Yes, OLED is a bit more expensive than standard LED but trust me when I tell you that it is TOTALLY worth it! Pay the extra money, it isn’t much and you won’t be sorry.

The blacks are amazing and it's so good that I sometimes don't even notice it's on. Sometimes I hook up my computer and it has a black desktop background. At night I can't tell where the background is. Anyway, be sure to have 4k enabled video such as Netflix and Youtube. Sometimes Youtube auto selects to 1080p so you have to manually set to 4k. The only negative is the glare. I have a ceiling fan fixture and two bulbs point away from the TV at a 45 degree angle and I get glare. I need to turn down the brightness or turn those bulbs off individually. Overall, I still love the TV and it's the best I've ever owned.

Great SONY A8H OLED

It was last year's model and so there was a nice price reduction. This 4K OLED has a sharp picture and great color. This has been a terrific upgrade.

Family really enjoys movie night and the sounds allows you to focus in on voices which is a nice feature considering voices seem muffled on our prior TV. I love the picture quality and speakers are an upgrade to my other Sony tv purchased in 2015. It makes a click like sound whenever I turn it on or off but I think that is normal during turn on and off. I do, however, hear it here and there makes that click like sound when the tv if off. Not sure why the reason is but not major enough for me to give it less than 4 stars.

Sometimes we like to just use the TV speakers and these work well as we can hear them over the pellet stove. Spectacular picture with UHD discs. Still a bit light on 4k streaming content but where available the set shines. On screen manual stinks. Hard to imagine Sony needs to save a couple bucks on a $2000 set.

The 55" model took less space than my 50" plasma, and not as heavy. The built-in Android device is nice, but a little different than the Roku devices I'd been using. One thing I would prefer is a flat, broad base with more mass, to help the stability; it isn't always possible or desirable to run wires to the wall.

I had a hard time spending this much money on a TV even on sale but since have decided it was well worth the purchase. I see things in movies I never noticed before. It was an upgrade from a 4K LED and still noticeably different.

Connected easily to our Onkyo surround audio system and Xfinity 4k tv box. Took about 45 minutes altogether to set up. Did away with the need for a ROKU. Voice commands work well.
