Not 55 it’s 50

Great Picture

The remote control though leaves much to be desired. it will only power the tv on or off. i use a Sony receiver for HDMI and no matter what I do, ai can’t get the remote to show it’s menu. worked originally but no longer. TV picture is stunning!!!

The Bluetooth function of this TV will work by pairing the Bluetooth keyboard and mouse to an Android TV device, this is low energy Bluetooth. There are different specifications of Bluetooth. This model doesn’t have the A2DP (stereo audio) standard. This would be found on the X900H and above.

At my old place there wasn't really room for a nice flat panel and the prices are only just now to where I think the bang is worth the buck. Normally I go with Samsung panels but then I saw this with the Android OS and it was on sale besides. I have a couple of App only or web site only subscriptions such as DC universe which can cast to a compatible TV but with this guy it doesn't have to cast because you can load the App into the tv and just access it that way...Wowsa! There are literally piles of TV apps (a lot of them free or free/pay options) in the google store for stuff like the History Channel, TNT, ABC news just lots of stuff... so much it takes a long time to look through what's there. Someone in another review mentioned issues with Hulu well maybe that was just fixed in this update, it works fine now. This beast weighs about 40 lbs you definetly need two to lift it out of the box (A screen this size is fragile and must be handled carefully) and maybe an extra person if you're going to hang it on a wall mount. I bought Best Buy's delivery/premium install (not realizing that the mount itself was extra..aaack well I had coupons so even paying for the mount an extra hundred dollars for a static tilt only mount it was still a decent deal for a 55" TV). The unit sounds really nice with the built in speakers but like all these you can connect a sound bar or fancy sound system via cables or bluetooth. You can link your google account to the tv so you can see your google goodies (calendar, gmail, etc.) and there is voice control but I haven't ventured into setting that up yet. I have wifi in the house both 2ghz and 5ghz it does not appear to be able to use the 5ghz network but does fine with the slower network. You will need to laboriously input your wep key no push button support here that I could find. This unit does have an RJ45 jack on it if you have wired network in your home. To my eyes it's a beautiful panel sometimes maybe a touch dark but that can be adjusted in the settings menu, I'm sure a super picky person might disagree. I bought a 700 dollar tv I am not expecting the quality of a 2k TV. I like that I can download spotify and pandora music apps..I leave the music on for the dog when I'm gone this way I don't have to run it on the computer now. Basically the Android OS has turned this tv into a giant tablet without touch capabilities. I've only had a few hours to play with it so far but the picture is very acceptable and the sound is great, I have a sound bar don't need it it is very powerful and sounds nice no scratchy sound at high volume and voices are clear which is where most tv sound falls apart, no center channel. Bluetooth capability should let you hookup a stereo bluetooth headset if you wanna watch tv and not wakeup the whole house. When we first plugged it in and entered the router wep code it took about twenty minutes to download a system update so just expect that you won't be able to use it for a little bit when you start it for the first time. The best buy guys were efficient and professional and gave a basic rundown on how to operate it. Very happy with my purchase, I did buy the warranty since you just never know and a hundred dollars is better than a lot more if the tv dies a premature death.

Antenna channel guide problem.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picture quality is great. We use OTA antenna for local programming and stream using Spectrum. Problem is the channel guide for local programming always says "no event information". Once you view a channel the guide loads for that channel only, no others. You need to view each channel a few seconds for the guide to download the info. We have 70 channels so that doesn't work. Worked with Sony support for 1.5 hours to no avail. They couldn't say what the problem was and suggested talking to Gracenote, software developer for the channel guide. I really like the set and wondering if I exchange it for another will it have the same problem. Sony couldn't say.

Problematic

It freezes up to the point that the only way to get it running is to do a hard reset. I've had to do this several times, and then go through the entire setup process over again. Not a good buy. Also the picture doesn't sync well with the audio.
