The picture quality of this set is outstanding, but the built in smart features open slow and don't respond quickly.

The colors and darkness in this TV are awesome. I had to see the display and compare it to other TV sets and this one was the best. I am so happy that I waited for this model to come out.

Great picture, responsive and many apps. Happy with viewing angle and 4K viewing awesome. Downside is google tv operating system has quirks such as turning the TV on at random times.

The pictures on this tv are excellent! I love this tv as the set up was easy and it is easy to us. Only negative is that you have to spend time learning how to use this "smart" tv!

We had a great plasma flat screen we purchased over 12 years ago. It had an excellent t picture but was very bulky. It finally went out. I went into my local Best Buy and told the awesome high school salesperson that I wanted the best for under $1,000 in a 55”. He pointed to a particular flat screen. Then I told him I wanted one better. I had plenty of reward points to help. He really knew his stuff. We have had it for a couple of weeks now and just love the picture and clarity. I used to be a huge Sony addict and have veered away in the last decade. I’m back with a vengeance! I would purchase this again in a heartbeat.

The quality of picture is superb. The tiniest details are clear on this t.v. The colors are intense. It gives the feeling of "being there". We would buy this all over again!

I love this tv!!! It is so colorful and quality and sound is just amazing!!! Works even better with a 4k ultra player! You will be amazed!!! Sony has gone a long way!!!

Like the picture and other options. Lucky I have a sound bar to help , because sometimes sound is not perfect.

This is best hdtv by far in terms of color, definition, brightness. I also have Samsung, hitachi TVs as well but Sony has best quality and picture. Cannot be happier.

Haven't had a single problem with the tv itself. The only issue that I had was with the horrible remote they sent me. It was slow to respond to my button pushing and when I opened up the back to check the batteries, it was completely covered in acid. Had to buy a brand new one. Other than that, the picture of the tv is great and overall it is simple to use.

My wife and I decided to replace the Vizio TV she had mounted in the "theater" room. The theater room is painted a deep, dark grey for all vertical walls. The ceiling is acoustic textured off-white. A large sectional in dark grey occupies much of the square footage of the room, Two small wall-mounted lamps give the room light in a muted fashion. At night the room is completely dark with no ambient light. My reason for saying the above is my wife spent a great deal of time assembling the viewing room for maximum effect. After several months of laborious research, we decided upon the 55" Sony XBR55X900E. What sold us on the Sony was a conversation my wife and I had with a Best Buy Sales Associate (SA). He advised us of the many merits of the Sony versus our other considerations which were the 8000 and 9000 55" Samsung's. He backed up his assertions with demonstrations in the show room using side-by-side Sony 900 vs. Samsung 8000 and Sony 900 vs. Samsung 9000. By the time we finished with the SA's demonstration's, both my wife and I were completely convinced of the TV we would buy. Unfortunately I cannot remember the young man's name who assisted us that day as I would like to give him a resounding "good show". This SA took a considerable amount of time to help us make an informed decision - which ultimately is a WIN-WIN as we get what we want and know it to be the best choice amongst all possibilities and Best Buy has less returns and wasted inventory. The Sony 55" XBR55X900E is one of the finest TVs I have ever seen, my wife says it IS the best she has ever seen. We have been binge watching "Game of Thrones" and the colors and resolution are absolutely jaw dropping. Indeed, there exists the OLEDs and other exotic technologies but only a small amount of content to enjoy. This TV is accurate in its color reproduction and faithful to the source whatever that may be. I understand the lag on this TV is quite low and thus I may get one as my main monitor. I do a lot of high-res PS work and the 900 series in a 55" would be beyond incredible!

After doing our homework and comparing the Samsung vs. Sony, we decided to go with the Sony. The sales reps at the store couldn’t have been any nicer or patient while answering all of our questions. It definitely helped us make the most informed decision. We love our new tv!

I didn’t realize how dim my previous TV was until this was set up. It was like turning a light on in a dark room. I can also now read things that are on the screen, which is great for my eyes. I would strongly encourage a sound bar, but they just make ALL TVs sound better.

Happy with my purchase. Blu rays and anything 4k looks great. Cable through Comcast isn’t anything special but that’s not the tv’s fault. Surprisingly happy with the sound quality and not needing a sound bar. Very easy to hook up.

First off let me say don't bother looking at anything else in this category because this is the TV if you want both great picture and smoothness in motion. I've had quite a few very nice TV's in my day, but this is by far the best. You can't go wrong with this one.

I am normally a Samsung guy when it comes to TVs, but the Sony really caught my eye in store. Bright, crisp picture and the improvement over 1080p TVs is immediately apparent, even when viewing content that isn't 4K. I've done a lot of gaming on it and performance is excellent, and so far everything looks better than on my previous set. I also bought a PS4 Pro to go with it and it's simply stunning when you watch or play something in 4K. I was genuinely surprised by the improvement, as I wasn't convinced it would be so obvious. Highly recommended, and a great value when on sale, you get a lot of performance for this price.

This tv is clear and defined pictures. The colors are deep and true to life. It works well and the directions are siple to understand and tasks are easy to perform.

I researched 4K 240 motion rate tv's for 6 months. Came down to lg, Samsung, a Sony. After looking at them in the store I couldn't stop going back to the Sony so that's what I bought. Would recommend a sound bar.

This is a very good TV & very pleased with the picture quality & would recommend it to all my friends. Great TV for the price. Easy to set up on antenna & Fire TV!!!
