Every day there is a news story about a company being hacked and credit card information stolen. Using a pre paid card nullifies any concern of that happening. You can purchase dlc for games, movies or tv shows from Playstation network. They have a great selection.

I always purchase PSN gift cards when I have interest in buying something from the PlayStation Store. You don't have to have your credit card information stored on your PS account, and you get Best Buy points, win-win. I only wish that Best Buy had the option of sending the code via email rather than having to wait for the card to be delivered or driving to the Best Buy store.
