to a sony repair and they might help with cost. I costs more to repair , I would rather buy a different tv and a different brand. I was displeased in their solution. They were vague on how they would help. They were too vague. He told me it was better than nothing.

When compared to an Insignia model or Low-end Sharp, this is an OK or even a good TV. When compared to other Sony models it's well below grade. Returned.

I purposefully asked if I would be able to download the GAIA app before I purchased this tv. I was assured I was. This was a lie after spending hours on the phone with SONY support I was advised it was impossible for my SONY TV to connect with apple devices. What a waste of my time!!!!!! SALESMEN WILL SAY WHATEVER TO SELL SOMETHING. BUYER BEWARE if you expect tech help here.

I had a set budget of $500 and was looking for a 4K TV with low input lag (for gaming) and HDR (for movies and streaming). I was already set on purchasing a different brand until I saw this TV on sale for $430 (from $700). I did some research and found this set to be perfect for what I wanted to use it for. Drove to Best Buy, went in and grabbed a set right away (I also got the 5 year protection plan for it). Brought it home, installed the foot stands and programmed the TV - which was a breeze. I initially tested the TV's Netflix built in app and ran a movie without any buffing or issues. I thought I'd have to get a wifi extender because the wifi modem is in the living room (I placed this TV in my bedroom) but the TV had no connectivity problems and streamed smoothly. Next, I hooked up the PS4 and ran it with HDR. MAAAAAN! The difference from using my 24" 1080p monitor to this was night and day! I'm glad I made this purchase. It's an amazing TV for the price, with so many features that are usually on higher end TVs. I recently got a PS4 PRO and I love how this TV matches it (been a SONY fan since I was a kid). I was going to wait until Memorial Day for a sale but for this price, I had to pull the trigger. Grab this TV while it's still on sale!

    Best Buy for the Money

I work at Best Buy in the Home Theater Dept. selling TV's and Audio equipment and look at these things all day. I tend to like the Sony's picture over the others because it suits my eye. I didn't need a TV but the 50" LG plasma in my bedroom would cause the room to be about 5 degrees warmer than any other room in the house so time for a change. I could buy any TV I wanted but just didn't want to spend a small fortune and didn't need anything larger than a 50" so after several weeks of thinking about it I bought the 690e knowing it has the 60hz panel and seeing the difference in brightness from this one and the upper end Sony's but was willing to take a chance. I may see a little jutter during fast sports but not enough to make a difference in my decision. Got it home, set it up, which took about 15 mins.and fired it up. I have to say seeing it in the store and seeing it at home are two different worlds. At the store it doesn't look very bright even with the picture set on Vivid, high brightness and contrast but at home it's a difference story. Standard picture, normal brightness and it looks FANTASTIC! Best 429.00 I could have spent on a 50" TV. Perfect detail and color with very natural hue's. Sound is like most of the new TV's, Thin but I have it hooked to a nice system so again no worries. I don't use the SMART section in the TV because I use a Firestick for more streaming options and the COOLEST feature is that the Sony remote works the Firestick navigation perfectly. No programing required. I love this, one less remote. I will be selling the heck out of these. Best Value on the Market!! Hands Down! Enough Said! BUY ONE, you won't be sorry.

I bought this TV for thanksgiving. It was advertised as an Android smart TV by the sales representative at Beat Buy. It was not. It was stripped of many features as it was a door buster. Basically Best Buy duped me into buying this TV.
