This Sony - 55" is my new experience to watch tv. it is my first 4k tv and I can see the dramatically difference from my old tv. I would recommend this tv if you're looking for new 4k tv with great quality and great price.

The tv picture is crystal clear which looks amazing in 4K. The smart tv on the android platform is great as well since the past Sony TVs didn’t have that feature. Huge improvement

I wanted an above average 4K ultra SMART HD TV, but didn't want to break the bank either. I've always loved the Sony brand and this one doesn't disappoint. The picture quality is great. Watching sports and using it for the PS4 is even better. There is no lag at all and the picture quality again is outstanding. There are plenty of applications already installed on the TV as well. The other thing I love is the mirroring as my wife has an Apple device that she uses for indoor cycling. She is able to put her class on the big screen with an app installed on the TV to use Apple on the Android Sony TV. About the only thing I could say is negative about the TV is the sound, but that is the same issue on all TV's these days. Thus a sound bar will be the next purchase.

The picture of this tv is very high quality with crisp definition. I'm a Directv customer and many of my HD channels look almost 3D because the picture quality is so high. Very little motion blur too. I'm very happy with it.

Picture quality a big upgrade from prior HD set. Set up reasonably simple for a non-technologist. Paired easy with sound bar. Not so simple integrating TV remote and cable remote so for need both to operate the set.

I bought the XBR55X900E as a step up into the 4K arena after owning the Sony KDLW55950B. The 950B was 3D capable and had a amazing HD 1080p picture which I was more than happy with. Although as a gamer i recently bought the new Xbox One X which is 4K capable so i figured the time was now to make the 4K plunge. After a lot of research i landed on the Sony 900E. My first impression was its build and appearance was sturdy, strong and sleek. The initial setup was easy and quick. The sound quality is more than adequate. I did notice my old Sony controller responded immediately while the new one was laggy and still is. The old controller does everything the new controller does except the voice commands so i use that one. Although the voice commands do work nicely. I've read some reviews complaining of the TV homepage and apps having lag. I believe this to be a problem with the new controller because i have no issues with my older Sony controller working quickly. On to the picture quality. It was not what i was expecting at first. After some research I found that only HDMI ports 2 and 3 have full 4K HDR capability. It's important to note this. Since i swapped my HDMI ports around the picture has taken a noticeable step up in quality. All content looks 1080p quality or better, often much better. The 4K upscaling works great especially with any CGI, newer or remastered movies but it is only available in 2 settings, Cinema Pro and Cinema Home. The latter being the brighter picture. I found much of the HDR talk is based around how bright the picture and colors can get. The 900E is capable of amazing colors and great contrasts. While this looks stunning and is great for a bright room. I personally find a slightly darker picture to look better and cause less eye strain. The 900E settings had no problem toning this down without loosing detail. I have played 4K HDR movies off of Netflix and it really looks perfect. i can't ask for more from it. The viewing angle is not the greatest with the picture graying out the farther off center you move, but is to be expected with a FALD screen. My biggest gripe with the TV is the Game mode. As a gamer you want low input lag and low motion blur most of all. The input lag is ok for a 4K HDR picture. The problem is with the motion settings. There simply aren't any. You have either off which is much more blurry than my 950B was or custom which allows you to to change "clearness" which does't change any blurring at all but just makes the picture darker or lighter. As counter intuitive as it was as a gamer i tried the Cinema Home setting because it has plenty of motion settings and the 4K upscaling feature, presumably to upscale 1080 games i hope. I have no idea what the input lag differences are but i don't notice them. The picture looks incredible and setting motion to the smooth setting, there is absolutely zero motion blur. The background objects are perfectly clear. The big problem is this now adds judder artifacts around some things. Most games i see nothing. AC Origins is really bad around the character as it moves. I have spent a full week trying different settings to get around this with no luck. Sony needs to address this problem in some way! I currently use cinema mode and am getting used to the occasional artifacts so i can get perfect motion blur with a amazing 4K HDR picture. Hopefully there will be some updates for game mode for the gamer's considering this is on most all of the top 4K gaming TV lists i read. In summary the TV is built well. It handles cable with its 4K upscaling great. I am disapointed by the game mode and lack of settings for motion but the Cinema mode is making up for it but at the cost of the artifacts. While i am satisfied with the gaming i am not sure if i would recommend this TV for gaming. After a few trips to best buy there does not seem to be a much better option that i can find or am told of switching to. The controller it comes with needs a fix as well i believe.

I made a few adjustments to enhance the contrast and blacks to get the picture exactly the way I want it to be and it looks great. So far so go.
