Best TV all around
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.As a person that looks at TVs all day for DirecTV I can honestly say by far this TV is the best product out there destroying Samsung and Panasonic and sharp as the best all-around TV which I've tried the Samsung JS 9000 and 8500 series TVs and the Panasonic pro line cx850u tv as well as the sharp Aquos lc70uh30 this TV hands-down is by far the best for smoothness of picture picture quality and refresh rate zero jittery on this TV does have some flashlight on the side though

Just awesome

Have not experienced any light bleeding issues as some of the negative reviews mention. Wall mount installation was painless. Synched well with other devices with no issues or lag. Very pleased.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.2/28/27 purchased the xbr65x900c. returned 2/29/2016. horrible light bleed issues. salesman said only the 55 inch version was recalled, but the 65s were not. he said if i had an issue, we could get the 850c tomorrow. went back on sunday morning at 12.30p, and guess what, that 850c was no longer on sale. i honestly think BB did this to me to generate revenue. manager said "you took a gamble. sorry." I said "you knowingly sell a defective product." Then he tried to tell me that he has to take a hit on the return as an open box and didn't want to take a double hit by honoring the sale price from the previous day. Not my problem. Poor customer service. Shoddy product. Lost a customer.

I went in and saw the 900C, and it looked great. Then, went home and started reading reviews of the model both here and at other sites. I went in forewarned of the light leak/bleed issues, but was assured that the newer models no longer had that problem. So, I bought the set and brought it home. After set up and turning it on, the picture was awesome! Absolutely no sign of light leak/bleed anywhere. Then, 3 1/2 minutes later, narrow vertical lines formed near the left border of the screen....followed a minute later by several (>10) horizontal lines at the top of the screen. I called the sales rep, and he said to bring it back and he'd give us a new one. Packed up the defective unit, took it back, got the new set and got it home and installed. Turned it on, and immediately it was apparent that there was a HUGE light leak/bleed problem. Unacceptable. Frustrated beyond belief, I called the store and asked to speak to the store manager. He heard me out and commiserated with my situation. I asked him his advice on what I should do next. I was astonished when he offered to take back the second defective unit of this model, and then offered me a different model (at no extra cost to me) that was made this year (2016) and cost more than the 900C. And that is how this 1 star review of the model 900C becomes a 5 star review of BestBuy and their customer service. Not only was the manager kind and courteous, but every employee I contacted from the front door to customer service was also respectful and courteous. This was way above and beyond what I find at most stores, and much appreciated. The new set is AMAZING (850D) and I would highly recommend it to anyone. Stay away from the 900C...the issues have not been resolved. And, one more reason to buy from a brick and mortar store than online. I cannot begin to imagine my anger and frustration if I had this happen and had to ship/receive 3 televisions over who knows how long time frame?

Exceeds expectations

The TV is great,no light bleed from edge of screen as mentioned in some of the reviews. The picture looked just like the one on the Best Buy showroom floor. Very clear picture. good sound. I did have the geek squad set it up and they did a very good job and answered all my questions

I read the reviews about the light bleed issue so I went into the store to take a look. The model on display at Best Buy did have some small light bleed from the left corner of the TV but it was something I could live with so I went ahead with the purchase considering that the TV had all the features I was looking for. The fact that it was so thin was just a bonus. My unit has a manufacturing date of May 16th. During the day, I noticed no light bleed at all, even in dark scenes. At night, with all the lights off, and watching a movie with black bars, I do notice the tiniest bit of light bleed from the center bottom but it doesn’t interfere with the picture at all. Seems they fixed most of the issue, but I suspect it’s difficult to get rid of it all together given that the TV is so thin and with just the tiniest of bezel. On top off all the great features, it even comes with the wall mount in addition to the stand. I am very happy with my purchase.

Wishing Best Buy had the one I wanted
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.So I went to best buy for the pre black Friday sales on flat screens, spent 2.5 hours talking to a rep in the store, decided on a Samsung 65'" $1799.99 only to be told that they didn't have that TV in stock ,couldn't get one. Let rep talk me into this 900c, $2499.99.only to get it set up to have the light bleed through, this is unacceptable, I cannot believe Sony would knowingly sell a TV with this picture ruining, light spots. Sure glad I didn't pay the original $3999.99 for it. Shouldn't have paid $999.99 for it. I'm a big fan of Sony have had many Sony products. This may be the last

Absolute piece of s__t !

The sales guy assured me that the problem had been fixed, total bulls__t just to sell a TV. These TV's are absolute C__P ! They look fantastic until you turn them on. Save yourself the heartache and a few bucks, buy something else !

Dont buy love the features but bad light bleeding

I was told that the new TV sets had that issue resolved. I waited another week for a replacement TV in the same issue was on that one. Do not recommend this TV to anybody it is a waste of time to try and get it fixed.

Great TV - see for yourself instead of reading...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I saw all the reviews of corner lighting issues, and sure enough when I got home and fired it up, I saw them plain as day... With that in mind though, 90% of movies are the letter box format and there is no movie there playing anyway. Was it an annoyance? At first, but after 5 minutes I didn't even notice them anymore. When using a PS4 or anything full screen, you don't see them.

The tv was great but the bleeding is very bad. After I saw the bleeding, i took a look online and saw all the bad reviews. I have purchased sony products for the last 15 years but I am going to be calling sony to see what they can do about this if not i will be purchasing a samsung tv.

Light bleed still major
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I read the reviews on light bleed, but after talking to the sales rep bought the tv anyway thinking the issues had been resolved. The light bleed was worse than any of the pictures I saw online. I bought the tv on 1/1/16, so if the manufacturing issues from the "summer" had been fixed, I shouldn't have had the issue. I loved everything else about the tv, but returned two days after I bought it.

Terrible Light Bleeding Issues

I've been waiting and saving my Reward Zone Points so I could get the 4K tv that I wanted. I thought I did when I purchase this. Before I purchase this, I wanted to make sure it was a good tv to buy. Some of the reviews was good and some were bad. At the time the tv was out maybe a couple weeks so it was hard to decide whether this was a good tv or not. I will say the bad reviews I read dealt with light bleeding issues. I decided to get this tv after Best Buy was having a deal where they were adding a free media player with the purchase of this tv. Before I give my take on the tv let me say that I really wanted this tv because it was 4k and I can pair it up with the PS4 I have. Let just say the light bleeding issues I read in some of the earlier reviews was real. To be honest, it is very difficult to even watch this tv with this issue. I went to Best Buy and told them the issue I'm having with the tv and they say I probably need to adjust the settings on the tv because they were still set on the factory presettings. After adjusting my settings on my tv, I still saw light bleeding on the tv. Not as bad, but it was still there. Lets just say I'm very disappointed in this tv and kind of regretting on purchasing this tv to begin with

Terrible LightBleed, Total Gamble
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.We read the reviews before purchasing this TV, despite some complaining about the light bleed, there were other reviews that loved the TV. We bought one, when things were in all color the TV is amazing, ....but when things are dark there was major light bleed in all 4 corners. We exchanged for another and prayed. However, same problem, only in 2 corners but more severe than the first. It never went pure black, in letterbox, it was shades of grey. Additionally it would continue to color self adjust despite repeatedly turning that feature OFF. We're headed back to return this TV but this time we're going back to Samsung. We're done. Two chances, we're out. Moving on. If you are lucky enough to score one that doesn't have these issues then I'm sure you'll love it, but it's a gamble.

Light Bleed is an issue
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this TV 10 days ago and after immediately seeing the light bleed in the corners during a dark scene and on the letterbox. It isn't as noticeable when the picture is light already. I called Sony's support line when I got home after work and spoke to "Max" in the Philippines, and was told that the light bleed was "not a flaw according to Sony" and there was "nothing that they could do". He then assured me that future TV's will not have this issue, and I asked what good that does me after spending $2000 on this one? He didn't have an answer. When I asked if 100% of the 900C's had this happen, he said "no", I then told him it's a flaw and not as designed. If it was, then ALL of them would work that way. I got so frustrated with the support I just hung up. This was probably after hours support as it was 7:30 pm at night, but still, it was a horrible experience. On the plus side, the picture is good, although I don't think the upscaling is nearly as good as they claim when watching regular HD channels through cable. The 3D is passive so the glasses are far cheaper to purchase and I found it strange they didn't include any in the box. For the money, I would have expected the TV quality and customer support quality to be better. I've never had either issue with a Samsung or Panasonic so that's what I'll be going back to. This was the first Sony TV I've ever purchased, and I will never buy another Sony again.

Light Leak Victim - UnBox In Store!

I even worked for Sony when I was a 18 in there screen factory in California! I have always purchased sony products because of their quality and personally know how much the care about quality. But this time they have extremely dropped the ball on quality on one of their highest tv models. This is clearly a known issue with many reviews complaining about the light leak. I didn't read the reviews before purchasing because I was caught up in the in store experience at Best Buy. I was excited to get it home and turn it on, then noticed the light leaks instantly at the bottom in all of the dark screen scenes. It was horrible seeing this on a brand new TV. Other then the horrible light leaks the picture is awesome on light screens! Unfortunately I will be returning the TV to best buy. This sucks because I have a sony sound system, sony playstation, sony tablet and now I will be switching to Samsung! If you plan on still purchasing this tv make sure you unbox the tv in the store! I have attached a picture of my light leak in this review!

Awesome TV

The geek squad installed this 65" Sony yesterday and it is amazing. No issues at all, no light bleed or anything else. What a great TV and a great price.

Very Disappointed

A bigger reason for my poor rating is the lack of support from Sony. I read the reviews, but was assured the light bleed issue was addressed. I have to believe it can be fixed, because I saw a perfect TV in the Best Buy store and certain scenes do not show light bleed. However, after contacting Sony and escalating my concerns, I was told by "technical support" this was just normal operation of the TV. If this is normal for this model TV, Sony should recall the TV or give register owners a partial refund. Since Sony will not back its product, this will be my last purchase of their brand.

The LED sheeting isn't completely glued to the front glass piece. Therefor light appears like a flashlight shooting up the screen. Don't buy any large screen TV without the Geek Squad protection plan. I had this TV 7 days and had to take it back. I love the Samsung 4K.

Could be better

Went into Best Buy to purchase a different model, but because of sale price decided to go with this model. The television does have a great picture and loaded with features however, as stated in other reviews, it does have ALOT of light bleed across the bottom of the screen especially in the corners. Still decided if I want to return it or not. If it weren't for the reboxing and hauling I would probably have already returned the unit, but I have a few days to decide for sure.
