I purchased this product during its promotional pricing during Black Friday; I was was skeptical but was initially pleasantly surprised at the image quality. I do think that its HDR advertising is a bit misleading on this model. My major issue is that the TV died 3 months after purchase (first no image would display regardless of input, then vertical bands over a grey screen, and then finally the unit refused to turn and remained dead). Best Buy couldn't help as it was out of their return window (no geeksquad protection plan purchased), I had to call Sony's warranty department directly which involved more than an hour of waiting and talking to a call center. Supposedly they will honor the warranty and perform an exchange but the entire experience has made me reconsider Sony's reputation for quality electronics.

I’ve seen bad picture quality TVs in Samsung than this that cost about the same price or more. It’s a good tv for the price. However, in some scenes on movies, I notice a bit of brightness on the edges of the screen. (Left & right). All in all, It’s pretty good for the price. Oh, and the 4K is a little weird. Don’t know if it’s my cable provider, buys it looks terrible on 4K. If you want a great 4K tv. I suggest spending a pretty penny on one WITH WARRANTY.

My requirements were simple. I need a TV to fit into a required space. A 60" would work best and I chose SONY X690E. I'm very content with the picture and sound. The reason for my rating of four out of five stars is because: The original TV malfunctioned and was returned. I contacted Best Buy and reported a green a vertical line in the middle of the screen . I was informed, the problem was not fixable and the TV was exchanged for a new one w/o delay. Thank you Best Buy.

The sound is not as a good of quality as I expected for a SONY product. Probably will have to purchase a surround system:( Wasn't ready to do that just yet!

I bought this TV on-line on Thanksgiving for a great price. I was upgrading from a 40" 5 year old TV to this 65" TV. The picture is great. I am planning to cut my satellite TV service and wanted a new TV that had a better tuner. This TV can pick up around 100 channels and the majority stay perfectly tuned with an 50 mile antenna with signal booster. The built in Netflix streaming works well but to get more on-line streaming channels I also purchased a new Roku for 4K HD. I am now ready to cut my satellite service and still get beautiful HD pictures.

My family has owned Sony Bravia televisions for decades. Every time I have purchased anything else, I have regretted it. I have faith in the product because I know what it is. The colors are true to life and the speakers that come with the television sound fine, but I will be adding speakers for a more immersing effect. Also like that the netflix and youtube buttons are on the remote. The remote is the traditional streamlined remote control Sony has always used for its products. I am right at home with my Sony TV.

The last TV I purchased was a Sony Bravia about 8 years ago. I love it so much that I decided to get another because we needed another Tv in the house. I got one a few months back and loved it even more than when I got the previous one 8 years ago. I felt it was time to upgrade the houses main tv to an even bigger Bravia. So I came back in and the Sony I got it hands down the best ever! It’s great for everything from watching simple tv to HD blue ray movies to video games. 10/10 tv for sure!

Black Friday Nightmare

My wife and I got in line around 10:00 PM on Thanksgiving and sat in line untold about 1:15ish. We got in quickly, got the TV and got out. However, we got home, got the TV set up and mounted on the wall on Friday afternoon and turned it on and it worked fine. Then on Saturday morning, we turned the TV on and there was a vertical red line going through the entire display. After troubleshooting with Geek Squad (thank god my wife convinced me to get the plan), they determined that the TV could not be fixed and I had to bring it back to the store. Unmounted the TV and brought it back. They had no other ones in stock and could not order more but allowed me to swap it out for a “comparable” TV. From the sounds of it, they got multiple of these TVs returned back and after reading reviews online it sounds like it was a common issue with the Sony TVs. I will never buy a Sony TV again and definitely will NEVER sit in line for a Black Friday deal as long as I live!

Most of all I am very pleased with how well this TV displays blacks and dark movies. Many of the TV’s I looked at and have owned in the past the blacks looked more gray than black, where as this TV has a very great dark color and contrast. For me that is huge especially in this price point.
The WiFi is fast and reliable and very easy setup.
If you are even considering this TV you can’t go wrong.

I love this TV, great picture quality but it's not so easy to navigate or use the "smart" features... I've added a Firestick and am now happy. I wouldn't recommend this as a single unit solution, although I think I might have old firmware (which I can't update, either b/c I'm not a Sony firmware programmer, or I'm following the wrong instructions?)

This is a great 60" 4K tv for the price. Convenient smart tv with Netflix and Youtube apps already installed. The wireless connection makes setting up easy and clean without needing LAN cables.
The picture adjustment isn't as fine as the more expensive Sony 4K tv but still very crisp pictures.
Also this tv is not as thin as the other Sony 4K tv, but you can't beat the price.

Bought this TV to replace my 65" curved Samsung which is going in the basement. This TV is easy set up, doesn't have all the bells and whistles more expensive TVs have but not necessary. Picture is clear and sound is adequate. I hooked up a Bose solo TV to it to improve sound. At the price you can get the warranty and have piece of mind. I was weary of some of the poor reviews, but I can assure you, for the price it was a no brainer.

We have this TV in our living room and is used daily. I have nothing bad to say about this, except all the buttons on the TV and remote stopped working except the power button. We purchased the 5 year warranty and the geek squad came out, changed some parts and it fixed it. All for no additional charge. Besides that it has been a great TV for over a year.

The price is nice for what I paid for it but to work and understand all the features it takes time. To mirror things from your phone you have to do to much it's a hassle and sometimes make me dont wanna watch nothing but YouTube on it. But it's a good television overall if your into all the high tech products then it wont br a problem for you I just like to click and go.

Brightness level not high enough for any room with some sunlight coming in. Brightness controls beyond 70% do not have a noticeable impact on brightness. There are certain technology sites that publish brightness levels, NITs, this is pretty low. Refresh rate could/should be higher too. It's not a bad TV on sale, but both brightness and refresh rates should be higher for the MSRP.

I’ve been looking into 60 and above inch television that offer high definition in 4K that don’t cost $3000. My last TV was an LCD flatscreen Sony Bravia that I bought in 2005 and is still Kickin today but wanted to upgrade to a larger size television and I couldn’t believe I found this 60 inch Sony Bravia for a price under $1000. I could not be happier with the quality and functionality and would never buy any other brand television.

Great picture quality, not too heavy (39 pounds) which was great for us mounting it on the wall and it has a decent amount of tools to adjust your picture the way you prefer. We’ll be getting a sound bar/home theater setup in the future so I can’t comment on sound quality too much. It’s a bit on the quiet side, but you can get a little more volume out of it if you turn off the surround sound setting that is on by default.
