Stunning from the moment I set eyes on her

The strong stance with large speakers, and glossy black finish had me impressed. I wanted it immediately. The picture is so clear, and the black levels are astounding for an LED LCD TV - looks closer to plasma blacks. The colors are vibrant, and even watching HD channels looks great. The sound is an added bonus. Small LED TVs have such weak speakers it can be hard to hear voices in TV shows, but not with this TV.

TV was a dead within 2 months
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased my XBR65x900B on 10/4/14 and it was a $3800 brick by 11/30 following a Sony software update. I had done a number of software updates during this time all of which went smoothly. This time around, the update rebooted the TV after which the LED at the bottom of the TV started to blink red 8 times. A quick Google search found other people running into a similar situation. For me, the Sony documented power reset and factory reset processes didn't work. The TV constantly boot loops and is unresponsive to remote and back panel commands. After a number of boots, the TV returns to the black screen with the blinking red lights. I spent an hour on hold with Sony's TV support and never got someone to help me. Thankfully I purchased the Geek Squad extended warranty. The GS rep that I spoke with said it sounded like it would require a mother board replacement. He had me try to manually execute the software update using a USB thumb drive, however, the TV failed to recognize the drive. When it worked, the picture and sound quality was great and it interfaced nicely with my U-verse box and Xbox One. The fact that it lasted less than 2 months makes me question my purchase. Buyers beware.

Bad Product Support
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I own a Sony KDL-40vl160 TV, One month ago The TV got the " Sony Vertical Lines of death " . In trying to correct the problem I went online and saw this was a major problem for Sony TV's. I tried the two reset options to correct the problem and both failed. In researching this problem I discovered when you Google the " Sony vertical Black lines of death " that this was a major problem with Sony TV's and that in some cases Sony replaced the TV's at no cost to the customer even with the TV's being out of warranty. Sony has numerous complaints about this issue. I contacted Sony Support both with emails and telephone calls with no satisfaction. I explained to them that this was faulty components in the TV and that they had replaced TV's with this same problem that were out of warranty. Their only offer to me for this faulty television was repair at my cost, 15% off a new television or buy a refurbished Sony for $329.00. I asked to speak to a supervisor but was told I was at the last stop, which was Sony Technical Support. I followed up with letters to the Head of Sony USA.. An executive from Sony USA told me that was all they could do and were sorry to lose me as a customer. I strongly recommend that you do not purchase a Sony TV.
