    I was so excited about getting this TV with the android OS but sadly it did not work right and I had to return it. The apps kept freezing and in 3 days I had to do a factory reset 3 times.

    Not sure why. But watching Amazon Prime and MLB the show's are choppy, almost as if every other frame skips. 4 Samsungs in the house all play correctly. Other programming has been flawless. Very frustrating.

    Our old TV was 17 years old when it finally died. We have come into the new millennium with our new tv and love the results! Hope this one lasts another 17!

    I really like the quality of the picture but when I'm on Netflix or any other internet service and I turn the volume up it starts to skip.

    Sony Smart TV not reliable

    Yesterday this Sony 55'' TV simply stopped working. I have no idea what happened. I am very surprised because I have been a very loyal customer to Sony televisions. I first purchased two 42'' TVs in 2008 and both are still working fine twelve years later. Strangely enough that the upgraded model stops working almost immediately after the three-year extended warranty expired. Please help!

    Screen was cracked

    When I opened the box, I noticed the screen was cracked. I took the TV back to Best Buy to return it and they were rude and accused me of cracking it. They would not accept the return and said I would have to contact Sony regarding a manufacturers defect then laughed and wished me luck. I will never return to this particular store.

    This TV comes on by itself often in the middle of the night. Numerous complaints all over the web about this model. Sony won't even acknowledge the issue. It also loses wifi and I'm always having to reboot it. Worst purchase I've ever made!

    Amazon video will not work on Bravias

    A known issue that both Amazon and Sony are ignoring. Prime movies require total TV reboot during every session. Best buy should be informing consumers. I would have purchased a Samsung who I had been previously loyal to.

    I was so excited to purchase an android TV but, it kept freezing and had to be reset constantly to factory settings so after a week of ths I returned it. Maybe once they tweek out this issue I will try it again

    I used to own a 55" Sony projection, 1080p TV for 15 years and was fully satisfied with its picture, sound and durability. Gave me no problem whatsoever except that I have to replace the lamp recently. So, I decided to look for a Sony replacement. When I went to Best Buy to look for one, they offered me a Samsung 1080p for 700 dollars. After installation and setting the Samsung, I found it not fitting to my taste. So, I returned it the next day. That's when I noticed new boxes of Sony TV just arrived and were displayed in racks on the floor. I told the clerk that I would try the Bravia powered XBR55X700D 55" 4K model for 200 dollars more. I had great confidence that this new Sony would meet my expectations. Boy,was I surprised-this baby is the real thing. Great pictures, great sound & great color, much, much better than the one I replaced-and this is just coming from the 1080p broadcast. The one small feature but important to me that goes with this TV is that you can hook it to your existing analog stereo system for an amplified sound, That saves me money by not buying a new 5.2 sensurround system since I already have a stereo system. Great buy, I guarantee it.

    Where do i begin. There are so many good things to say about this tv. I was in the market fot a 4k and this one is by far the best. The auto upscaling is amazing to be able to veiw every thing in 4k is so cool. The set up was easy i google best calibration for my tv put it in and wow. My wife and i just stare at this thing and prior to getting it i cant tell you one show we watched together. I did buy a sony soud bar but with it off the sound is still decent from just the tv. I mounted it to the wall that was a breeze ive used some of the smart features and its really easy to navigate i got a controller and my kids love being able to play games on the tv i like i didnt have to buy a gaming console. I cant imagine any tv out performong this one i compared them all the only thing that compares os the oled at 2000 more dollars. Even the other sony models look the same as this one from 7 feet and beyond im going back to get another one for my bed room and one for my mom. Take the time to do the calibration there on you tube and you can google it. You will be glad you did. The tv processes sound faster that the picture so go in a change your sound setting to off so its not upscaling the sound you will avoid the lip sync issues

    Excellent Quality TV Right Out of the Box

    This TV is excellent quality. The picture quality is very good, even from afar. The brightness is very good, and the blacks are very deep for a standard TV. I am impressed with the refresh rate. I like that there are multiple HDMI ports. The only things I don't like about the TV are; - It will turn on the TV automatically if you turn on something hooked up to the ports, but sometimes this feature doesn't work. For example, my Apple TV is hooked up to an HDMI port, and usually when I turn the Apple TV on, the TV will turn on after automatically. Sometimes this feature doesn't work, which can be annoying. - If I unplug the TV it can take an awfully long time to boot after - One of the HDMI ports was faulty right out of the box. It seems like it has a loose connection. It isn't a major problem, and isn't worth returning the TV but it is slightly annoying - The remote works well, but the main buttons are too close together, and can be pressed by accident

    How much better can it look?

    I read the reviews and headed to Best Buy because this set (Model: XBR-55X700D) was on sale for 699. The 850 was 899. The staff couldn't really explain the difference in the models other than richer colors. A detail I missed on this model is in the Q&A - this is a 60hz native vs 120hz on the 850. That's the major difference. After a few days of watching my normal series shows, Netflix and football; I'm extremely happy with the 700. I really don't know how much better the 120hz can look at this level of resolution but there's no ghosting that I can tell. The only gripe I have now is with content providers. I can see flaws in skin that were unnoticed in 1080p HD. Special effects look a bit less special now, but my family Marvels over the screen quality. A very worthy upgrade for us and I will likely be happy in 5-10 years when I might finally upgrade to 120/240hz. I replaced at 52-inch Sony Bravia 1080p that's 8 years old and still working fine in a different room.
