    Not for Gaming

    This is actually a five star TV as far as TVs go but not for gaming for the reason I will mention below. They issue is that Sony had a mandatory update today, January 7, 2023, that negatively has impacted the game mode and the input lag went from 15 prior to the update to now 70. As long as you don’t want to use this for gaming, we can highly recommend it. Prior to this update it was also great for gaming and now it is useless for that and there is nothing we can do. We have only owned the TV for 2 months and now need to buy a different TV. If you are looking for a gaming TV look at other options. If you are looking for a great TV for anything but gaming, this is a great TV.

    Very "SMART" tv

    Overall the tv is good quality. This model has a ton of features. The only drawback I've found is some of the features are hard to find and or use. Very little instructions come with the tv. Sony is still a desirable product, though.

    It’s ok, picture is good, sound is good, but wouldn’t spend the extra $$ on it if I had to do it over. It isn’t mind blowing or anything, just a tv. Don’t overspend on a tv like we did.

    Hard to set up if you don’t have a google account. Resetting is cumbersome. The picture is fine, can be dark at times, despite every setting being altered for brightness.

      Using the Google software allows you to fully utilize the functions of the TV. Once the Google account is added, there is no need to set it up again.

    It’s fine, but not able to attach a sound system

    The TV is fine, has some decent “smart” capabilities and the image is alright. My complaint is the lack of input/outputs. This was purchased as a gift along with a really nice sound bar but there’s no optical port. Had to jimmy rig the system and can still only use the sound system when watching another source.

      Hi ARose, Thank you for sharing your review. It's great to hear that you're satisfied with the smart capabilities and image quality; however, we understand your concern about the lack of input/outputs. To clarify, this TV is actually equip with an optical port (labeled digital audio out).
      The X90L has certain limitations when it comes to input and output options, which can cause inconvenience for users wishing to connect additional audio equipment.     Broke after 18mo, no options to fix

    Backlight went out after very light use (5 hours / week) for about 18 months. Warranty period is stated as one year and no repair options in my state so Sony's only recommendation is to buy a new one. Frustrating to say the least given the purchase price.
