A few little things would make this set better

Bought this to replace a Samsung that appeared to have a malfunctioning HDMI port. In the two most important ways, this Sony is a much better set, even accounting for the differences in their specifications. For starters, the picture quality is more consistent, and looks better from an angle than the Samsung, which wasn't bad, but tended to look washed out in comparison (especially from any angle other than straight on). Next, the sound quality is less anemic than the Samsung, the thin sound of which prompted me to get the soundbar I've been using the last couple of years. (I'm going to continue using the soundbar, but that's mainly because I've become used to the low frequencies provided by the paired subwoofer, and TV sound seems thin without it.) There are some other nice features the Sony offers: The remote control is much better than the minimalist remote that came with the Samsung. Its layout makes much more sense—and I'm already noticing that I'm less likely to press the wrong button by mistake. (Although the Samsung remote has a solar recharging feature and a USB-C port, eliminating the need for conventional batteries.) The "screen off" function is a nice surprise. In conjunction with the sleep timer, you can have music or a video play you to sleep without having to contend with the brightness of a TV screen. Audio sync (between set and soundbar, if you're using one) is automatic—a lot more convenient than having to experiment with coarse manual settings that might work for one input source but be slightly off for another. The volume control is a lot finer. On the one hand, it feels a little weird to turn the volume up to 50 (it goes up to 100); on the other, that means it doesn't go from zero to full blast (this is with the soundbar) in just a small number of presses of the volume control. There are some things that could be improved with this set, however: 1. The operating system. Whether it's Android (Google TV) or Sony, a lot of stuff is buried in menus (including that annoying sound every time you press anything on the remote—when I did find the setting to turn that off, it was several hours later, and I found it only while I was looking for something else). And setup is a lot more involved than it needs to be—for example, it really shouldn't be necessary to install yet another app (Google Home) on my phone, yet that was required in order to use the QR code to avoid having to do a lot of "typing" with the remote. (Plus I'm not a fan of Android anyway.) 2. With the Samsung, everything connected to it was essentially integrated to the point where it wasn't necessary to have all remotes handy. For example, to watch a movie, turning on the blu-ray or DVD player would also turn on the TV, with the correct input selected automatically (even if the TV and player are different brands)—no need to turn on the TV, then the player, and then change the input using the TV remote before starting the movie. Unlike the Samsung, however, the Sony has a "Quick Settings" menu that enables you to select the input and make other adjustments without having to go to the home screen and then locate the appropriate submenu (which was easy to miss on the first try because the Samsung menu's layout was not as intuitive as it should have been, resulting in a lot of skipping around with the cursor). 3. The sleep timer only goes up to 120 minutes. (A little thing to be sure, but the Samsung's timer went up to 180, and the LG I had before that went up to 240.) 4. The Sony was really slow reading the contents of a USB flash drive when first inserted. It took long enough, in fact, it wasn't until I had formatted and loaded videos on a second USB flash drive that the set was able to display the contents of more than one folder on the first drive (except for one that contained only still images)—which easily took about an hour. I never encountered any such delay using that same drive with the Samsung. In the end, though, it's a television, so the picture and sound quality are what's important. I can put up with the little inconveniences—although I hope they will address some of them in future updates.

This is an excellent television. The color, sound and operation is great. The set-up was easy and quick. The size is just right for my master bedroom. The 4HMI connections provide me the greatest options for connecting other devices to the set. The color really sets this TV apart from others- it is excellent! The picture quality is beyond my expectations, and the sound is stellar, even without a sound bar. The remote control settings are incredibly user-friendly for this senior citizen. I purchased the Sony 55" Full Array LED TV for my garage man cave. I have a similar 75" version of this Sony Bravia TV in my family room. I've owned that for a few months, no issues, love it. Compared to my two-year-old regular LED 4K TV, the Sony Full Array LED TV offers superior brightness, more vibrant, eye-popping color, and deeper blacks. Ultra HD content looks amazing. Streaming movies makes you feel like you are at a theater. Sporting events make you feel like you are there in the stands. Teams with red uniforms are just wow! It is hard to describe how this TV renders red colors for example - it is simply out of this world. Xbox games look and play great. The Google interface is intuitive, and works well. Sound quality is very good. I am very happy with my Sony Full Array TVs. If you are looking for a premium but slightly-less-expensive alternative to OLED, can't go wrong with Sony Bravia Full Array LED TVs.

I researched and read the reviews and went with this LED TV from Sony, never been happier! My biggest concern was the sound quality without having to use a speaker system…this tv has great sound! I have it mounted on the wall and near a corner which makes it even better sounding! The sound is rich and adjustable to fit your needs. The picture quality is amazing! The colors are vibrant and crisp. I have this set up with my PS5 and a Sony BluRay player which work great together! The PS5 is amazing on this faster refresh rate of 120 hz and has improved my gaming over my older Sharp TV with 60 hz. I’m very happy I went with this tv from Sony!! A great TV if you’re looking for one!

I always believed in the quality of a SONY product. It's always better to spend a little more and get something that is going to last. The picture quality is breath taking.I bought this one because it has the ATSE 3.0 tuner in it! Now I'm 4 k ready for broadcast material! The only thing I have an issue with is that the remote removed the numbers for the channels, otherwise it's a fantastic product!

I’ve had for just over 2 months at this point and it is meeting expectations especially with the rather low price compared to other models. I was sad to see that I can’t use Dolby vision and VRR at the same time but at least local dimming and vrr work. There are a lot of settings, most of which will be confusing for light tech people but very easy to google. I was sad to see a few dead pixels (as to be expected) within a day but they are barely noticeable. Got this for the Series X and 4K@120FPS works great. Just wish they made Dolby Vision easier to use and not buried in the settings when connected to an Xbox.

      Hi Drake,
Thank you for your time writing this review. We are glad you like your X90K TV. However, we are sorry to hear some difficulties and issues that you are experiencing with the unit. Allow us to help make this a better experience.

High-precision technology is used to manufacture LCD and OLED displays to maintain a high standard of operation. However, with all LCD/OLED screens, regardless of manufacturer, a small number of dots may not change color. This is normal operation for LCD and OLED screens for all manufacturers. Most defects are only noticeable when an all-white or all-black picture is displayed and shouldn't be noticeable under normal operation. Sometimes dead or defective pixels correct themselves over time. For reference: https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/articles/00026287

Nice TV, But Surprising Changes From Prev. Models

The TV itself is excellent with clear bright screen and good sound. If you don't have expectations from owning a previous SONY Bravia 55" TV then you will likely be happy (4-5 stars). However, if you have owned a previous Bravia 55" TV, then you need completely check out the specifications to make sure this newer model will meet your requirements. In our case, we were surprised and very disappointed. We had owned and loved the earlier XBR-55X900E for 5+ years when it suddenly went dark and could not be repaired. Our mistake was thinking SONY would keep key design features the same so we ordered the TV without doing our research. Big mistake. The biggest surprise was that stand had changed from about 20" wide to over 40". This meant it no longer could be placed on our 36" TV furniture so it had to be put on the floor. When SONY decided to widen the stand (to accommodate an optional sound bar), they could have easily and safely provided a customer option to put the stand closer -- but they didn't, so buyer beware. We are still trying to figure out what to do with our TV. The second surprise was that they eliminated the headphone/audio-out jack. We had used that to control an amplified sub-woofer and it worked great. They do have a digital optical audio output, and there are inexpensive adapters to convert to mini-plugs, but unlike the headphone/audio-out jack the optical audio output cannot be controlled by the TV remote in parallel with the TV speakers are in use. Another simple feature they could have retained but didn't think to. Finally, if you are still using older devices with RCA, S-Video, or composite outputs be prepared to purchase HDMI converters. It only has one mini-plug input capable of RCA input and that requires a special wire adapter.

For nearly a decade I've been a Samsung fan. After a recent trip to a local best buy, the associate showed me the latest Samsung Tizen model but did recommend considering a Sony "Google" tv that was similarly priced. I knew that if I wasn't satisfied, I could return it, so opted to give this brand a try. The new interface took some getting used to but I liked the recommendation it displays across all my installed (and some not) apps. The apps load quickly and the tv boots up fast. It has more HDMI ports than my previous tv and an excellent picture. Though I use a surround sound system, I was surprised by how well the built-in tv speakers sounded. Probably one of the very few models I've seen that would sound just fine with no auxiliary audio devices needed. I thank the employee for recommending this and consider this the best smart tv I've ever owned. I strongly recommend giving this or the OLED model a try if you're curious. I certainly kept mine.

I love this TV - the peak brightness is excellent, the wide array color palette is excellent, and the blacks come through very nicely for a non-OLED panel. The only issues I have with it: the picture looks washed out when watching from a wide viewing angle, and sometimes blooming is very noticeable. Otherwise, I'm thrilled with it. It's a great TV for current generation gaming.

Picture quality is great. Only issue is angle drop off if you have a wide room. From 80% of room picture awesome. About 20% of it you get a fairly deep drop off in terms of quality. This is to be expected with this type of tv. Would consider this a great buy.

Very good television. Great picture and very easy to set up. I now am able to use the ARC function and that is very nice. I like being able to plug all items via HDMI into my tv and also my receiver and now I can great HDMI sound no matter which device I'm watching.

This is the first Sony tv purchase for me. Will also be the last. Picture quality is good, but that's about all it has going for it. When you first power the tv on in the afternoon it take 2 or 3 minutes before you can input anything from the remote. We stream and have an hd antenna. Upon power up you have to let it sit a few minutes before you can even view programming with the antenna. Super laggy. It also puts a notice on the screen saying "No signal. Antenna not connected or program unavailable". I clearly have a program guied and a picture. You have to power down and back on to get rid of the notice plastered on the screen. (Photo attached) Firmware is up to date. We also watch Pluto tv and have to load it on the settings menu everyday otherwise it doesn't show up on the program guide. So annoying!!! I've always had Samsung in the past and will again in the future, no more Sony tvs for me!!! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

This TV has been nothing but amazing for me. It's very bright, has vibrant colors that really pop, great sound, and a lot of customization. On top of that, has support for higher refresh rate for gaming. 100% worth every penny.
