    This TV has worked quite well right out of the box! The Geek Squad installed it for us. They were very knowledgeable and answered our questions. They gave us instructions on how to access TV channels and the streaming services that we subscribe to.

    Fake warranty, but Best Buy saved the day

    The fast forward stopped showing thumbnails and images had terrible ghosting. I called and wrote to Sony many times and they said it was external and not due to the TV. The did remote diagnostics and said they would not send someone to look at it. I tried two of my other TVs (a Samsung and an LG) in th same location and they were perfect. This was a total waste of money. I called Best Buy. They send Kevin from the Geek Squad to look at it. He said it was the motherboard. He called SOney from my house. They never got back to him or me. He then came back to my house and replaced the motherboard. That fixed the problem. Best Buy was great. Sony was unbelievably bad. A fake warranty.

    This tv has a lot of software issues. We’ve been dealing with constant freezing and lag. We constantly have to restart the tv, and it’ll sometimes just randomly shut off on its own. I am not impressed at all with Sony.

To make sure your TV runs as smooth as possible, we highly recommend downloading and installing the latest software for the TV.

      If your TV turns on or off at regular intervals, such as 30 minutes to an hour, it's likely caused by power saving functions such as Idle TV Standby, On Timer, and Sleep Timer.     While the picture quality is good. This TV, unfortunately performs well below expectations. It’s slow and restarts are frequently required. It will freeze at least 2-3x/week. It will also lose its WiFi connection 3-4x/week as well.

    Great TV but was ultimately too small for my needs. Probably better served in small rooms or a bedroom. Other than that I had no issues. I ultimately wound up Returning for a 65 inch of the same model.

    This is a great TV. I bought this TV for my older parents who are in there late 70's. It is a very easy tv to use and I love the google platform. My parents had an 18 year old Sony flat screen that is still kicking but wanted to get them a new one. They love it.

    Find a Different TV

    This XR X90K Model replaced my J model that I purchased back in June and the Geek Squad installed for me. The J model developed a situation where the picture just suddenly blanked out inexplicably. The issue developed within the first 60 days of the purchase so Best Buy replaced the J Model with the K model right after Labor day. We took a week long vacation came home and flipped on the TV only to have have the K Model lose it's picture as well. It has gone out 3 times since and each time I restart the TV internally and it seems to work for a few days before blanking out again. The GE Repairman was in the house working on our refridgerator this last Wednesday when the K Model lost it's picture again. We use Youtube TV streaming and tried Hulu/Netflix just to see if there was a difference. The picture split right down the middle and displayed partial graphics. YouTube was just a blank screen. The GE Repairman said it's a chip inside the the tuner. When the chip is defective it will cause the screen to blank out into a single vertical line or a horizontal line. Either, no picture. Since I'm o for 2 with Sony I will be calling the Geek Squad Monday. I should still be well within the return time frame. Best Buy has been great throughout this ordeal - no issues at all when I called and very helpful. Just a poor product. My recommendation is find a different TV until this chip situation is figured out.

    Great Picture - Doesn't Play well with Devices

    Though this TV has a great picture and was a huge upgrade from the older 4K TV, that is where it ends for me. I have our main Cox cable box connected and first bought a Denon S970H and returned it for a Denon X2800H because of problems with the first turning on at random times after shutting down the system. Well, that didn't fix anything. The problem is the Sony TV and I researched everything at this point to stop the Denon and Sony from using auto power settings, but the Sony still prevailed. This TV and its controls want to own what you attach to it and I have tried everything to solve the issue through settings. I did manage to stop it from turning off the main cable box that was causing problems and confusing the operation of the cable box but it still attempts to turn it on each time the TV is turned on, I have not been able to stop the New Denon from turning on. I am sure this is a problem with the Sony and it makes the overall use of the very nice "all new" components including a Panasonic high end 4K DVD very frustrating. It automatically switches on the receiver when the TV starts. If we want to watch TV without all speakers from the system, I must turn off the Denon. After tuning the amp off, it looses connection to the TV and becomes non-functional for anything until we restart the whole system again and let the Sony TV restart the amp. Again, the Sony takes control. If you plan to use this in conjunction with anything above a sound bar, you will likely experience similar problems. My apologies to Best Buy for returning the original amp since this was a Sony problem but the new one was a nice upgrade and I am happy with the Denons performance. Too bad this is occurring. I always had confidence in Sony up to this point. In the future I will not buy anything with the Sony name on it.

    Best Buy Warranty Contract Replacement

    Replaced a 3-year-old Sony TV with this one. Has all the same features for an exchange swap out. The Google Android upgrade System is easier to work with. Remote is smaller and more user friendly.

    Bought this TV for my parents. It has been NOTHING but problems since the day I set it up. The TV sporadically fades to black every so often and needs to be powered down and powered back on. It also sporadically resets settings. I've factory reset the TV twice and still doing the same thing. I'm very disappointed in this product and with Sony. I've been on the phone with support multiple times as I believe they should replace the TV. I DO NOT recommend buying this TV

    Like how easy it was to mount but wish i had a hard copy Manuel but found on line,the sound is tiney so I bought bar made all the difference in the world
