This TV feels years ahead of Samsung's or LG's operating systems. Combined with the hardware specs of the TV, it's very fast. You can instantly launch apps after turning the TV on. It has a a ton of features and the image quality is superb with Sony's image processing capabilities. Wife and I were pleasantly surprised with the built-in speakers. They are actually better for watching movies late at night than our Polk system since the bass is lower and the sound processing enhances voices while lowering other sounds. The TV is pretty thin and has a high end finish, making it look much more expensive than it is. I haven't used the 3D features to comment. The only reason I docked one star is because the TV doesn't get very bright, so I recommend not putting it in a bright room. Read other reviews for more details.

This is a really nice TV , I decided to go with the Sony even though it cost more than others . The sound is not great, I may get a sound bar. The picture is very crisp and clear. You have to spend quite sometime setting up the TV to get the color and sound right . I chose cinema home for my color set up and then used the graphic equalizer for the sound. I paid 899 for this tv but now see it is on sale for 799 . This is a really good deal, I would rather have this tv than a 4K from another company.

first off, I am a plasma guy (first TV was a Pioneer Pdp-4280hd purchased at best buy), so buying a new Led/lcd was a hard choice from the start. As I sift through the mass of TVs, I come across this Sony. I was very impressed by its color reproduction and black levels. After about a month I decided I would look further into what TV's had to offer. To my surprise, this particular set looked better than its 4k sister in my opinion. I tried very hard to try out others, but ALWAYS came back to this one. So I bought it and could not be happier with quality or the price.

I chose this TV based on the reviews and have no regrets. It has fantastic picture and sports is excellent with the high refresh rates. It seems to also have Bluetooth, which isn't even advertised and barely mentioned in the owners manual.

If you purchase a TV for great picture quality, 100% you should go for this TV, but if you look for a good Smart TV, I wont recommend this TV. Most times, internet WIFI drops, Video lags, buffering takes a longer time. So better buy a Roku and use with this TV, it will be worth for money. This is an Active 3D TV, and Sony don't include glasses. Its a great drawback. Since its active 3D, glasses are also very expensive. Good TV for picture quality But as a Smart TV, Sony didn't do a great job. Remote quality is horrible, just a poor plastic piece. If you move more than 150 degree out from the TV range, remote don't work. You always have to point the remote to the TV. I hope Sony will improvise because as a consumer we spend like 900+ bucks including taxes for this TV. and we expect a good quality product from a company like Sony. Very disappointed with this purchase.

Keep in mind I had a Plasma 720 resolution previous to this 55" Sony LED 1080. I like the TV Guide, I use an antenna to get the major networks like ABC, and when you use the guide button on the remote it pulls up the channels you get from your antenna and tells you what is on and coming up. That's just one cool feature no one tells you in the store. It's very quick at loading Netflix and I'm sure that depends on your provider, I'm comparing it to a six year old Sony blue ray player, so take that into consideration on the "quick speed" comment. Overall great picture, finding myself watching more on the TV now a days.

After a horrendous experience with both Samsung and LG panels, we decided on this more than capable very well priced Sony. The picture is spectacular, there are MANY settings available to configure the picture to your desired setting, unlike the LG and Samsung. Blu-ray display is spectacular, streaming speeds are blazing fast. This TV is quickly confirming that 4k is little more than a sales gimmick at the moment. Very very happy with the quality, features and display.

As the tv only worked for 24 hours it is going to be hard to give "full" review...with that being said...the tv has a fantastic picture and the smart features worked with out issue. The only problem is that the sound went kaput after only having the tv for 24 hours. Best Buy has me returning the TV today for another one...hopefully this on is just a lemon. Other than the sound issue the tv worked perfectly. I really enjoyed the picture and the android OS. The tv is also quite pretty...amazingly thin.

Saw the TV in the store. After looking at a few samples, I choose this one. At the time it was delivered, I just purchased a TV stand. Since it wasn't set up, I had the guys just connect the TV to the cable and put the TV stand up later. Tried several times to get the TV to mount to the stand. After several attempts I just gave up. I've had the TV for over a month now and just found out two days ago, that this time isn't a mountable to a TV stand, that you have to mount this to the wall. Prior to all of this, I went back to the sales person and explained my situation. He told me that since I didn't purchase the TV Stand from Best Buy, that it wasn't going to fit. I told him that a TV Stand, is a TV Stand, is a TV Stand. After I said that, all he could say is that all our TV's fit the stands that we sell. I had to go to a major competitor of theirs to find out that the TV is not able to mount to a stand. The TV comes with it's own stand and should be on a wall. It was obvious that he didn't know. Had I known this, I wouldn't have purchase this TV. Because the TV is sitting on the shelf, I will now have to figure out how to boost it up. The speakers are located at the bottom of the TV, so I have to turn the volume up real high to get a good sound. I ended up purchasing a sound bar, to help out with the sound for now, I will need to figure out how to boos the TV up, so that it won't look bad. Adding a couple of rems of paper, just won't do it. If you are okay with mounting this TV to the wall, then it's a good TV. Nice picture.

Excellent color and it is very clear. Was debating between this and a 4K. Can't even tell the difference when they were both next to each other. Great buy.

This TV is great for playing video games. There is no lag and picture look crisp and clear. I bought this TV only because I'm a gamer and it didn't disappoint me. I tried other brands and didn't like them because of the lagging. Over all this TV is awesome however the only CON is the sound is a little low compared to other TV's I have purchased. But a sound bar will do the job. Even though sound is low ill give it 5 stars.

Originally picked up a Vizio, but the picture quality is subpar. Returned it a week later and got the Sony. Great picture. Great contrast. Good sound. Very fast UI. Stand not as sturdy but certainly will not fall. All in all, not a perfect one but a great TV to have in your living room or bedroom.

This is a great TV for the price. The contrast is excellent for an LED TV, the picture is wonderful, the speakers are good, it's native 120hz upscaled to like 960 or something crazy, it's a really nice TV, lots of HDMI ports and Android TV built in so you can cast stuff easily. Really great TV!

I love all the features including amazon instant video, the WiFi & the Bluetooth... but nowhere in the manuals nor the best buy employee could provide me with the proper 3d glasses necessary to enjoy the 3d capabilities on this tv. Only after purchasing an incorrect pair of glasses, an unnecessary 3d transmitter and spending (not exaggerated) a total of 40 minutes on the phone with SONY was I able to determine that this television is already equipped with a 'transmitter' and the CORRECT glasses needed (TDG-BT500A).

This tv has a great picture but after it is running for about 1/2 hour the sound goes out of sync. It is very noticeable and the only way to correct it is to turn the tv off for about 10 minutes. when it comes back on it is fine. Kind of annoying to watch the sound out of sync and to have to turn it off. If anyone knows of a fix for this please let me know.

I bought this TV on 10/11/15 when it was on sale. I have had it for over 3 weeks now and am haappy with the crisp picture quality. Sony could have done better with the sound , you have to boost it up to 40 to hear it. I hooked it up to my Sony theater system and it is working ok.

First of all, I never give perfect scores, so a 4/5is the best I'll give. Secondly, the tv is great!! Honestly, I when I first watched it, is was shadowy and not they type of dark and rich color I was used to. I thought my older (7 years flat screen 42") sony model had a better picture. I had to spend a little time tinkering with the visual settings to get it right. I guess that would be one complaint - this should already be a standard setting. But I guess everyone has preferences. My advise on this tv is to not accept the standard settings and play around with the different settings (especially advanced settings).

Lots of features, Picture quality amazing. Different types of Sound and Video settings, 4 HDMI. Games from Playstation Now no game console required. Really good TV and good price.

Picture quality is great, minimal calibrations to get good picture. HOWEVER, believe all the reviews that say the sound quality is poor. Have to turn it up to 40+ to get the same sound output as my Samsung gets at 10. The Smart features are not streamlined - too may menus/clicks to get to where you want to go - if you've never had a smart tv it won't bother you but if you have it can get frustrating.
