Awesome TV

Cons it only has 2, 2.1 HDMI ports, one of the being a ARC/EARC. For a gamer with a PS5 Pro and a Xbox Series X I can’t use the ARC for my sound bar without buying a new expensive sounded bar with 2, 2.1 HDMI ports to pass to my console tru. I used the audio digital out cable and it took me days to get the audio delay out of it, watching a movie or playing a FPS was impossible with the audio delay. Sony needed to have 4, 2.1 HDMI ports on this TV.

Best Buy Purchase and Set-Up

No pressuring, they were patient with every one of my questions. When I finally decided, Patti was very thorough in explaining every detail of my bill and the various timelines for returns. Logan and Kennedy were the Geek Squad members who helped me set it up. I could not be happier with the purchase and service that I received.

Best processing yet (with a couple of bugs).

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Definitely a step up from the A80K,much improved video processing and color saturation.Now able to apply your video settings to all inputs and narrow stand options that both I have been telling Sony to have.Does have a issue with the eARC port that affects the video and issues with the Wi-Fi connection that with a software update will fix.Don’t bother calling Sony about this problem because they will just think it’s your issue with your HDMI cable or something other than the tv.

Beautiful Picture, Horrible Device

Sad because the picture is beautiful, love the OLED and 2.1HDMI & Dolby Vision. But it constantly doesn’t even turn on! It forces me to unplug and plug it back in 2x a week. I bought it not even a month ago, and wish I had gone with an LG or something that works as advertised. Aldeady had to factory reset the TV, but still the same issues of not turning on when hitting the power button continue. Will probably be returning it since I have 60 Days. Very disappointing. It’s acting like my old Bravia which didn’t have these issues until 5 years in.

We are sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues with your Sony K55XR80. If you still have the TV, we would like to ensure that you get the best experience out of the K55XR80 TV.
To troubleshoot the issue where the K55XR80 TV does not turn on and requires you to unplug and replug it, follow these steps.
Unplug the TV power cord from the wall outlet (or from the back of the TV if the power cord is detachable), wait for two minutes, and then plug it back in. Ensure the power cord is securely connected. Using the remote control, press and hold the POWER button until the menu appears, then select "Restart."
Alternatively, navigate through the TV menu: Quick Settings → Settings → System → Restart → Restart.
Turn off the TV and disconnect all external devices such as USB drives, hard drives, and HDMI-connected devices. Turn the TV back on to see if the issue persists. If the TV works fine without the external devices, reconnect each device one at a time to identify if a particular device is causing the issue.
Also, please verify that the wall outlet is functioning by connecting another device. If the TV was connected to a power strip or surge protector, try connecting it directly to the wall outlet to rule out issues with the power strip.
Ensure your TV's firmware is up to date. This can be done through the TV settings menu. You can also check for the latest software update on this link: https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/oled-tvs-android-bravia-8-xr80-/k-55xr80/software/00346878

GoogleTV Makes Latest Bravia Disappointing

But the GoogleTV integration is gratuitous and non-performant. Does not sync audio and video when using optical connection to a Sony receiver. Poor sync between audio/video is also present when using HDMI with or without the eARC interface - workaround requires using a Developer setting to limit background processes to 2 or 3 - setting reverts to default after restart (which is frequent because of auto-update). Overall: Boo!

Disappointed

But I thought that was an anomaly and I purchased this one, a more expensive model. I am disappointed with the brightness when in the cable mode. I have seen a few glitches, I think this one will have end up having tuner issues as well. This might be my last Sony.

Picture mode settings provide preset adjustments for the type of picture you are viewing. Picture settings also allow a wide array of changes to color, contrast, clarity, and brightness that can improve the viewed content on your Google TV. The picture quality may improve if you change it in [Picture] under [Settings].
