It is a 2016 model. It is a smart TV so you need to have either WIFI connection or an Ethernet cable to connect to the back of the TV. I have used my Pandora and Spotify account to stream music, check out the local weather and go onto YouTube. It's not mandatory to have a google account but it makes it easier to use Google related websites such as Youtube. I would recommend this TV to a friend.

We/I have always had a plain old school TV, technology has changed the TV watching experience & the many abilities of entertainment just with a TV. This is a great value purchase for all the entertainment abilities in one device & would recommend this TV to anyone wanting to think about buying this TV.
