I went to this TV from a Samsung UN55H7150 TV, which I LOVED. Really wanted in on the 4K/HDR hype, what with the PS4k/4.5/Neo coming out later this year (supposedly). So, I decided to upgrade my 2014 1080p Samsung H7150, which I absolutely loved and had ZERO problems with, for this Sony XBR55X850D TV. Out of the box, I loved the color. My old Samsung was really bright (I was lazy and never bothered calibrating it, just left on the Game Mode defaults). The color on this Sony TV is AMAZING. However, after having time to play with it and get the PS4 set up and some gaming done, I really became disappointed with this TV very quickly. Games had a very bad "jitter" to them when rotating the camera (see Gaming mode below). And the games that didn't (like FPS's), exhibited other odd effects, like target/cursor jittering, subtitle blurring when motion is going on, etc. And this varied between both Standard video mode and Gaming (standard looked good with minimal jitter, but I got the target/cursor jittering and subtitle effect...game mode eliminated that, but then gave the jarring background jitters). Oh, Gaming mode. Let me tell you about that... Gaming mode on this TV flat-out STINKS. All the colors are washed out and muddy. Yes, you can "copy" the settings from say, Standard, over to Gaming (except for the Motion settings, obviously), which helped. However, it still didn't look the greatest and man, the jittery effect I was talking about earlier? Yeah, it's enhanced by about 75% or more. I spent almost 3 days calibrating and changing the settings, mixing different options for the motion controls, while trying to keep input lag as low as possible without having to resort to the awful Gaming mode. After this and having called Sony Support 3 times, which I was told there's no other settings that would help, I gave up. Let's just say I hated this TV so bad that I drove 1 hour and 15 min (one-way) to the next state to exchange it for a Samsung TV (the UN55KS8500 curved model). Best. Decision. Ever. In short, if you want a good living-area TV for Movies/Television/Netflix, etc, it's great. If you want it for gaming, look elsewhere. A friend talked me into trying the Sony TV (I'm had exclusively Samsung in the past), which I thought, why not - Sony makes the PS4, so they should be able to make a great PS4 compatible TV that has a great gaming picture. Guess not.

This TV, for under $1000, is amazing! The picture is so detailed. Netflix 4k and YouTube 4k seem as if you are right IN THE picture. This is my main living room TV. Great decision IMHO... The only reason why I gave it 4 & not 5 is due to the SMART TV function. I own a Samsung UN49KU7000 for my kitchen. I like Samsung's interface better.

The picture is beautiful. The HDR really stands out compared to my other TV. You definitely see a difference in resolution when using a 4K player or an Xbox One S. I am very happy with my TV thus far. I have had it for about 1 month now and have used it every day since.

Bought this Sony tv after looking at Samsungs. Our last t.v. Was a Samsung. Didn't see what we liked and the sales person suggested we look at the Sony televisions. So glad we did. We saw this one in the showroom and loved the picture quality. Have been very happy with it so far

I would wait on a 4k tv if your current tv is just fine cause your not going to come home and get picture quality like you see at the store with their repeat 4k display demo. its going to be standard 1080i coming out your cable box that wont upscale to 4k like they say it will. The tv only upscales 1080p content.

I love Sony products because they last a very long time. LOVE THIS TV! I have owned this tv for a little over a month and I'm very impressed with the picture and sound quality. Sony, thank you for all the adjustments I am able to alter to my liking. Beautiful television!!!

If you're looking for a 4K gaming TV look no further. This works great with my PS4 pro! It has incredible picture and sound You do need to change the settings to get the most out of it (Under HDMI input and display) Would recommended for anyone that wants to 4K game

I bought this tv to replace an out dated one I used to be a Samsung fan but after I bought this I'm only going to be buying Sony from now on. I liked so much that I took this one back and bought the 930 which is the better version. The android features are great as well.

We had high def tv for a number of years....could not believe the difference after we bought this Sony tv. We love it!

My wife and I bought this 4K tv a week or so before Christmas! It was on sale for $899. We primarily watch football but we do have kiddos who also play video games! For those two purposes and for the sale price this TV is perfect. Football looks amazing! Sharp! Crisp! Clear! If it weren't on sale however I probably would not have bought it

You will not be disappointed! User friendly smart TV set up! Beautiful crisp picture quality. Customizable picture, color, motion, and sound options. Top of the line quality build. Durable sturdy base (not lightweight plastic like some other brands). Highly recommend!

Nice 4k truluminous TV. Great colors. Superb 4k experience.

Going from a 46" 1080p TV to this 55" 4K was mind blowing! Some people say they don't see the difference, maybe because they don't have the original quality next to it to see. The HDR effects are unbelievable, especially when gaming! Gaming on the PS4 Pro with this is like a brand new experience, and seeing how washed-out the colors are without HDR is shocking. You can access Hulu, Netflix, YouTube, and many other streaming sites, and can download many more things from the store (this is an Android smart TV). However, I use my PS4 for all of that. My only complaint is that since it's not an OLED, it doesn't have quite the same feel. You can see it when the screen is supposed to be black, but on this TV it's actually grey. Still, not enough of a problem to drop my 5-star rating!

We went back and forth about whether to spend the money on a SONY. Did mega research about HDR, Aspect ratio etc. Had the Geek Squad deliver and set up. Replaced a 40 inch SONY Bravia. Love the 4K and smart TV options. Can get all ESPN games not televised in our area.

Simple to operate and a really beautiful natural picture... Last time I bought a TV was in 2003. I researched carefully and for the money this worked out to be one of the best purchases I have made. I decided curved was a gimmick and feel now that was correct.

I had just bought an LG OLED for our main movie and sports watching, but needed a second tv in smaller room - this one is just right for us. Excellent value for a very fine picture with excellent color. I like the smart features as we often watch Netflix on this tv.

After reading several online reviews as well as multiple store trips to view Sony and Samsung TVs, I feel as though I got the best TV for the price. It provides a great quality picture and the other options it provides (App use, home screen options, etc) are excellent.
