Great TV! Can't believe I own a TV like this
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first 4K TV purchase and I must say this wasn't my first choice. This is how I came to purchase my XBR55X900E. I was looking into the market to purchase my 4K TV without breaking the bank.and was told by numerous people that the TCL 55P605 TV was the way to go. So while at BB, I saw the TCL TV and was impressed by it. I mean 55" 4K TV w/120Hz refresh rate, HDR10 and Dolby Vision. How could I go wrong? A week in and the audio on TV tuner had no audio. I'd have to change the channel to a digital tuner channel with audio and change it back to analog channels in order to get any type of audio. I always have to mess with the picture settings everytime I turn on the TV because picture looked greyed out. Then audio syncing to picture started to drift on all inputs (TV, PS4, in app, bluray player, apple tv) no matter what I had it on the audio and picture wasn't syncing. Don't get me wrong, the TCL is a great TV and I probably got a lemon TV out of the bunch but I was making a purchase for the whole family and not just me. So I took it back and wanted to get another TV which bought me to look into the Sony X900E. This is the break down to me.... PROS: 1. Superior picture quality. The best I have ever seen in any TV that I have owned. 2. Native 120hz. I like the soap opera effect on my content. 3. Android TV. Not much of a android user but its pretty ok to get used to. 4. Remote. I like the remote especially talking to it and its pretty responsive. 5. Price. The price I bought it for was $1,199 and got a price adjustment when the price went down to $999. Get an extended warranty on your TV people. Its worth it. CONS: 1. The power brick. Kind of an eye sore if I say so myself. 2. Kinda bummed that this is doesnt have Dolby Vision but since its not the standard now....I'm ok. All in all people you get what you pay for. Never go too cheap on a TV. It will bite you in the rear.

This TV is overhyped
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Grainy images with some HD netflix. The colors are hard to get right. I should have stuck with the Samsung MU8000, but they both are overhyped this year. It isn't worth $1000 but it's an average TV and better than my 2009 one.

A little disapointed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the upgraded 900 series because reviews and the sales people said it would have a much better picture then the next cheaper step down. I can't say at this point that the picture is any better than my 10 year old 1080 tv..

Good picture but, What did they say???
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sound on this tv is very poor. If you are in the next room you can hear it much better. I am thinking the speakers come from behind and point out sideways. Almost like you need a sound bar in order to enjoy the television.

Remote/TV Ir reader broke after 3 weeks.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The TV is awesome and the picture is crisp and beautiful. I got it on sale which is always a bonus as well. One night I went to turn off the TV and I couldn't use the remote. The Sony blue ray player remote happens to turn off the tv so I was ok. The next day called Sony and went through the troubleshooting to have them tell me my TV is faulty and I need a new one. Luckily I'm an elite member and I will just to return it to Best Buy but do I get the same one...idk. In hoping it is the bad lemon in the store...

RIP MY SONY
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.#RIP : In her short life, she was a beauty queen with a bright face and clear eyes. She had many admirers and brought joy to everyone that knew her. She died at just 3 years, which is way too young for anything on a payment plan. The doctors said there was nothing they could do, so goodbye my sweet lady. Thanks for the smiles you brought in your short life.

Totally Worth the Price!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I walked into Best Buy a few days ago expecting to purchase a smaller, more budget friendly TV. That didn't happen, instead I ended up with this beast of a television. I had my old TV for nearly 8 years, it was a 40 inch Samsung LCD. It served me fine, but for the past several months, I really wanted a new TV. Just didn't want to pay the price, even though it was time for an upgrade. This TV simply is stunning from every aspect. There are hardly any bezels to speak of. The metal is gorgeous! It's a fine looking television from a material stand point. When you turn this puppy on though... that's when it gets fun. Set up was a breeze. I prefer iOS/Apple, but I do have Samsung tablet, so it made getting everything set up really quick and easy. The picture is amazing. I can't believe how amazing it looks. I don't know how much better OLED can be than this picture. The blacks are black. The colors aren't overly saturated. There is no jutter or motion issues that I've noticed. The OS is Android TV, and this was a hang up for me at first when considering a TV. I've read that it's sluggish, and just not very user-friendly, but I'm pleasantly surprised thus far. I haven't experienced the OS being super sluggish yet and it's easy enough to navigate. Sony must have upgraded the OS enough since earlier in the year so that it's really made a difference. NOTE: I will be getting an Apple TV, so the OS won't be that relevant to me much longer. Now, the good part. I purchased a nice 15ft HDMI cable for $15 at another retailer (avoid the overpriced cables) and hooked my PC up to the TV to play games on it. Yeah, I like to use a controller for many games... sue me. Anyway, the games look gorgeous maxed out on this TV. Not that they don't on my monitor, but there's just something about playing them on a nice 55 inch TV.. I don't know what a XB1X or PS4Pro looks like, I don't have those, but I can imagine they look close enough to what I did with my PC. This is a stunning TV. The android TV OS leaves some stuff to be desired, but in my experience, it's not that bad. I would recommend getting an Apple TV, Roku, Chromecast, or Fire TV to go with though, it's probably just a better experience. It seems great for games, no matter the source.

Good picture, features are buggy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was excited to get this TV. Why? Android TV. I wanted something that would interface seamlessly with Alexa and Google Home. Unfortunately, it was only so-so on either, and now it doesn't work at ALL on both. Oh yes, Sony's tech support will tell you to unlink and relink it, and factory reset it. After that, they'll ignore you. In fact, it's been a week and a half and I've been writing them regularly - no response. Funny enough, my cheap Vizio works great with both. What happened, Sony? You used to be the "Premium" brand.

Jagged edges, not smooth lines on picture
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had to turn in Sony X810 because of service issues (2 times) the 900E is more expensive but not any better picture. Rough lines unless the picture your viewing is broadcasted in 4K.

Absolutely Greatish. Not for the average tech user
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Image is crystal clear. Takes some tweaking with the settings. The reason for the 3 stars is the underlying software is really buggy. My TV has more problems than Windows 10.
