The reviews were good and the size was what we were looking for. Great picture and the TV speakers are decent. If you want a great TV on a budget this is the TV for you!

Amazing TV for the price

We swapped out some furniture in our bedroom and wanted a larger TV, and this 55" 4K Sony TV was a perfect fit. I mounted it high on the wall so now we can lie in bed and feel like we're at a movie theater. Sony TVs will always be my first choice!

I have a 65 " Sony in the living room but wanted something a little bigger but with the same operating system. Didn't think going from 50"t0 55" would much different but it was. The Samsung it replaced is a good tv, I just don't like the operating system. Also the Sony is overall the better picture and sound. Can't go wrong at this price. I do miss the RCA inputs because I use some vintage equipment. It does have 4 HDMI inputs and 2 USB. Easy access to the inputs which I like because I can easily move my wireless Logitech game controllers back and forth. If you can afford to step to the 120 fps. do it but 60 fps. works good on this size screen. Again: Bang for your buck = SONY.

It is excellent I was discouraged to get a Sony TV and I hadn't bought a TV in 10 years so I was really shocked Sony is the best at least this TV is so nice I love every part of it! The picture is so clear and it's easy to use I am so happy with it and it's worth every cent I did get it on sale so I got a great deal but still it's worth every penny way better than the other two that I'd take him back and was very disappointed in!

Between Good and Very Good
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I appreciate the look of the display, colors tones and textures are natural, blacks and contrast support the palette. The only critical comment is that it could be a tad brighter. If your room is bright or has daylight pouring in, look elsewhere. This is my first Google TV. It takes a bit of attention to learn the functions and navigation but the setup was quite easy . I like the OTA channel guide and favorites implementation. Sound is just adequate and is what I would expect from a thin TV, but I don't use it. A Gripe We watch local channels OTA. Time Shift for OTA TV is a very important feature for me and the lack of it in a TV in this price range is glaring, but my research showed that most manufactures do not implement this function in the USA. It seems this an agreement to force you to buy local channels and it is infuriating. AI searches regarding whether ate has the feature are mostly wrong. TCL is about the only manufacturer that gives it to you. We have one, but wanted a better picture in the new TV, hence the Bravia. I got around the issue by buying a Tablo DVR ($100) which allows program recording etc. It works well and integrates on the Sony well. It's early days yet so time will tell if my rating changes.

Recently I noticed the picture was not as bright as before. After much consideration, I decided it was time to upgrade. I went to Best Buy and saw this 55” Bravia that would fit perfectly in my space and it was on sale! I have had the tv for about 3 weeks now and love it. Picture quality is great and sound is clear. I’m 75 now and looking forward to this Sony lasting 16 years or more! Oh, by the way, I gave the old tv to a worker at my apartment complex and he is using it and enjoying it!

PLAY WITH THE SETTING FAR A COUPLE OF DAYS ETC... TILL U GET THE PICTURE QUILITY YOUR LOOKING FOR. OH, HEADS UP, YOU CAN NOT HAVE SPEAKERS ON AND HEADPHONE O AT SAME TIME.NO MATTER WHAT IS ADVERTIZED. CALLED TECH SUPPORT AND THEY HAD TO GO TO ENGINERING TO FIND OUT THE INFO. IS WRONG. BUT THEY INFORMED ME THAT WITH AN ADAPTER THAT PLUGS INTO THE FIBER OPTIC PORT ON TV YOU CAN MAKE IT WORK. PURSHASED A CHEAP ONE TO SEE IF WORKED ,OK. PURSHASED A MORE EXPENCIVE ONE & WORKED MUCH BETTER. SPEND THE MONEY.YOUR EARS WILL THANK U.

We got a great deal. The TV was easy to set up. We have it connected to our WI-FI to stream shows and also connected to game consoles. The picture quality is surprisingly clear. We purchased a low grade Sony sound bar which connected easily and streaming shows is a pleasure. One bonus about this Sony we did not realize at the time of purchase is it also easily connects to our Apple devices without needing Apple TV.

Best Black Friday Purchase ever!

Bought one for my mom during black Friday sale and accidentally got one slightly too big because I didn’t understand the sizing but she’s OBSESSED with the tv! Always on it and even got a new table for it. Looks super clear, runs smoothly, and was easy to set up! Would definitely get this tv again.

One thing you need to do after purchase is to Google the picture settings (brightness, sharpness, black level, contrast, etc) and then apply them through the settings mode. The user manual does not provide setting recommendations for settings.
