Setup instructions a little vague, especially unpacking since damage could occur if not handled properly. Had it for two months and happy with it. Had to initialize to factory settings a couple of times to get settings to my liking. Uverse remote not 100 compatible and TV remote not 100 compatible with uverse, Need for two remotes!

3d feature is not great. Sometimes I picture looks blurry. Good only for watching hd movies.

I bought the 850C after 2 months of research on 4k tvs. I wanted clear and bright picture , expanded color, and HDR future-proof. After I got this TV home, looked through all picture settings and watched a Blu-ray, I was completely underwhelmed. It was just OK picture. It was never truly eye catching color or crisp, life like images. It was just a dull picture. I reset the settings to calibrations I found online, but still no improvement. After giving the TV 2 full weeks and a variety of tests, I took it back. I was not going to spend that kind of money to be just barely content with the picture. I ended up getting a JS8500 48 inch set and even though it's smaller it knocks the socks off the 850C. Overall,the dull picture is what did it in. Oh, and the local dimming was awful. During the credits of the Blu-ray it was trying to turn off and on the whole screen. Really annoying. Thank you best buy for taking this back.

The Sony has a Great Picture, the Android TV is Great!

This TV is an excellent Smart TV with 4K upscaling

For a 4K Tv, the quality or sharpness was not as good as the Samsung 4K curved 55"

sony hd tv this product does not look like the picture shown in the showroom,i expected a comparable picture to my plasma tv and am very disappointed. I realize that the 4k hd tv has limitations as far as being capable of showing pictures only when broadcast in hd the picture otherwise is grainy and not sharp.

I needed a new TV as my Pioneer Plasma died (sad day) My max size is 60" due to size constraints. Wanted to keep the price @ $1500 or less. I looked @ many different offering like Samsung's JU8500, JS8000 & JU7090 & the Sony 810C. Didn't bother with Vizio or LG's. I kept going back to the 55" XBR850C every time. After looking @ several reviews online & postings on the AVS forums I decided it was my pick. It's not a perfect panel #but what is# The upside is decent. Being a PV panel the blacks are very solid. The viewing angle isn't so great #PV shortcoming# This doesn't bother me as I watch directly frontal view. Since the recent price drop, it's the best 55" for the money. HDR, PV panel, uniform blacks, no clouding & outstanding build quality. Also some of the preset video settings are very good. I tried countless different combinations online & the best #for me# is the "Cinema Pro" It's simply "spot-on" Some cons are semi-weak stand, gray uniformity isn't the best #very slight DSE# I have a slight issue with my Pioneer AV receiver with the Sony switching over to TV speakers. I need to upgrade anyway to a 4K receiver. The voice controlled remote is ok, I use the standard remote. Tons of apps. Android based & love it! In the end, I'm happy. I'll be keeping this set for 2-3 max & bump-it up to my bedroom. I'm waiting for OLED prices to drop & get their reliability record to cleared up. I wanted to mention that I looked @ the Samsung JS8000 #60"# very hard. If it was on sale like it is as I write this #$1499.98# I think I would have bought it. But it wasn't @ the time & I couldn't justify the extra $500 difference.
