Let me start off by saying that this is my first OLED television. Due to it being a recent purchase, I won't be giving any reviews on this product. Let me start off by saying that I always loved Sony products, they are one of the few companies out there that could still positively surprise you from time to time (market being saturated and all). I came from a XBR55-X930E to this and although the brightness levels isn't on par with the X930E, the OLED purest blacks performance just blows it out of the water. While watching John Wick 2 on 4K Blu-ray on this unit, I was able to tell the difference right away between both sets. The colors and black level were immediately enhanced, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I'm hoping that with recent technological advancements in the OLED world, burn-in won't be much of an issue. Since it's a recent purchase I will continue to run some tests with games, movies and regular TV viewing to see how it performs. Here's hoping it won't disappoint!

The picture is great. Color, clarity, and contrast are all I could ask for. However the software has trouble going from tv viewing to Netflix or Hulu type programs and vice versa. The price is high for this kind of issue.

Beautiful color reproduction, vivid blacks, incredible resolution, and a built-in sound system good enough to negate the need for an add-on sound bar and subwoofer. I have had many Sony TVs and have always been extremely satisfied with the design, performance, and reliability. If this one continues to hold up like the others, I will be over the moon about this TV. Expensive but worth it.

I have always been a huge fan of LG Oled TV's - I thought they made the best TV's avaialble - but I have to be honest, I was blown away by the picture offered by this incredible Sony OLED TV. Simply amazing and better than the LG. The Android system built into the tv makes it a Fun tv to own - and brings all kinds of entertainment options into our home.
Consumer Reports gave this TV one of their Highest Rankings, The Best Buy staff in Magnolia also reccomended this TV. I am really glad I followed their advice.

We replaced our 5/6 year old Sony LCD 46XBR with this Sony OLED. Absolutely thrilled with the upgrade. The Sony we replaced had a Sony sound bar and we were unsure if the new TV w/o a sound bar would be adequate. The new Sony has the sound eminating frrom the screen and it works great. The color and definition is amazing. Im no expert but the Sony OLED is the way to go.

I already have an LG OLED TV so I’m familiar with the picture quality they provide. As LG makes the panels for Sony the picture is absolutely amazing. The TV was very easy to set up and I was able to get it looking better with the assistance of calibration recommendations from Rtings. One thing I’ve noticed is that when I’m not running the sound through a theater system, the Sony sounds much better than my LG ( B7A).

I am beyond ecstatic that I have an OLED. I managed to purchase this during the 79% off clearance.
My last TV was a Sony with the X1 Extreme chip and the A8F has the same chip. I love this chip over the X1 Ultimate which has less consumer friendly setting for personal preference.
The picture is superb for streaming, DVD, Blu-ray, 4K UHD, and gaming. I cannot speak for cable or over air as I do not utilize those. I find it to be bright enough for me. I found my last TV to be too. Right in it's HDR content. So for me, the OLED max 800 nits is a right fit for me.
Sony's acoustic sound really works and achieves enough sound to not need additional audio devices in an apartment or a bedroom. It is suitable enough for a small theater room if you don't want to spend the money for a Dolby Atmos audio setup. However, a Dolby Atmos setup is preferred for full immersion in a theater room.
Sony's processor for picture and sound is definitely 1st over all other TV manufactures and with OLED, it showcases this that much more!
While Sony can be expensive, if you can find their OLED products at the price you are comfortable you will be overjoyed.
As for OLED technology, it is true, once you see it in your home with your average use, you don't want to go back.

THE ANDROID PLATFORM MAKES THE TV MUCH EASIER TO USE AND IM SURE MOST PEOPLE WILL GO FOR THE LG TO SAVE THE MONEY BUT THE SONY TRULY DOES LOOK MUCH BETTER WHEN YOU GET IT HOME AND OUT OF THE STORE AND I HAVE YET TO FIND A SINGLE ISSUE. ALSO THE TV RUNS KODI PERFECTLY AS IS EXTREMELY EASY TO INSTALL WHICH ALLOWS FOR A GREAT ALL IN ONE TV.

This is my second Sony XBR and this one is as good as the first. The picture quality is fantastic and the built in sound is good. The setup was quick and painless. I would prefer manual setup features, such as adding channels that did not scan. This would be helpful when setting up an antenna. I thought the days of screen burn were over. The OLED requires a screen saver and blinks out over time in the setting mode. I wish I knew this before buying. SONY customer support can be a challenge but very helpful if you are persistent. The apps are very limited and there is no way to add more from the Google store. This is not like a smart phone. SONY still rocks!

This Magnolia based Bravo 55" oled, HDR Chromecast on board TV is spectacular in every sense of the word. Clarity, color fidelity, software, applications, the full screen spreaker (sound comes from the entire screen) The software is phenomenally intuitive and highly adjustable. All of my previous apps from the LG Qled that became defective after 12 months were carried over to the new remote control.
True 4K, HDR makes this set perfect. I could not ask for another feature as it has everything and requires no more that five minutes to be up and running on my home network. Android casting works perfect and there are many hidden gems like Pluto TV (cost free), YouTube etc.
Sit back and enjoy. Screw the thought of having to spend a day trying to figure out the operating system It works like magic.
You can use the voice commands to ask the tv to switch for cabel/antenna, STB just by using your voice. Amazing piece of ultra-tech design.

I had 3 Samsung plasma TVs that were 12 years old. I decided to get an OLED for one of them. That left two basic choices - LG and Sony. I selected the Sony 55a8f because of its ability to upscale SD (480) and HD (1080) to 4K. The screen part of the tv is basically 1/4 of an inch. I have had it a month and it works great. Only complaint is that I wish the Sony remote control keys were backlit. The extreme processor works great with Netflix and has chromcast built in

I had a storm take out my old TV and did not have a lot of time for research. I was very happy with my Sony Bravia KDL-42V4100 so I did some quick looking at the Bravia series. It was a toss up between the X900F or this one. I am pretty impressed with this TV so far and am glad to have upgraded to OLED. It is a bit pricey, but I plan on keeping it for a while. This is my first SMART TV and I am liking the Android TV. I set up Youtube, Twitch and a couple others easily and all function great. I am certain I will still use my Apple TV and will probably upgrade it to the 4K version soon. I have also hooked up my PS4 and gaming has been great so far. I am now thinking about upgrading the the PS4 Pro, but still deciding on that or the PS5 in a couple years. So far I would recommend this Tv if you have the extra cash laying around.

The Sony A8F is the best TV I have ever used not only due to the 10 bit panel colors and the Dolby Vision capability, but the sound is something you have to hear to believe. I have never heard such crystal clear audio come from a panel that is as thin as a piece of cardboard. The only flaws or things that I wish were better would be the lack of brightness, which is to be expected form an OLED panel and the fact that only 2 of the 4 HDMI's can do 4:4:4 Deep Color, but then again that is nitpicking. Seriously an amazing TV.

The picture quality is breathtaking. The colors are rich and deep. The acoustic screen is my favorite part of this tv and can't be beat. The sound is the best I've heard on a flat screen tv. No sound bar required. It was easy to assemble. Expensive, but far exceeds any of its competitors!

Our last four TVs have been Sonys, but this set is in a class by itself. Amazing clarity and vivid colors are outstanding, but what really sets it apart is how completely black the black is. Never have we seen dark images stand out in night scenes as with this set. It is amazing, the best picture we have ever experienced. No other TV even comes close.

Love this TV. It’s sleek and modern. The color is vibrant and the clarity is excellent. We considered the A9 but it was more expensive and I didn’t see that much difference in the picture. The A8 is a slightly darker screen but our viewing area is a darker space so it doesn’t affect us at all.

Great picture quality! This is my first oled tv and I am very happy with the display. It is crisp, clear, and the blacks or super dark. Also for a tv speaker it has a good amount of base and volume. After this tv i don’t think i can go back to something that isn’t oled.

This Sony 55" Class OLED A8F Series 2160p Smart 4K UHD TV with HDR was pricey but worth it. It is slim and wall mounted and installed professionally in the Master Bedroom upstairs. Almost need a bigger master bedroom to fit it in but never disappointed in a Sony.
