I had really thought that the quality that the Vizio had provided was amazing, but it was nothing compared to Bravia. My only con so far is this random bug that keeps changing the television’s picture settings to Vivid after I changed the settings. I restarted the TV and haven’t had this issue again.

I love this new Sony 4K TV this year.

Also, I liked it how they allowed to switch 1080p to 4K display on Roku as I only watched HBO max, Disney +, Amazon Prime, and Netflix. The good news is my 4K blu ray player allows me to adjust the volume from the ultra blu ray remote control as the same Sony brand and roku stick at the same time.

Cool features but bad picture quality

Nature scenes and animation look really good and crisp. The problem shows up when I try to watch cable or some shows on Netflix. The picture appears blurry and the screen lacks contrast during these viewing experiences. Some objects, people’s faces, and the background also appear pixelated at times. I’m really disappointed at this quality considering the price. It’s almost like there is no upscaling at all. I’ve done all I can to fix this problem in the settings and nothing works. Idk if I got a lemon, or if this is how the TV actually is. I love the features (all the streaming apps, multiple picture modes, good sound quality, and google assistant) but I’m sadly going to return it due to the bad picture quality on cable and Netflix. No clue what to exchange it for.

However, we're sorry to hear that you are having issues with the picture when watching cable or shows on Netflix. We'd like to help troubleshoot the issue and make this a better experience. May we know if Netflix an app from the TV or from your external device? As far as your experience with the blurry and lack of contrast when watching cable shows. Picture quality depends on the signal and content. The picture quality may improve if you change it in [Picture] under [Settings]. Press the (Quick Settings) button on the remote control and select [Settings] — [Display & Sound] — [Picture] — [Brightness] and adjust [Brightness] or [Contrast].
We'd like to isolate the pixelated picture issues. May we know if you are experiencing this when watching sporting events or fast-action programs? If so, you may change the Motionflow setting to off and set CineMotion setting to Low or Off. If the issue still occurs, the video or program you're watching could be the issue.

The best viewing distance depends on the size and the display resolution of the TV. The recommended distance for comfortable viewing depends on the video or program you are watching, the viewing environment, and the physical conditions of the person watching it. When watching the TV from a suitable distance, we recommend to look away from the TV every now and then, or try watching it at a different viewing angle.

We are sorry if you are having a 4K quality issue with our Sony Bravia TV. This is usually not the case with our premium TVs. Your X90J is a 4K UHD Smart Google TV and it supports 4K HDR content. You may experience low picture quality if the source has a very low quality. The quality will also depend on the settings and connections especially if you are playing content from an external player.
