Before that, the TV would do very odd things - like rearrange and remove our favorite Apps from the TV home screen. I've owned a lot of TV's and this one was my least favorite of all. Sony used to be one of the best. So disappointing.

A word on the in store support - if you get good support you are lucky. I shop at this particular store regularly as it’s close to where I reside and I prefer to see the product (expensive purchases ) get to know more about them before I buy them. There was hardly anyone remotely interested in showing me the product and I had to ask couple of guys before I knew If it was in store or not. Finally they put me onto a guy ( I think he works in the magnolia department) who was peeved that I was buying a Sony instead of something he wanted to peddle. He actually Said “you are willing to pay more just for the brand name “ in an extremely condescending way. I had to find someone else to purchase the product. After that I wanted to buy a pair of powered speakers and found home there! I just walked out.

I did a lot of homework before I decided to purchase one and this came out on top for picture quality and brightness along with the darkest blacks in its class. If you get one, you won't regret it.

I do wish that you could turn it off and on with a button on the side as sometimes the remote gets misplaced. That is probably the way most newer TVs are designed though.

Did a little tweaking and it's now even better. Colors are spot on. Excellent viewing from all seats due to the IPS panel VA panels affect picture quality when not directly in front of it. But give you excellent Blacks.

Great tv with easy navigation

I saw plenty of positive reviews, and in the negatives I saw nothing repetitive that would preclude me from buying this TV. Great decision. I'm no TV visual expert, but I suspect most customers are not either. I see a great picture, a vast improvement over my previous TV. To me the key is do I see anything that would bother me such as distortion, imperfections, darkness, etc. I like to focus on the text on screen, and with this TV, I see perfectly acceptable images and text. In fact, the DISH TV guide never looked so sharp and bright and clear. I would buy this TV every day of the week. Sony is a great brand and I expect to be enjoying this TV for many years. Outstanding for the price, set expectations appropriately.

It's set up so that you have purchase separate hardware for mounting purposes. Should have been included or just put the holes for mounting. Other than that, happy with my Sony. Excellent picture, especially for 4K movies.

Replace older tv

They loved the one I bought last yr for my Living rm. So this one is pretty much a newer version of what I bought last yr. Picture quality is amazing. It’s just too much “ Smart” TV for my parents. They really don’t need all the bells and whistles that come along with it. But it’s really tough to find a 55” non Smart TV nowadays. Have an issue getting the older Insignia sound bar to work well with the TV..... meaning getting it so my parents won’t need multiple removes to controlling TV cable and Sound bar. Probably going to get them a Sony bar that connects easily via Bravia and controls all in one. So as of now we’re all happy with this TV. Highly recommended.

Excellent tv for the price with fast apps

Picture quality is good, the apps load super quickly, making switching between everything a breeze. It's great watching Youtube on the big TV, you can find a lot of old movies and shows for free. It's really revolutionized my big screen experience. The voice microphone is pretty good, allowing you to search faster. Cons are I wish instead of "Google Play" in the remote it was a youtube button. Google play is filled with stuff that you pay for, vs youtube where stuff is free, but with ads (that you can generally skip). Physical set up was not fun, you need a second person to help and the tv feels very delicate (but light weight)

The picture couldn't be better, colours are wonderful and the sound is great. My first Sony Bravia lasted for over 11 years. Hope this one give me a lot of mileage also.
