Had a need for a 48" for kids XBOX & 65" for living room as I'm finally getting rid of last Tube TV. Took advice of Best Buy folks who told me Sony was better than Samsung. 48" has no problems but 65" died after 5 weeks. White led on bottom dimly comes on and fades out. So first Sony tells me they just need to replace a part and their "best" repair outfit will be out next week. Next week comes and nothing. I call and now it has to be replaced as they tell me part to fix it will be available never. I get an approval email after sending Sony pictures they requested of the TV, serial#, Best Buy receipt, etc...12 hours later it now needs to be re-approved as the next guy in the food chain can't read the receipt that the other guy had no problem with. So here I am going on 3 weeks and I'm still waiting for my TV. Oh and by the way, they tell me this issue caused by this particular part goes across all of their models...Thanks Sony!

Can't surf the web. 2 different types of t.v. guide pop-up. Just very difficult to operate.

Went into Best Buy last week to pick up a 65 inch Samsung 8500 for the Super Bowl. They were out of that model east of the Missisippi it seems. The manager offered me this Sony 900c at same price as Samsung and I jumped on it. Had read about light bleed and I told him up front that, if on delivery it had issues, I would send it right back. So glad I jumped on this deal. The TV is phenomenal. The Geek Squad guys set up the TV (they popped the legs into the middle positions so it would fit on my 48 inch table--thanks Youtube) and since I had a wired Wifi connection, we immediately dived into 4k videos on YouTube. Wow. Well, needed a letterboxed show to check for light bleed so we hooked up the PS3 and popped in LOTR and luckily only a tiny bit of light shows in bottom left of panel in corner. My last 55 inch Samsung was worse. Guess it is the nature of the beast (LED). When I say tiny bit, I mean a VERY dim bit of light about 1/2 the size of my thumb so unless you're a perfectionist, you won't notice while watching. I have seen the photos from some people who owned this set, and mine was nothing like theirs. After thanking the Geek squad and showing them the door, I began playing with the set. I popped in Avatar 3D and put on my passive 3D glasses (sold separately). Very impressive 3D. My old Samsung (2011 model) with 3d was active glasses and a total pain since the batteries were always running out. The kids were very impressed. Guess I need to order more glasses since they said they wanna invite all their friends over. Setting up Netflix, Amazon Prime and HBO Go took barely any time and I had 4k streaming from Netflix and Amazon Prime no problem. (I have 25 MBit download speed). I set my picture to Standard and everyone agreed that looked the best. I have monkeyed with Custom but Standard, to my eyes, still look the best. The unit comes with 2 remotes, 1 standard for old fogeys like me, and a newer remote with a mousepad type surface. It takes some getting used to but works great with practice. There is also a way to sync to your cable or satellite box so you can use remote to access a guide and jump to a channel. Very nice. I did download the Sony 900C firmware update from December onto a USB drive beforehand. Just pop it it and takes about 30 min. Impressed with this TV. Worth a look if you can get a decent price. Has Triluminos Display (better color) and HDR for when 4k Blu ray arrives. Hard to go wrong
