Great tv

Defect Product

I did not pay close attention until watching netflix at night about 60 days later. The lower edge has white light along the edge when the screen in dark mode. In bright mode, the color is fuzzy at those areas with white light. Sony tech said this is normal. But I do not see this behavior with any of the TV on display in the showroom at BestBuy. I cannot take this back to BestBuy because of more than 30 days. It is horrible customer service from Sony when I called them. They don't even attempt to send the tech out to look at the defect and attempt to fix it. I am stuck with this TV.

Worst tv

Great TV - still a believer!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.We've been purchasing Sony TV's for 20+ years and you can't beat the quality. We replaced our older Sony TV's due to changes in technology vs. them failing. We had one that was 18 years old that still worked great, but replaced it due to technology! I'm a true believer in Sony TV's and did considerable research prior to purchasing this TV, despite the comments related to the "light bleed" issues reported. The TV was delivered and immediately upon power up we noticed there was white light in the bottom corners, when there was a black background #the left side was much worse than the right#. I decided to continue the installation and would decide what we would do after everything was setup. After everything was setup and able to view with a full picture on the screen, the quality was amazing. Sony's upscale technology is the best in the industry, and all NON-4K media types #Dish, Netflix, DVD, etc...# we watched had a beautiful picture. The only issue was with a Letter box and other formats that had a black screen on the bottom, which you could see the white light in the corners. It was similar to having a flashlight in the corners and affected about 2 inches of the screen, with white light fading from the corners into the screen. I want to make one point, if the screen had a full picture, the white light in the corners was NOT visible unless it was a dark background. I talked with the Magnolia salesperson and explained the issue, and he talked with his Sony rep. We discussed the "light bleed" issue reported by other consumers, and I was very clear, if there is a problem with this model, I'll select another Sony model. He stated there were some issues with some serial numbers, but newer serial numbers did not have any issues. I was skeptical as other consumers stated the serial number answer was invalid, but decided to give it a shot! Magnolia picked up the original TV and delivered the new one, and it did NOT have any issues with white light in the corners. The bottom line, the picture quality is amazing with all formats and glad we decided to give it one more chance. The picture quality, style, near flush wall mount, easy setup, etc. makes this TV amazing in all aspects, and would recommend it over the competition! However, it's possible you may experience a similar situation and you may need to do a return, but if you're willing to give it a shot it's worth it!!

save your money

I chose Sony over Samsung because of previous issues with Samsung not being able to repair my set. Well a year and a couple of months later guess what? Problems......I called about a repair the gentleman told me it is very hard and next to impossible to get parts. So I call best buy they show up and tell me it MIGHT BE a board, but it's no way to tell if that will completely solve my problems. So 2k dollars later I'm in repair mode for a tv that WAS suppose to be one of the best on the market at the time. Unhappy camper here to say the least.

Issa good product

It still runs fine but sometimes it runs a little slow trying to change inputs. Also lose picture sometimes n have to hard reset the tv to get it working properly.

I was going to just exchange the TV as I like Sony products but when I returned it to the store another customer was returning the same TV for the same reason so I switched brands instead.

Broke in four years

Seriously gone wrong
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had read about the light bleeding issues with this TV before buying it, was hopeful that like the few of the lucky ones who did not have this problem I will get lucky too, unfortunately did not turn out to be the case. This TV has some serious light bleeding issue, looks gorgeous in design but picture quality is worse than my 3 year old Samsung. Stay as far away as possible from 900c ..
