After experiencing burn-in and returning a 55" TCL LED (6 series), I decided to take the leap and get the TV I originally wanted. I knew this was a crazy amount of money in relation to the TCL, however after experiencing them both, I can only say, wow! This TV has completely and utterly blown me out of the water! After deciding to upgrade to 4k for the first time after feeling spoiled watching my 42" Pioneer Kuro Plasma for well over 10 years, I knew it would take a lot to impress me. This Sony OLED exceeds all of my expectations, and then some, and to me, is totally worth the extra money. No ghosting, deep blacks (as deep as I had with my plasma), fantastic speakers (through the screen!) and a picture that is just mind-blowing. I've got this bad boy mounted on my wall and it looks like a work of art!

The picture is great. It was esay to set up. This is my first Sony TV ... because they typically are more expensive than models with simialr specs. During the unboxing and mounting the quality of product was very evident. Becasue I've separated from dependence on cable it was important to me to have a TV that supported 5G versus 2.4G which is what I was finding with many other brands Looking forward to many years of enjoyment

This tv has excellent quality picture. Great blacks and bright colors. Am very happy with the sounds as well. The only downside is the motion speed. If you play video games on this tv you may get disappointed. Overall a very good tv. I would recommend it.

This will be my second Oled TV in my house as an addition to my LG. I like the Sony better due to it's Android TV user interface is a lot easier to use! I'm a wedding cinematographer and I love how accurate the colors and detail this TV has. I definitely recommend the buying the extended warranty from best buy as TV manufacturers don't know how to fix tvs no matter what brand you buy. All they know how to do is sell.

The 55 inch OLED Sony TV has the most vivid picture and amazing sound, it makes for the perfect addition to my Family Room. It has the google assistant which my google home device will operate its sound and additional special features. Having a FIOS TV Sound Remote will give full operation to this Sony TV.

I couldn't be more excited about a TV! My new Sony OLED looks great in my living room and offers the best, most colorful picture I have experienced! I am especially impressed with the full screen sound. I had planned on buying a separate sound bar, but was not necessary. TV was expensive but worth every penny!

Love this Sony OLED Smart TV. Excellent picture quality. The sound comes right out of the screen so no real need for a sound bar. You can still add a sound bar, but I have mine mounted above my fireplace and the sound still fills up the room. Highly recommend this TV.

Fabulous picture on my new Sony TV. I am very glad it's mounted above the fireplace. It's like being at the theatre. I do wish the sound was louder at a lower volume number. I don't want to purchase a sound bar.

Here's the scoop: We had a 1080p Sharp TV from 2008 for many years. My dad buys a Samsung 55 in. 4k UHD TV (240hz) back in 2017 and the picture quality was, of course, incredibly mind blowing compared to what we had. Now fast forward about 2 years after using the Samsung TV, I buy this Sony OLED TV..... I WAS NOT EXPECTING IT TO BE THAT MUCH BETTER THAN THE SAMSUNG TV!!! The colors, contrast, sharpness, motion-smoothness, clarity, etc! All of it is absolutely mind blowing compared to ANY Samsung TV! Pros: + Absolutely the best picture quality, ever. Some say the LG OLED is brighter and punchier, but the Sony is a bit more color accurate and has way better motion, which is a winner imo. + Smooth interface (not the greatest since it's Android TV, but it works well!) + So THIN, as any OLED panel would be, but the cable management system on the back, with the plastic panels covering them is wonderful! + So LOW; I have never seen a TV sit so low on a TV stand before. Put it on a TV stand that is made out of black tempered glass, and it works PERFECTLY! + Acoustic Sound; yes, you should never rely solely on TV sound, always upgrade to a quality sound bar or surround sound system. However, if you don't want to wake your neighbors in your complex, the acoustic sound is crystal clear and has a little bass to keep the audio feeling fresh! Watching Planet Earth 2, I intentionally didn't watch with the sound bar because the sound is way more accurate on the TV, making for a really awesome experience! Cons: - Possible burn-ins. Although it's been proven that burn-in is less and less likely with each OLED iteration, it's still a possibility. Easily remedied by turning your TV off after a few hours, for about an hour, and don't leave any static images on for too long! (like a pause menu from a game, or CNN). - Dim. TV is not as bright as, well, any other competitor. However, keep this TV in a smaller and darker room, like a home theater for example, and you will LOVE it! My apartment doesn't get much light anyway, so this TV just works super well. Overall, this TV is absolutely amazing! I got it open-box, and because it's last year's model, it was a killer deal. No regrets here!

The image quality is outstanding when you have a good source. Everything shown in 4k looks great. 1080 images and blu ray discs that are upscaled by the tv to 4k look great too. Older sources and regular dvd's are upscaled but don't look nearly as good as 4K or 1080P but this is not the fault of the tv. I would recommend a video source that is 1080 or higher if you really want to enjoy the image quality. This tv also sounds excellent with it's internal speakers. I don't think you need a sound bar or a sound system unless you really want to have a theater like sound experience. Sony is known for its contrast and color and this set does not disappoint. Very pleased so far. As far as the ease of use goes I prefer to use my Roku Ultra player vs. the Sony software because I like the Roku platform and am used to it. I give the set a value rating of good because it is expensive but the quality is EXCELLENT!

Purchased this TV for its picture quality and its innovative built in sound system that is integrated into the screen. The Good: crystal clear picture, sleek design, amazing upscaling. Most 1080p content from usually cable and Satelite boxes looked substantially better. Great refresh rate with no judder The Bad: compared to other OLED’s in the market, the picture is a little dark. If you are accustomed to OLED t ‘s, you find it too dark The Ugly: compared to the web OS and other pointer style remote controls in the market, Sony is light years behind here. This proved to be too much of an experience disappointment and I brought the tv back as a result. Otherwise it’s an amazing TV.

Unbelievable picture. I was a little desensitized when I was in the store because there were so many TV’s on display, but once I got home and turned it on, I was blown away! Easy to set up and install. My existing wall mount brackets fit perfectly and the cord length was plenty to run behind the wall. The TV is a little heavy and will take two people to lift and attach to the wall. Due to the thin bezel I wouldn’t recommend doing this by yourself, even if you consider yourself strong. You need to be delicate with the handling. Plenty of inputs that are properly placed (unlike Samsung). Remote is similar to Samsung so it was an easy transition. My only dislike was the amount of online connectivity features that smart TV’s come with. Voice recording, app recording, etc. I don’t like any of that so I chose to disable it all. I enjoy the sound, but I also really enjoy the Bluetooth that allows me to connect my wireless headphones to the TV. I mainly run my Apple 4K off of it. But once and awhile I’ll use the built in app to run Netflix or HBO. OLED allows for deep deep blacks and beautiful brightness. You don’t need to increase the brightness, this TV really balances out of the picture perfectly. Clarity is top notch, I couldn’t ask for a better picture.

I had a 55" 3D ( remember them) HD TV. The transition to my new 4K is unbelievable. I'll admit at first it was hard not to be distracted by noticing freckles and other blemishes on the actors and newscasters but that's the price of having great definition. The colors are true to life. I just love everything about this TV. I would recommend having the Geek Squad set it up for you. Why? Because there are a lot of screens to go through to set this TV up. The menus allow you to get the best picture for your tastes and allow you to integrate all of your apps. Yes you can do this, it's not hard to make each decision, but the Tech helps you get it set up like you want in a very short time. Remember, you can always go back and change any menu you want. The TV is expensive, but well worth it. Also, the price of the Geek Squad is worth every cent.

A friend got a new TV for Christmas & was telling us how nice it was.Our TV was 11 yrs old. One morn when it was turned on a puff of smoke came out of it. I called my friend & asked him what we needed to have on a new TV. He said make sure, OLED, 4K, Smart TV, HD. When we gave this info to salesman he said there were 2. We got a 55" & we love it.We could not hook it up, so his son did it for us. We had an issue w/the sound on our old so we got a sound bar. The salesman said this TV adjusts the sound itself & he did not think we would need sound bar. The issues I had were corrected on the TV like he said they would be. so the sound bar went back.We had ROKU to get some additional channels but we don't need it now b/c this has it built in. When I told my friend what we got he laughed & said it is the exact one they have.

Let me say this upfront, I used to be a manager at Best Buy, 7 years, and I have been around computers, tv's and other electronics most of my adult life. I can say with all honesty, that this tv is absolutely one of the best that I have ever owned. This is an OLED so of course the picture is going to be nice. What makes this so great is the natural feel of the pictures. Watch an American football game or a Soccer game live. The color is amazing! But the true test is the sharpness of the images. I love noir films. Watch a remastered Casablanca or Maltese Falcon. You see real blacks. Another way to test it is to check out Tony Soprano and I think it was the 4th episode. He's wearing a grey suit with a black shirt and a black tie. With this tv I can see the shades of the black and the grey pops out. Very cool.

I had my eye on the A8F since it was announced during Sony’s CES show. All of the perks of the Sony A1E OLED, all while saving a little bit of money. The 55” size is perfect for my setup, and boy am I impressed. The Xbox One X looks phenomenal with gaming and with video playback. The native smart features are incredibly clean and simple to use. As for picture quality, Netflix and similar apps look great with very little banding in colors, and even that could be chalked up to the content I’m watching on ESPN+. HDR content looks incredible as touted. The X1 processing chip makes a massive difference moving up from LG’s OLED lineup. Simply put: the Sony A8F is the best television you can buy for raw picture quality.

From previously owning a 27” Trinitron to the first generation 40” XBR1, Sony’s 55” OLED is incredible. The array of colors are stunning, The sharpness and clarity of objects are so life-like, you will actually see a lot of imperfections on peoples’ faces. The sound can be adjusted to suit your taste and with surround sound active with cinema pro settings , just grab popcorn and stay home to watch theater-quality movies. Having a PS4, PS3, and 4KUHD player connected , Sony “the one and only” is your total entertainment package.
