In placing the order, the rep failed to include the sound system ordered ... unfortunate in a way, but fortunate too. I had wondered whether or not the sound bar would be important in my home. Turns out it is. The sound from the TV was OK, but not incredible. So let's get to the picture itself. Let me tell you that if you've never seen this sort of thing in your home you are completely unprepared. It doesn't look at all like it does in the show room. The clarity is absurd. We watched two "regular" shows - Devil Wears Prada, and Dirty Dancing. It was like you were in the film. My wife said it felt more like theater. We've obviously seen both films countless times and yet we still found things missed previously. Our 65" is set on the lengthwise wall of a 20x15 living room with pretty good natural light. No issues. Here's something the Geek squad guy pointed out during set up. It is possible you can get a failure message, something about throughput. If you bring this to your provider (Time Warner Cable in my case) they will push back on you to acquire better cords. Not the case, not nearly; turns out that TWC is a little behind getting the best connective tissue in our neighborhood. We've only had it a few days and I've notice once or twice the slightest blur. We haven't had TWC to update wiring yet and I'd guess they will resolve the issue. Incredible experience. I can't say it enough. My son-in-law has a 4K TV (from last year) and I tell you what, this is like a different league. Wow. One negative - the TV controller does not provide even close to enough space for my fat fingers, but then again, mostly I use the TWC controller so no big deal.

I just bought this TV tonight and got it home and was so easy to set up. I am very happy with the picture and sound on it as well. Looked online and in stores for the perfect TV and for the black Friday price I couldn't say no . was going to wait until super bowl weekend to buy a new TV but I said let's get it now. Thank you Valparaiso best buy team for all your help in answering all the questions we had about all the TV's.

The Sony 4K colors are so vibrant it's amazing! Never seen quality picture like this before.

I bought this TV back in 2016 and it is the best smart TV I’ve owned. I get many compliments on the picture quality, its so sharp and crisp, even years later, its a better quality picture than some of the newer TVs out there. Well-made! Bravo Sony.

Amazing TV which can used as a PC monitor. It does full 4:4:4 chroma at 4K and also 1080p@120hz (though there is th famous occasional flashing of tiny white lines but even my perfectionist eyes weren't bothered by them). This TV uses edge lit backlighting which is the one thing which would make the identically priced Samsung TV arguably better but this TV beats it in every single other category. Even though all IPS screens have backlight bleed I found it not too extreme or disturbing on my particular panel. You only see it if displaying a solid black screen or a movie with letterboxing but even then it isn't unbearable (and I am particular about these things). Android TV is definitely one thing which makes this TV stand out. Don't like the launcher app? Download a new one. Is an app not available because it is blocked or not fully compatible? Doesn't matter, download it to your phone and sideload it! You might need a mouse to use the app but there are 3 USB ports so that's easy. I have the TV running the Dropbox app as well so it's even easier to share apps with it from my phone. The casting of images and video from my phone is blazingly fast compared to my parents Curved 4K Samsung which borders on barely usable with their own software. The number of things you could use this TV for are virtually limitless and if you do anything like streaming from a Plex server or want to use it as a PC monitor it is pretty much the only way to go.

I'm a commercial photographer and image quality is a must for me. I'm also have hearing loss and the rest of my family does not. This Sony 4K HDR Tv hit the spot for us as I can listen with my headphones while the rest of the family simultaneously listens at a reduced volume through the TV speakers! THAT'S GREAT!!! The folks at Best Buy were very helpful in finding the right TV for me!

After doing much research, I went into Best Buy to look at TVs. I made several trips so that I could talk with as many different sales associates as possible before making my decision. All of them steered me towards a Sony and I am very happy. I was between Sony and Vizio, but my perception of Vizio being a lower end tv pushed me over the edge. Best Buy's associates were all extremely helpful and answered all of my questions. My only complaint is that when I watch a movie with black bars on the top and bottom, the bars are a bit grey for my taste, but not a deal breaker by any means. I probably only notice it because I am looking for it. I couldn't justify spending the extra money to get local dimming like the 930d. The blacks however are great when not looking at the bars. I am very happy with my purchase.

Love this TV! The clarity and colors are amazing! I came in prepared to purchase another TV, but after looking at the reviews and speaking with several sales reps, I changed my mind and so glad I did. The native speakers are OK, but when paired with the bose soundbar and 4k material, the entertainment experience is great. Highly recommend!

I upgraded my 48" LED BRAVIA to 65" 4K Ultra HD and first thing I said to myself, WOW. Picture quality is excellent and apps load faster. It has built in chromecast which is really helpful at times. I will recommend this to anyone who is interested in buying 4K Ultra HD. Sony still rocks...

Unfortunately I didn't get this one first... i bought an LG as they had been great for me previously. After playing with the picture constantly for 14 days i couldnt get a good picture. I got the Sony and didnt mess with the settings once!! It looks great outta the box!

I had a Panasonic Plasma 60GT50 that had to be replaced due to screen burn. I got a credit towards a new TV bc of my warranty and tried this Sony 850D. Overall, the picture quality is pretty good, but in a dark room the black level is pretty terrible. I realized after buying this TV that I watched a lot of shows with "dark scenes". Watching Game of Thrones, Gotham, the Arrow etc in a dark room with this TV just was not doing it for me. Where there was supposed to be dark detail in the picture the screen just glowed. It basically looks like a computer monitor that is turned on, but with no picture on the screen - you can tell it's on bc the monitor is glowing... Well this is what all the dark scenes looked like while I was watching my shows. It lost all the detail and kept making me think there was a glare on my TV even though I was sitting in a dark room. Once I noticed it I was not able to not see it and it bothered me. Also, the sound quality is pretty poor. I had to watch everything through surround sound. After trying an LG OLED and being dis-satisfied with the judder and motion blur created by LG's processor, I ended up with the Sony 930D and am much happier. The two Sony's look close in the store, but when you get the 930D home it's a much better TV and well worth the upgrade in price over the 850D in my opinion.

When we went to Best Buy we were going to get the Samsang TV, but was introduce to the Sony one. We are very happy with it, we like that the controller has a bottom to go directly to Netflex and apps. The picture are clear.

While others talk about picture quality, I want to get into a feature that is overlooked or disliked. I really love the Android TV feature of this tv model. It allows for me to install Android Apps such as Popcorn Time, Mobdro, Showbox, and Kodi directly into the TV without needing to have an Amazon Firestick or casting the image from an Android Tablet. I literally have those apps installed directly into the TV and they work amazingly. Anyone wanting to know how to do it, easy, through google play store on the tv, install ES File Explorer to the tv, have your movie APK apps on a usb dongle, connect dongle to tv to usb port, find the usb dongle through ES File Explorer, install the movie APK's from dongle to the TV, you're done. That easy.

This TV is awesome. Super easy to set up. Lots of Apps choices. Remote is nice. So glad I purchased this TV. I was actually there for an LG TV and decided on this one instead. Really glad I went with Sony.

Purchased a Samsung 8500 originally. Painful problems with motion and audio drop, Samsung support is useless. This TV is just beautiful. Don't think twice, its worth every penny.

Picture quality is just as expected. We only buy Sony when it comes to tvs because of the quality overall. The sound quality is fair to average though and I was glad to get the sound bar that the sales person at Best Buy recommended.

I always prefer Samsung, all my tv's are Samsung but two of then are broken now i fill was to soon this tv's fail for the money i spend, now i wanted to change to SONY n wow this TV 4K HDR quality picture looks amazing n even the sound is amazing, obviously not sound like a movie theater i need a amp all that etc.. im so happy with my purchases , but now im little sad cause i want to buy another one for my new xbox one s, n they not make this model in 49" :( - which is a perfect side for my room n also to play games , I HOPE SONY see this comment n star making this model ( 49" please thank you ) lol

I've had a few, and always impressed with Sony Televisions for their excellent picture and reliability. So far this 4k TV set has not disappointed me, either.

I have been doing research for months, including visiting BB every week. What I found that I get myself more confused. I was comparing X850d vs Samsung KS8000. Both are great TV. What makes Sony better for me that It is well built, look nicer and works perfect with my PS4. Don't listen to all this people out there who they are talking about input lag, black colors and blah blah blah, It might be true (MAYBE) but you can't tell the difference. Because basically your eyes can't see this. Conclusion: Both TV are great. Go with the one you like more or the brand you prefer.
