I have no regrets on getting this tv. Love it. My family also loves it.

We aren't tech or tv aficionados. I like it because its the width we wanted and it fit our pre-determined wiring. Must say that it has great color and we use the apps. Can I tell the difference between this and a Samsung. No way.

Honestly surprised by all the great reviews here. This TV was a big disappointment for me. I did a ton of research before settling on this TV. Ultimately it's a Sony with great specs on paper and a very reasonable price for a 4k set. The problem is it does perform near as good as the specs would suggest. Pros: The smart features work well. The application and interface for Netflix and the other add-ons is easy to use. I find myself using it often instead of the Apple TV. Cons: The picture quality is far below what I expected from a 4k set and it's worse than the competition. I fully understand what 4k is and that the set is only capable of displaying it if the incoming content is 4k. In watching true 4k (ie Netflix "House of Cards," YouTube content), the picture quality is good. Dark, but good. When watching regular HD content, which is 98%of the time, the picture quality is not good at all. Almost to the point where you question if it's even HD at all. It's somewhat grainy and just not sharp at all. My old 1080p DLP set and old plasma set look significantly better. I have tried everything... Countless picture settings including the ones recommended by experts, Direct connection to content source (ie cable box) vs passthrough my Denon receiver, update software, HDMI cables, etc. You name it, I tried it. Additionally, the picture is dark regardless of what you do with the brightness settings. The blacks are not very black. These two things make nighttime viewing unenjoyable. It doesn't have local dimming, which actually turns out to be a big deal. During a movie opening credits, the entire screen gets a little brighter every time a word / actors name flashes on the screen. It's really strange and annoying. All in all, my mistake was not returning this TV. There are way better options out there. I should have bought a higher end non-4k.. Better picture, less money. For 4k, I have a friend with a Samsung and another with a Sharp, both are far superior to this Sony. Perhaps the more expensive Sony 4k sets are better, but as for this one, I recommend looking elsewhere...
