Great TV. Great picture quality. Easy to set up. Decided not to go for 4K because viewing distance (12ft) in my room would not make a difference. Two criticisms: 1) I wish that the instructions were a little more clear. There were a few cables that came with the TV that had no instruction or labeling and I had to go the Sony website to figure out and even then I still am not sure what or why I needed those cables for. Turns out it was the IR blaster (not sure when to use it) 2) I bought the Sony sound bar and I still cannot figure out how to control the the sound bar with the TV remote. You would think that since both products are Sony they would sync up. Other than that I am very happy.

Hello MikeP! In order to be able to control the sound bar with the television remote it is necessary to have an HDMI cord connected from the HDMI ARC port of the television into the HDMI OUT ARC of the sound bar, this will allow the HDMI control to take over and allow both devices to be controlled with either remote for basic functions. As per the IR blaster, this device will allow you to be able to control none Sony products such as a Satellite box by using the television remote. Geek Squad is scheduled to come out and look at my tv. It has a cloud in the picture and freezes up. So far in my month of ownership it has not been a good buy. Hopefully it can be fixed so that we can move on and maybe I would change my rating but as of now no good.

Sony no longer is known for making great electronics and now I know why. The tv won’t turn on sometimes unless you power cycle it. It auto dims its brightness which you can prevent by changing some settings, however the picture then looks like crap and basically unwatchable in any dark scenes. The trade off is the brightness noticeably changing automatically. So annoying! This thing is so buggy it’s ridiculous! Had it for 2 years and really wish I could exchange it for something else. Stay away from Sony TVs!

I purchased this t.v. after I returned a vizio e65-c3. I loved this Sony the first night, then the problems started. When I did my inital set up I did all the current updates to the t.v. and the apps, it took a long time to download updates. I didn't time it but it felt like atleast 30 to 45 min. So after all the updates and setting the t.v. up I was gaming on ps now, super crisp no shadows or tracers through several games. I personally thought the picture and game play was far superior to like Playstation plus games or downloaded games from the PSN. I was super pumped!! I purchased the Minions movie to test out the graphics and to set my picture settings when I bought this t.v. The graphics were amazing, I was happy with my purchase. The very next day roughly 8 hours after I turned the t.v. off. I went to turn my PS4 controller on and it wouldn't link back up with the t.v. , so I did some Internet surching and found a way to reset the remote. So I did that and nothing, I kept trying to reset the controller and nothing. I ran down to Best Buy and returned it and got another controller with a usb 2.0 charger. That way I could link the controller up to the t.v. directly. New controller wouldn't link up either. I did some more research and came across someone who was having similar problems, it suggested that I reset the t.v. it self. So I did that when the screen became viewable I re synced the controller and bam that worked, I was ready. I went to look for the PS now app , it was gone. OMG!! Went to my PSN account and tryed to re download the app I got a message saying that I couldn't l couldn't access the content because my PSN account was linked to the t.v. BUMMER So I was willing to give it up because the picture and the smart interface was so cool. I could play the google games so I was ok without the PS now plus its expensive its 20 a month. So I'm on like day 4 and I'm listening to Pandora and it shuts off mid song and kicks me back to a sign in screen. Man!! This t.v. is frustrating me. Day 5 every time I turn the t.v. off and back on I have to sign in to Netflix like I've never signed in through the t.v. app. Day 7,8 and 10 the sound would cut out and come back on 15 to 20 seconds long. Day 11 sat unused all day . Day 12 my family and I watched a Blu ray on my PS3 and roughly 30min in the screen goes black but you could still hear the voices from the movie. WTF!!! I've had enough. Day 13 returned. So disappointed, I'm a sony hose hold. It seemed to me from my experience with this piticlur t.v. if you can't afford to buy the best models Sony makes, go with a different t.v. Best Buy has been great through the whole experience and I'm glad I purchased from Best Buy, please keep in mind I followed there return policy to the T. Before 14 days no questions asked. Gotta really dig this monitor. Wifi, Bluetooth, and Android tv. Took a bit to get the feel of the remote and options however once done the remote interface feels intuitive enough. The PQ is second to none for 1080p. If money was no option I'd spring for an OLED however for my budget I can say I'm satisfied. I had to reset the remote once in a week, the vertical banding and DSE has to be sought out to be noticed and is never a distraction. The phone remote is OK and really negates the need for the other one sold separate for this model. The motion control seems avg with the options I've tried on various web site suggestions. I'll start saving for a 4K for the future but for right now this one is a keeper. Why the 4 stars... Well 3d is avg at best, android tv while functional is not optimized as of this time as well as the fore mentioned issues. BTW kudos to BB for removing my old MITS 65" and setting up the Sony.

TV lasted 4 years and then would not turn on. Infamous six blinks on the power indicator and it goes black. Thought Sony was better than this.

I have had this TV for 9 days and thus far it is a great TV. I think it has a great picture and a lot of features. The only thing that I can truly complain about, is after I did the update the Netflix app stopped working. The other apps that I have tried seem to be working fine. Over all I love the features and have enjoyed using this product.

I originally purchased a Samsung but Best Buy realized they didn't have it after trying to deliver it twice. After all, this TV has about the best picture quality of ANY non 4K tv out there. Definitely recommend!
