Excellent TV for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just purchased this tv to replace a smaller Sony that we had in living room. The picture is great. It is lightweight & I was able to setup by myself. The associates at bestbuy were very cool to deal with & they did price match a competitor who had this model for $1499.

Excellent Picture Quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I shopped around and researched online for quite a while. Looked at all the usual brands, Vizio, Samsung, Sharp. Decided on this Sony. Very Very good picture quality. Great for sports, movies and everything else in between. Picture looks especially amazing when watching sports and it's connected to an Antenna.

Great TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I originally went into Best Buy to purchase a Vizio or Samsung 65" TV. The Vizio was $200 less that the Samsung or Sony. The Sony had a much better picture than either the Samsung or Vizio. The Best Buy Geek Squad installed my TV and did an excellent job. Mounted the TV on the wall, hid the wires behind the wall and hooked the TV up to Direct TV and my surround system. The picture and sound together are awesome together! The stand alone speakers in the TV are also acceptable when you don't want the sound blaring through the house. Again, the picture is awesome #sports and TV programs#. Very happy with my purchase and did get the 5-year warranty with the system. You never know when you need it.

Wow Factor
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Went through all the reviews here and on other sites. Sure there are negative reviews but like any other thing you buy lemons exist. They are just a small percentage though. My TV had none of the bad issues. No ghosting, backlight bleeding, judder or anything else reported. Guess I got lucky. The picture has the wow factor. I'm impressed. Not great out of the box but with a few adjustments it is gorgeous. Don't be influenced by the few negative reviews. This TV is a winner. You will need a soundbar. Like all these TV's the sound is horrible. The touchpad remote that comes with the 850c can be downloaded to your iPhone for free in the app store. It even has the voice search.

Best 4K TV!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The picture is so perfect that I did not have to adjust the settings, after first turning it on. The updates took about 30 minuets to download. Very easy setup. No issues like other people posted. No negative issues to report. TV works great with Sony receiver and Sony Tower Speakers!!. I am running straight cable with no box and every channel is much clearer especially the 1080p. Netflix and Amazon Streaming is Amazing !!

Sony is the best 4k on the market!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have tried almost every 4k tv at best buy and this Sony has blown me away. The Best Buy team in Chattanooga, TN went above and beyond to make me happy. This tv has great clarity and the picture when watching movies is perfect. Buy this tv today!!!! Nate is the store manager and is an awsome guy that will help you find your perfect tv.

Excellent picture
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The TV is only a week old for us, but so far so good. The upconversion on regular HD is done very well with Sony. The picture is so vibrant you feel like you are actually in the scene. The sound is okay, but to make it a theater, you really should hook up to a receiver and surround sound. Even the old PS3 platform works well with this system. Excited for more 4K content to be available!!

Amazing 4K Upscaling!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Besides features noted in other reviews, this TV does a fantastic job in upscaling low quality non-HD content (e.g. SD) . Some Indian channels/ youtube movie videos are not available in HD, Sony XBR65X810C does a impressive upscaling job. I had initially purchased the 55 inch TV assuming that SD content will look worse on a HD TV, but was pretty impressed with the upscaling and went for the 65 inch model. Also, 65 in model is better when viewing at an angle because of the IPS panel vs. VA panel on the 55 inch model.

The Wow Factor!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Before this purchase I compared every TV in this category and price range. What I found was Sony uses the same high quality components in ALL their TVs not just the high end series like the other brands and it shows. The picture just pops and is stunning even with an IPS board vs the VA board. You have to spend $500 more for the same quality and picture with the other companies. All 3 of my Sony TVs have lasted over 10 years even my Bravio LED 1080p. This was truly a no brainer Movies look so much better and there is zero ghosting or lag with sports. Paired this with my Sony Sound Bar and the look and feel is like being in an IMAX theater. 55" to 65" looks like our screen doubled in size without losing quality.

Excellent Picture Quality and Color!, Great Price!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is our first 4K big size TV. We witnessed an excellent picture quality and colors. We don't see any major difference when compare with HDR TVs. Audio is clear. My son enjoys playing P3 games in Play Station Now (Bought Sony Game Dual Shock 4 Controller separately), added advantage along with Google Play games (Bought Logitech Wireless F710 game controller separately). 4K Upscale works perfect for me. Didn't notice any motion blur yet. Areas need Improvement: Bluetooth headset enhancement, Browser enhancement (still able to play videos on flash web page like CNN). Finally, we are happy with Sony 4K Bravia 65" LED TV purchase.

Love Sony, but.....
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is not my first Sony TV purchase, I've been a local customer for many years, so it was a no brainer to purchase this TV. The picture is beautiful when it is there, which is not always the case. I have had the TV for a couple weeks and the picture disappeared on me twice with only the sound is still on. When this happens the remote doesn't work either, everything just freezes. The only way I can get it back is to unplug the AC power and plug it back in. Hopefully this doesn't keep happening.

The Witcher 3 looks incredible!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I went to the store 90% sure I was purchasing a Samsung 8000 or 8500. I met with sales associate and I was very impressed his knowledge and genuineness. Needless to say he provided me with a wealth information. So a long time Samsung purchaser I made the switch to Sony. Easy to unpack and setup less than 45 minutes. Once turned on I was immediately impressed with the picture then I turned on the Xbox one and "whappo" I am very close to 50 years old and I felt like a kid looking through the Gimbels store window at Christmas. The colors were amazingly vibrant and the movements were smooth. Glad I bought this tv and plus saved $400 buccaroos

Overall satisfied
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this TV because of the great picture on the in-store display, the Android operating system and overall solid reputation of Sony TVs. Coming from a Panasonic plasma. The first of this model I bought developed a vertical band of distortion on the right side of the screen. It would come and go but absolutely a concern. I was literally 1 day from the 30 day return period. Best Buy exchanged it with little hassle, including free pickup and delivery. If I had been outside of that 30 day period, I'd have had to of dealt with getting it fixed under warranty through Sony... not something I wanted to do on something I just spent over a thousand dollars on weeks earlier. I had not purchased the extended warranty through BB, kinda figured it's a gimmick, since these things should last. But alas, they do not. Electronics are hit & miss these days. BB let me buy their extended 5 year warranty on my replacement, because I don't want to have to deal with that again. Not really impressed with having to exchange a new TV, but it happens, it worked out so I'll move on. There is some clouding and dirty screen effect on both units I had, it's only noticeable on gray & black images (loading screens on games, movies, etc) but it doesn't affect regular viewing. In a bright room, very dark scenes are almost impossible to decipher, brightness on this TV isn't it's strength. Closing the blinds mostly fixes this, so it's not a huge deal to me. Android operating system... Overall, it works great. Pretty responsive, intuitive. Easy to use. But once in a great while, the TV will just lock up and stop responding. I gotta crawl behind the stand and unplug it to reset it. Once every other month this seems to happen. A nuisance but something I've become used to in using other Android devices. The ease-of-use and ability to customize menus & actions offered by it FAR offsets this issue for me. Changing the picture settings can be simple or you can get in-depth for some hardcore tweaking. The picture on this is pretty good straight out of the box, far better than other sets I've seen. Very happy with the picture after a few tweaks. Overall very vivid colors. Lag is no issue with gaming. Motion blur is no issue in gaming, sports, any viewing. Speakers are typical flat-panel speakers. They work. They aren't great. They aren't unbearable. Doesn't come with the "smart remote" but the one included is basic and functional/easy to use. Everything has it's issues, I've noted mine. The picture quality and overall usability of this far offsets the bad. Highly recommend. Also recommend the extended warranty... hate that this is something to spend even more money on, but that's how things seem to be built these days.

Excellent LED TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Don't be afraid to purchase this TV (a steal at the current preice of $ 1099.00) But I will tell you right off the bat, it's going to take a few things for you to set the TV up correctly... Setup: First thing to know about this TV is it will require tinkering with the picture settings/mods for you to get the picture right. I will admit, at first I would have given this TV 3/5 stars d/t the darkness and general lack of color quality. Then I did some investigating... I first tried the calibration settings recommneded by rtings.com but I was still unimpressed. Then I hit the jackpot at AVSforums.com for Sony 810c owners only and I found everyhing I needed to get the picture and sound quality perfect. For General TV/Netflix/Streaming your going to want to change the picture mode to Custom and change to the settings listed here http://www.avsforum.com/forum/166-lcd-flat-panel-displays/2222194-official-2015-sony-xbr55x810c-xbr65x810c-4k-android-tv-owners-thread.html Note about HDR: Sony updated this TV and HDR is available, but it is not the FULL HDR 10 that the TV complanies finalyl agreed on last year for a standard. But you are still getting a great picture here. One qustion I aksed myself while I was at BB was, "is it worth spending $1900 for the Samsung 65 Quad Dot 4k TV when I could have this one for $1000 less. So far I am going to say NO". I love what this TV does for me. Picture settings: Here are those settings Auto Picture Mode - Off Brightness - 18 (45 is the orginal, but I use 18, 45 is just to bright) Color - 73 Light Sensor - off Advanced Settings: Brightness - 45 Contrast - 95 Gamma - -1 Black Level - 50 Black adjust - off Adv. contrast enhancer - off Color: Color - 73 Hue - 0 Color Temperature - neutral Adv. color temperature - not adjusted Live color - Low Clarity: Sharpness - 52 (they list 60, but it will appear grainy if that high) Reality Creation - Manual Resolution - 65 random Noise Reduction - Auto Digital Noise Reduction - Auto Motion: Motionflow - off Cinemotion - Low There is a settings for Sports but your going to want to change that and edit it to something with higher color to give your TV more vivid colors instead of just super bright colors. Gaming: For gaming on my Xbox One, youll want to go to game mode and use the same settings for calibration. Thought Youll want to turn off cinemtion for gaming and youll want to turn motionflow to custom. After doign all the above tweaks I had absolutley no ghosting for gaming. I used The Matrix and Star wars VII as my testing sources both Streaming and Blu Ray to rule out any judder lag. I am glad to say that there was no judder at all! Smart Features: Andoid TV is great. After logggin in with my google account everyhing syncs via the Google world and your all set to browse. The base apps work well, but even downloaded ones like VUDU work great! Do yourself a favor and download the andoid tv remote app on your smartphone, this will make everyhing a breeze! Sound: Let's not get carried away here, the TV Sound Speaker is what you would expect, basic with no depth. But it's not bad for a TV speaker. I have everything hooked up to my optical yahmaha reviever that is 12 years old and it still sounds crisp! My wife and kids are very happy with the picture and best of all I was able to get the TV Open Box for an even better bargain. I do still have to contact SONY and reqeust for a remote though, as Best Buy lost the remote they said was in the package! They did supply a universal remote, but It's just not the same.

STUNNING 4K PICTURE... but....
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've always and will continue to be a Sony guy. Sony has always set the standard on quality displays and this WILL NOT disappoint! vibrant, rich colors, 4K content looks amazing on this model! even standard blu-rays and playstation 4 gaming gets the upscale touch and just looks overall sharper and with better detail (i owned a 2014 model 55 inch led bravia so my comparison between models is pretty recent). the only thing that prevents me from putting this to a perfect 5 score is that on my second day i owned the tv, this is a smart tv running on the android operating system, i am not a fan of this OS as the android app home screen freezes to the point of me not bring able to switch hdmi inputs and having to unplug the tv so it'll reboot. this might (and i hope) be an isolated incident and hope Sony releases a patch that would prevent this freezing problem from occuring again. overall, the quality of the XBR models are the best of the best, you will be very happy with what you'll see here... now lets just hope it won't freeze again.

Sony has work to do!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I looked over all the reviews before making a purchase. It came down between this TV and another. I chose this as my last TV was a Sony and had lasted me years! Picture was amazing, sound for stock was good but I hooked it up to my home theatre right away. Setup was easy, even calibrated it with setting from online. Controller is decent. The problem I saw online and see on this TV is the light bleed issue from the sides and corner. Basically when the screen should all be black you see a white blur screwing up the black. When it's not dark or black on the screen everything is perfect but throw a dark background on the screen and it gets annoying real quick! I'm debating if this is enough to make me return it. It's just sad that a company like Sony, who knows full well about this, has not recalled these models that have this issue as it seems very common. I expected better from them and may look to jump to a different brand soon!
