Broke after 3 years!

Upgraded to 4k 65"
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this Sony 4K 65" three weeks ago and so far I love it. I've had two Sharp Aquos sets and really enjoyed them so I was hesitant to switch brands. Most of the reviews for Sony were good and I liked reading that it was easy to set up and the remote was intuitive. I set this up my self including the Sony sound bar I bought with it. It took my about an hour to do both and i easy to do. I love the picture quality, the remote is very user friendly, the sound bar sounds fabulous and I love all the apps that come with the TV. The picture quality is a little gray and blurry if you're looking up at it from below. It's much better, almost perfect for the price I'd say , looking at it straight on or from the side. Colors are vibrant too. All in all I'm very pleased.

Can't get it right
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am presently waiting for my third delivery of this same model because the two previous ones had major issues. Not sure why a third one will be any better. Right now I can not even get the "Smart" part of this TV to come on. Every time I had to return this tv I received a credit because it keeps dropping in price. Pretty sure I will just be trying to get my money back and buying something else.

Good, basic 4k TV from a well-known company
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a Samsung LED for over 5 years and I have to admit that I loved the crystal clear "soap opera effect" that many don't like. But I also have to admit that the colors on the X810C are better, more vivid, and this tv doesn't even have the Tri-Luminous display. I'm still getting used to it, but I do like it a lot. Some of the best, most vivid 4k content out there is on YouTube and this TV shows it wonderfully. I like to watch 4k travel videos and when I I watch them with my wife, I ask her "Where do you want to go next?" Because with a screen this large and with a picture with such intense (sometimes startling) detail, it's like being there. I didn't want 3D technology (too gimmicky). I was on a budget, and the Vizio doesn't play 4k YouTube videos. My only complaints is that some of the advertised features were either non-existent (Sony said it would carry Ultraflix, but it's nowhere to be found) or glitchy (the screen-mirroring didn't work well with my Galaxy Note). But otherwise for the budget, this is a great starter 4k TV for those who don't want 3D and from a well-known electronics company. That being said, I do recommend buying the geek-squad service because lemons do get by inspection once and a while.

Excellent TV!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was choosing a 65 inch 4K TV. My choices were between LG, Sharp, and Samsung. Sony TV was not even under consideration because I thought it was out of my budget. 65 inch TVs are all a bit pricy but with the year-end discounts and sales they were lighter on the budget. I did my homework and noticed that only SONY TVs have 120 Hz restore rate. The other brands would have only 60 Hz on the entry level, or would be substantially more expensive for 120 Hz models. With all similar features, it was not a brainer to chose this SONY TV. The set up was easy, right from the box. Everything was working great, and all menus were intuitive. Upscaling is amazing, creating a sharp picture from any source I tried - TV Antenna, USB, Youtube. LG has only one USB port, but this SONY TV has 3 USB ports which I also like a lot. The sound is good a well. It seems to me that for the entry 4K model, this TV is hard to beat. All other models with 120 Hz are more expensive.

Fantastic TV and Picture!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a fantastic television for the money. I replaced a high end 50" Samsung Plasma HDTV for something more modern. This Sony was easy to setup out of the box and walked you through setup which took about 20 minutes or so over wi-fi including all the updates. The quality of the picture meets and exceeds what my plasma TV had which I was worried about. The remote is easy to use. The number of menus on this SmartTV can be overwhelming and could be someone intimidating, but I futzed around with everything over a few days and managed to find my way through where I needed to go to adjust audio and picture settings. I've paired this with a Sony Receiver as well. I also use the new AppleTV and have a PS4 and Xbox 360 i've hooked up. With CEC on the TV, Playstation 4 and AppleTV, turning on any one of these systems turns the TV on/off, the receiver and system (all automatically) with the exception of the Xbox which I've had to plug directly into the TV to be able to switch inputs to use. With CEC I can pretty much use any remote from any of the systems to navigate and adjust any of the components. Loving the TV so far...no problems what so ever.

Great 4k TV for the price!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After a week of research I decided on this television. I went to two different Best Buys and both recommended this television over the Samsung UN60JS7000FXZA that I was also considering at the same price point. I was told that the Sony has a more natural color reproduction and better viewing for darker rooms. The Samsung is brighter and colors are more saturated, a lot of times over saturated. This can probably be adjusted somewhat, and is obviously a personal preference. Also, when viewing these TVs in the store, you only see the 4k content. What about everyday content like cable or Satellite? From reviews I have read I concluded that Sony's new X1 processor did a better job of upscaling content than its Samsung counterpart. This was a big part of my decision since there isn't much 4k content yet, and I primarily watch television anyway. After spending a day with this TV I can say, at least in my eyes, it does a really good job. I have AT&T U-verse and the HD content coming in at 1080i looks incredible! I'm sitting back about 7-8 feet from the screen. I also watched a couple of YouTube videos in 4k and they also look great! I haven't really played too much with the Android interface yet but is seems responsive and I like the fact that you can download apps from the Google Play store. The TV has about 8GB total built-in storage and about 7GB available from the get-go. All in all, I am completely satisfied with this purchase and would definitely recommend this television to anyone looking to jump into a 4k television without breaking the bank. BTW, we replaced a 4 year old Samsung LED, which was moved to another room.

Its an good TV i Love it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.i did a lot of research before i bought a TV. I wanted a 65 4K and did my research i wanted a samsung or lg but then sony came in play and it won. For the price range i was looking i got most TV for my money. I am completely satisfied. The picture is great i love it, the sound could be better but is so skinny they cant put anything bigger. And a plus it has android TV on it i can use it to download apps and games. You can play games with an PS4 controller i think that is pretty cool, and the appearance of the TV is good too. And my friend bought a Samsung 65 curved and i am happy with the decision i made not one regret.

Didn't last 3 years.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I thought Sony was supposed to be a quality brand. The motherboard goes out on a TV less than 3 years old and Sony is doing nothing about it. What a waste of money and what a shame to see a brand that had a reputation for quality fall so far.

Excellent 4K for those on a budget
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Awesome picture. Need to sit within 4-7 feet, otherwise picture display loses 4K clarity. Has new X-1 chip that was absent in the 800B. Chip provides better color enhancement. If 3D is important, this is not your TV. But if you're on a budget, IMHOP, this one is worth a look and well worth the price like all Sony's XBR series.

No signal
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best Buy would not deliver this product with the other products I purchased even though I paid the delivery fee (why I don't know) so I picked it up at the store and set it up and now I am getting no signal on the tv. I call and now they want to charge me $100 for a geek to come out.

Already broken
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Apparently this tv requires a replacement part already. Sony's customer service is terrible, and I'm incredibly frustrated by the entire process. A month and a half of being able to use the tv isn't exactly ideal.

Great and beautiful
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When in to BestBuy to purchase a 65 inch vizio to my disappointment they're out of stock. However the sales rep, Jordan did a great job in working with us on this Sony 4k. I already knew that Sony was a great product, and are at the top of their game. Not to mention that has PlayStation now built into it, Android TV, 3 USB ports, four HDMI port, a stunning picture, Just looks beautiful! Jordan did a great job on fixing a situation that seem to be disappointing and made it very exciting! Spend the extra money and get a better name, get the better quality, get the better product, and you will not need to upgrade in a few years, you will already have the technology in your hands. Sony is a name that cannot be beat. Don't sell yourself short spend the extra bucks. I read a lot of these negative reviews here and people need to understand that when you make a machine not all of them are always going to work as you hoped machines break down things happen. This is a great product that does not bring any disappointment to the table well done Sony. :)

Knowing if 4k up scaling happens
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the price and the size of the tv it was a good choice but my issue is what is on the box "Upscale everything you watch" how do I know it is really up scaling the image? The included manual does not help much on tv settings for 4k. After searching the setting I had to put the tv in cinema pro and could turn on 4k mastering but when I hit the display button it shows 1080i still. The only one I can tell for sure it is 4k is when watching netflix ultra HD movies or shows. I also have my ps4 installed to it but the display only say 1080p. How do I know it is really upscaling, just faith?

Wanted to love it -- BUT ...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First let me say that the picture is flat out gorgeous (once the settings are adjusted from the factory defaults, which are a bit washed out looking). The upscaling from HD to UHD seems to work fairly well, though other sets do a better job, according to professional reviews. So why only two stars? I have two problems with the set, which resulted in my going back to Best Buy to replace this set with the comparable set from Samsung. The remote control operated erratically. Sometimes the set wouldn't start. Sometimes it would turn on and then turn off immediately. And most irritating, sometimes the set would actually reboot itself while watching a program. But the biggest problem was from light edge bleed. The bleed was so bad that the black bars you would have at top and bottom when watching a letterbox BluRay actually looked gray. And the light would even bleed into the movie picture itself. The upshot of this is that the black levels in a picture are very poor - blacks end up looking dark gray. From the online research I have done, this seems to be a problem with some sets. What is weird is that even the same model set can have light bleed problems that are different from set to set. Obviously, there are a lot of people who love this set and presumably didn't have the problems I did. Maybe I got a lemon. The good news is how great Best Buy is to deal with. They exchanged the set for the Samsung without any hassle. And they are delivering the new set and picking up the Sony. So, kudos to Best Buy, but I cannot recommend this Sony set. Buyer beware.

Great Colors, but Clouding Made Me Return It
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a 75 inch Sony and bought this 65 inch for my bedroom. I love my KDL75W850C and after this was first hooked up, I loved the picture. Sony's seem to have a better colors than others in my opinion. However, when night came, that is where the issue came. Around all four corners there was a clouding in dark scenes. In daytime, you can't notice it much, but at night, it looks really bad. The center of the screen was black, but the corners were more grayish. Since I will be using it primarily at night, I had to return it. Looking online, some others have the issue with the 65 inch. Not sure how prevalent this issue is. I read the 55 inch has a different display, and doesn't have this issue.
