Bad Buy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We had the geek squad deliver and set up the tv. 2 hours after they left there was a look snap sound and the screen went black. We called technical support and Best Buy were we bought the tv and was told the tv was fried. We had Best Buy come and pick the tv up the next day. Best Buy couldn't replace it because they didn't have any more in stock and it was end of year model and they couldn't find a replacement.

Simply Stunning!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this TV after seeing it announced at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) earlier in the year and it completely lives up to expectations. The image quality is out of this world when using 4K content such as that available on Netflix and I have the new Sony Media Player on order for more 4K content. Other content is up scaled and while it doesn't look as good as native 4K content the image quality is much better than 1080P televisions and with this set you're future proofed for sometime. I mounted the TV myself, with the help of a neighbor, using the Sanus VXF532-B1 and it looks awesome! It took sometime to mount as the studs were not spaced according to the 16" or 24" standard. The VXF532-B1 therefore needed to be drilled with a couple of extra holes to fix the mounting plate to the wall. The VXF532-B1 is an awesome mount for this TV and I'd recommend both the mount and the TV to anyone. I'm also using the AudioQuest 4K rated HDMI cables from Magnolia.

Great 4K TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have never reviewed a product on here. I felt the need to do so though. I have owned the product for two weeks now and have been amazed with it. I replaced my 55 inch Samsung LCD 120 htz. Yes, I know it is not a cheap tv. I never thought I would pay that much for a tv in my life. I justified it because they threw in the 4k media player and the wireless sub. If you think about it that is $1,000 right there. You will not have buyer's regret with this tv. The colors on this tv will have you thinking it is a plasma display. I am constantly in awe when turning this unit on. Currently I am running the 4k media player, a 4k upscale dvd player, a xbox one, and a ps4 on the tv. All look awesome. When friends or family have come over and looked at the tv they all say "that is the best picture I have even seen on a tv set". The biggest and most pleasant surprise for me has been the 3d on the tv. I thought 3d was a gimmick at home. Boy was I wrong!!! It has made the home experience even better. I looked at reviews online and they have talked about some crosstalk with the tv. I have yet to experience this on the set. I have watched Guardians of the Galaxy, Jurassic Park, Predator, Transformers, and Ninja Turtles in 3D. Now I only want to watch movies in 3D. My only complaint is that they only included 2 pairs of glasses. At the price of the tv I think 4 pairs should have been included. I am surprised after this experience Best Buy and other stores don't showcase 3D more. I know my opinion has changed. As for sound on the unit I have a bose cinemate system, but I'm not even going to hook it up with the television because I am very happy with the sound coming from the unit and the wireless sub. I like the clean look. I'm sure a 7.1 system would make it the ultimate experience. If you were thinking about it, quit it and just go buy this tv. I'm still learning things with the tv everyday, so I will do a update to this review after I have had it for a few months.

Spectacular TV!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV is spectacular! I went into Best Buy fully intending to purchase the best 65" 1080p that $2500 could buy. I should never have looked at the 4k screens. Never should have. I was hooked. I wanted THAT picture quality. So $5000 later (after buying a 5.1 sound system and Sony Bluray player, etc.) I couldn't be happier. I have never seen such a beautiful picture before. Bluray upscaled on this is spectacular. HD streaming from any source, Netflix, Amazon, Youtube, etc. is highly detailed and spectacular. The colors are gorgeous. The blacks are black. Superb! I have had no problems whatsoever with connectivity with my network. Some people do not like the speakers and prefer a speaker-less look. I like them and I've received positive comments about them. The speakers themselves are spectacular. Makes me almost wish I didn't have 5.1. As far as their looks, I don't know what the complaints are about. In my opinion, they give the TV an "artsy" feel to it. You don't notice them after awhile. As a matter of fact, most of my friends that come over to check this TV out never even mention them and the one friend who did mentioned them only after we started talking about the sound quality. After your TV has been in your home for a few days or less, you do not notice them at all if you have even noticed them before. Some people like a clean look, I get that. I think the speakers on this TV (if you notice them) makes a stately appearance. My only beef with this TV is the camera. When Skyping, because it is on the side of the TV, to your Skype recipients, you are looking at an angle instead of straight ahead at them. You could look directly into the camera from an angle so they would see your face straight-on, but then you wouldn't see them very well except out of the corner of your eye. I'm extremely pleased with this purchase.

Beyond Amazing!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off I am kind of a picture snob and I had a difficult time finding the right TV. The picture is beyond amazing as well as the features. It has great sound, but I already have a surround system in place so the speakers are useless to me. That is how good this TV is. I was okay with paying extra for the speakers on the side, just to have this look. The speakers do look cool and makes the TV seem larger than it is, but it is huge. I also mounted mine on the wall which isn't a problem so don't worry about that. I also have seen 3D in the movies and the stores. At the movies it's pretty good, in the stores it stinks. At home, with this TV, and seating 7-10 ft away (that just happens to be my viewing preference), the 3D was mind blowing. Watch Avatar on it!! I have since repurchased 6 of my blu ray movies to 3D blu ray because it really adds to the experience. On Avatar, some pop outs come out a few feet from the screen. I can't say enough good things about this TV. I am glad I waited and got what I really wanted. It will pay off. Now my setup is better than going to the movies.

Awesome picture, plays well with other components
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was originally going to purchase the Samsung 65" tv until I viewed it and the Sony side by side for comparison. The Sony blew the Samsung away. I purchased the wireless subwoofer as well, as the built in speakers don't crank the bass the way I would like, but that is pretty obvious based on the built in speaker size. The built in speakers are fine for a small living room or bedroom, which is what I purchased the tv for. A sound bar or external speakers would be needed for a large room set up. I thought the 3D would be more of a gimmic, but I popped Thor in 3d in the dvd player and I was absolutely blown away.

Best TV You'll Probably Own
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I upgraded from a Panasonic 50" Plasma that I bought 5 years ago that was top of the line at the time, and this tv blows that out of the water. 4k programming looks incredible on this tv. BluRays look incredible too. I'm going to have to go back to watch all my old BluRays again cause the detail is improved that much. I popped in the movie Alien on BluRay and was blown away with the picture quality. It felt like I was right there. Also in case there's any worries about gaming on this 4k tv, don't worry about lag of motion blur. I hooked up my PS4 to it and it works flawlessly. No lag that I can tell, and no motion blur or ghosting. Just a perfect, vibrant picture that will make you go WOW. Before buying this tv I did a ton of research and went to Best Buy with a few BluRay movies in hand to test it out on different sets. I was planning on buying a Samsung PNF8500 because it got such great reviews, but after comparing my Star Trek BluRay on the Samsung to the Sony set, I was way more impressed with the Sony. Alot of people or reviewers say they can't tell a difference but I could. Plus you get a 4k tv that will last you for years to come, so it was a no brainer to go ahead and get the Sony. I'm glad I did. If you're in the market for a new tv and have the money, I would highly recommend this set. Or just go to Best Buy and test it out for yourself. Seeing is believing.

Sony 65 4k tv
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just purchased the Sony xbr 65x900b 4k TV. Awesome TV. I have been a faithful plasma TV owner for years. I have the Panasonic 65 ZT plasma TV. Unfortunately, manufacturers are not making plasma TV's anymore. The Sony 4k picture is as good as the plasma if not better. I like the speakers in the front of the TV. Sound is very good. Got a free sub woofer and media player with the purchase of the TV. Price was expensive, but the Sony TV was on sale.

Best Picture Quality, Great sound & Fantastic 3D
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased XBR65900b couple of days back. I have literally spent hours researching, what TV to upgrade. I had the Panasonic 42" Plasma for about 7 years now. Since, I was satisfied with plasma I never had the need to upgrade. Just last month, I thought maybe I should upgrade my TV and probably look for another plasma maybe in the 60" range. Bummer, Panasonic discontinued plasma line completely. So I went in the local BestBuy, looked at some LED. I liked the Samsung 7150 55". Looked great & I bought it and went home thinking it will be same or better than my plasma. Wrong !!! It was the worse ever & I couldn't stand the over contrasted panel with color wash & low PQ. I returned the TV next day. Then I saw Sony 4K XBR55850b. I liked the PQ and decided to buy it. Hooked up the TV and WOW !!! What a difference the 4K up scaling is excellent & excellent rich colors. I was super satisfied. Then, I realized the 850b had no local dimming & the display was kind of dark. In dark scenes, it would black the objects completely, so there was not much black details. It was not a complete disappointment. Overall, It was a excellent upgrade but wanted to see if there was something better. Back to local BestBuy Then I saw XBR900b and the details & black level was much much better due to the X dynamic Range #Local dimming#. The only drawback were the speakers. To me, I don't care much since the sound was really great. For some, the speakers might let you down. Don't let the speakers change your mind about not buying So I decided to get it & returned the XBR55850b & WOW the PQ quality was excellent & even looked better than my Panasonic plasma I had. So far, I am very very happy with the purchase. It's expensive but it's worth every penny. So far, I am really happy with the purchase. Overall, It's an excellent TV, great sound & excellent PQ

Best 4K Ever
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had a Samsung 4k tv before it was the un65hu9000. Bought it since most of my friends had a Samsung tv in their house, so i went ahead and bought the curved 4k tv considering it was a Samsung product and it was a curved which was supposed to enhance and provide a cinematic view no matter where you sat. I found the curve to be a an inconvenience and not really worth it, of the bat i noticed how washed out the colors were and i returned it the next week. Then i look at the sony xbr65x900b which is the compatible model to the samsung right away i saw a huge difference in both picture quality, upscaling, black levels, and colors were more natural. As a gamer i found the image on the sony better than the samsung. If you are an avid gamer or want the best picture quality dont spent your money on the samsung tvs, sony seems to be winning the best picture war in my opinion.

Best 4k for the money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was originally going tours the Samsung curved. But after CNET review I pull the plug on Sony xbr. And it doesn't disappoint, upscale blu ray look fantastic depending on the source material. Since all blu ray are different and shot in different camera. I pop in Pacific Rim. And boy oh boy it's look amazing, better then regular 1080p display. If people think there no different in upscale 4k? Think again. Try Netflix 4k for house of cards season 2, and picture quality doesn't disappoint with good connections. 4k upscale for gaming also look nice, but I prefer the none game mode. Since general setting looks more realistic I left it at that with some tweaking. I don't care much for input lagg. So that doesn't bother me. Dan at bb Oakdale took care of me. I just got to say thanks.

Fantastic 4K From Sony
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After my Panasonic VT plasma didn't survive the move, I looked to replace it with, and move up to, a 4K television. Having owned one of the best plasmas ever, I was most concerned with picture quality, contrast, black levels, etc. This Sony television doesn't disappoint at all, with very good picture quality, detail, black levels and contrast; significantly better picture than the Samsungs. My suggestion would be to follow some of the recommended settings on the internet until you can get it calibrated (e.g. turning off most of the noise reduction and motion features, reducing the backlight, etc). The aesthetics are absolutely gorgeous as it stands out from the typical thin and grey 4K televisions. Very unqiue design with the wedge design and chrome accents.

Incredible 4K TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have owned this TV for a month now and I can tell you this TV is amazing. The picture and sound is incredible. Guardians of the Galaxy is unreal, its like you are on the set as they're filming or on the field as your favorite sports teams are playing. Awesome sound FX, even has a football mode... brings the crowd right into your living room. The 3D is great; brings everything to life. Only comes with 2 pairs of glasses so you will need to purchase more. No need to get this babies picture calibrated; its perfect right out of the box. Tons of apps, Netflix, amazon prime, hulu etc... most are useless but there are a few gems. The only con/drawback I have with this TV is its weight... OMG its heavy. You are not moving this thing by yourself and you will need a beefed up wall mount for this baby, but once its mounted... WOW. Since it is 4K which is new tech, I purchased the extended warranty. You should to. You can get this TV @ BestBuy or any of the online super stores right now for the same price I paid on black Friday. So if your in the market for a 4K TV you wont go wrong with this set.................. Why are you still here get your butts out there and buy this TV and see what you've been missing
