The X1 Ultimate Processor reproduces images a bit more naturally than the LG CX. Both have great panels (I believe both are made by LG themselves), but the image processing on the Sony is superior. The LG is still good, but when doing a side by side (picked up the CX from Target), the Sony looks slightly better. It's not a huge difference at all, but if you want to eek out as much from the picture as possible (especially upscaled content), you're better off with the Sony.

Even the sound is decent. It took a little time to get it set and understand all my options but I’m getting there. Can’t wait to upgrade my sound bar to a Sonos Arc and get some superior sound. I’m trying to make the set up clean and simple and use only one remote. Had the Sony remote had amazon and a back light, I’d already be there.

The sound from the speakers in the screen is really good so I decided not to go with a separate soundbar. I have 4K service through Direct TV and have no problem viewing 4K channels on the LG TV in the den. However, to date, even though this Sony is supposed to be a 4K TV I've not yet been able to view any of the 4K channels on it. I've gone through all the Sony settings and have not found anything specific to 4K. Hoping I am simply overlooking a setting that the Geak squad can assist with. Overall I am very happy with the Sony.

Im experiencing the world of media streaming in brilliant colors and the god like blacks. The UI this tv uses only adds to the love i have for it, since user interface is so bare bone minimalistic it comes off as sleek and doesn’t ruin the viewing experience. This TV was crafted with the viewer in mind and you could really feel that. Which doesn’t surprise me since the price is so high. This TV is worth its weight in gold. What does surprise me is this is the entry level premium Sony OLED TV. So this as cheap as it going to get. But once you are in, you are in.

This thing is amazing...especially when viewing 4K content through Amazon Prime and Netflix. Recently purchased a Sony 4K ultra HD Blu-ray as well. (Never owned a Blu-ray before.) Can't wait to check out some 4K Blu-rays. I thought it would be years before pulling the trigger on an OLED (hoping the prices would come down). But I got a great deal on this TV and it's worth every last penny I paid for it. If you're on the fence about the A8H, don't be. Put this thing in your cart and buy it.

Adjusting the stand to accommodate a sound bar requires a single Phillips screwdriver. Directions are straightforward. Illustrations are accurate for assembly. Android (Google) TV is quick, response. Sony provides a wealth of customization options for picture settings, etc. For enthusiasts, be aware while this TV is supports Calman AutoCal, unlike LG, there is no internal signal generator. This display requires an external signal pattern generator for use with AutoCal. Out of the box picture quality is one of the best. If you can find this TV on a deal of the day or for less than the current A80 or A90J, it’s an excellent value for price. The largest difference between this TV and newer models is lack of Sony’s XR processor or “cognitive” AI functions on the current 2021 models.

You Won’t Be Disappointed

Always resulting in buyers remorse. I am so glad this was not one of those deviations. I have a 2017 Sony 65” 800 series 4K tv that my whole family loves but the OLED technology just doubles down on that perfection with this new model. Only downside was a downsizing to a 55” but for a $1200 Best Buy flash sale, the price couldn’t be argued with (not even by my wife who could argue that the sky isn’t blue) Pull the trigger buy the TV, DO IT…..

My first OLED, and has me hungry for more. Got the 55 inch for my large bedroom and now my main living room TV an X900E is not as fun since this is the best picture I've ever seen. Not a gamer, so didn't care about HDMI 2.1. Some minor bugs when switching audio via eARC, but absolutely no other complaints. Would buy a second, larger one, in a heartbeat. Once you experience Sony OLED, it's hard to enjoy anything else. The picture is phenomenal.

I vacillated between this and the LG CX and I'm guessing you can't go wrong with either. I chose the Sony because of their processors and I'm very happy. The OLED technology is the best on the market. Picture, clarity, blacks, side viewing, etc. Pay the extra for OLED and you will have your TV for much longer than a lower priced LCD/LED making it more cost effective in the long run.

The picture and sound are awesome, but getting peripherals like hard drives to work properly can aggravating to say the least. Some apps can become extremely slow and unresponsive as well.

The room has a high ceiling resulting in difficult-to-hear acoustics, even with the sound bar I had been using. I currently own two LG OLED TVs as well but got this TV due to the possibly better sound, without a sound bar. I'm very happy with the TV. The picture is as good as the LG and the sound is excellent. The room looks cleaner without keeping a sound bar. The user interface and remote control are easy to use.
