Up-scaling and conversion is Sony's bread and butter and it's the best attribute of the X850D. The 4K X-Reality Pro engine is exceedingly good at up-converting and smoothing the HD signal to the native resolution of the panel. If this were not the case, why buy a 4K TV in the first place except to future proof? There still is not enough 4K content to be concerned with, so up-scaling has to be a preeminent consideration. If you don't have any time to make adjustments, try the Cinema Pro setting for nighttime viewing and the Cinema Home setting for daytime viewing.

The TV has great picture quality. Very light and thin. Fantastic purchase. We couldn't be happier.

I love this TV, and I think it's def worth every penny, but I seem to notice it has a hard time adjusting to blacks and things seem kind of grainy when watching an HDR video. Of course it's easy to find the right calibration online for an HDR film or show, but I wish that it would just adjust or have a preset without having to go through this hassle. Additionally, there is a strange grey hue to the screen whenever you're in a dark scene, and you have subtitles enabled. IF anyone knows how to fix that, please let me know. Cause I can't find that solution anywhere.

This TV is simply amazing. Beautiful picture and super thin, it has built in apps, 4k, HDR and more. It replaced my old 58" Panasonic and didn't need that much more space because the frame around the screen is so minimal compared to the frame around the Panasonic. It doesn't take up much more space, but what you get is almost all picture screen and since the picture is incredible, it's a really rewarding visual experience.

This tv is just great. I was looking at this or the Samsung but this tv has more natural color.

This Tv was perfect for me because it had the must have features at the right price.yhe picture is great and the size was perfect for my living room. The only down fall is that TV programs aren't broadcast in 4K yet so when watching sports I still get the 1080 picture which is awesome but not 4K. Hopefully sporting events will begin 4K soon

Overall this is a great TV with smart capabilities and high quality picture.

Recently purchased the Sony xbr65x850d to replace my old xbr 46" from 2007. The connectivity has greatly improved with the increase of HDMI ports and wifi. I do enjoy the convenience of the smart features. Setup was easy. I was able to connect all my equipment. Only downside is the lack of Bluetooth audio connectivity. I would like to hook up Bluetooth headphones with out adding and extra component (e.g. Soundbar.)

Nice picture and interface with sound systrem. Not real flashy and blends with room environment.

I love the way the image on the TV looks and I haven’t even figure out if it’s a 4K resolution or just HD. User friendly and very lightweight!

This is a beautiful replacement television for our family room. The picture quality is awesome.

Great picture, multiple remotes are not needed with this tv. It picked up our blueray player.

The only down fall is it was freezing I the beginning. A lot less now. Awesome for the price though. Love the screen and size. Easy mounting as well

Looked at quite a few tvs and for the price this is a really great picture! Really satisfied!

Purchased 1 then went back to purchase 2 more after I saw how great the picture quality was.

The picture quality is great and the size allows you to see details. Love it at this point.
