I always liked Sony products however, for some reason this TV did not suit me the picture was not very good. And natural I tried all the adjustments possible and could not get the picture as good as the I am used to, and also because of the new sound system built into the Sony TV. I could not use my sound bar which has a base tone box the Sony TV does not have any kind of base tone because the sound is projected through the screen which may be a good idea. In some cases but not in mine also the fundamental programming things like moving around getting Netflix getting prime or any of the other streaming products was very difficult with the Sony TV and I have a wireless headphones which I paired up with the Sony TV that also was difficult getting it on and getting it off and returning to the normal sound. All in all, most all Sony products are very good and I have several that I like. It is just this TV that didn't get along with meI don't think it was user friendly

      Hi Cowboy,

We're sorry to hear that you're having issues with this TV. We apologize for the inconvenience. You can configure various settings related to the TV display such as color and brightness for picture quality, or screen size and sound. The actual display may vary or some settings may not be available depending on your model/country/region and the content you are watching. Press the (Quick Settings) button on the remote control, then select [Settings] — [Display & Sound] — the desired option.

With our Acoustic Surface Audio+ technology, sound comes directly from the centre of the screen with powerful actuators behind the TV vibrating to create acoustics that move with the picture.

    Best Buy Purchase Headaches

TV was ordered as an Open Box - Excellent condition. Did not come with Remote, Power Cord, or instructions. Finally was able to purchase appropriate power cord along with compatible universal remote, and TV blinks red 5 times and cannot turn on. Basic research shows this to be an internal malfunction. My assumption is the TV was never actually turned on and tested as physically it looks fine. Started the return process, took time off work to be here for the return and it was cancelled and rescheduled. The purchase experience has been absolutely abysmal and while the workers inside the store were solid, not a single other online or phone resource besides them has had any interest in getting this resolved in a timely manner. The product itself may be sublime, but purchase it elsewhere.

Was told this was top of the line. Within first month mother board went out. Called total tech to come out and help it took one month but they came out and replaced the mother board. Three weeks after that the wifi card the picks up internet went out and had to get that replaced. Now two weeks later the T.V just turns off and on by itself and does not work. Need to have them come out again to try and fix. Not sure why they won't replace. I have 10 TV's through Best Buy and would never get this Sony product again. Hopefully they will allow an exchange for another product after this 3rd try to get this TV running.

      Hi Charles,

We're glad you like the picture quality when watching 4K content. It's unfortunate that you are not having a complete experience when viewing non-4K sources. The XR65A80J is equipped with an XR 4K Upscaling feature. However, upscaled, simulated, and enhanced 4K images will vary based on source content and settings.

Bought an A80J 65" today from Best Buy worst TV buying experience of my life. Started fine, great sales person who was knowledgeable. Got it home mounted it and noticed it was missing the Sony badge on the front. Just 2 holes where it should be. Called BB and can't be connected to the store only a call center. They can't even see my purchase because systems sync versus live. No help at all. Messaged with Sony no help again. Decided to at least turn it on and see what it looked like...dead pixels about 6 I could see in a black background. Tool it down boxed it back up and drove 20 miles to return it. Disgusted is an understatement at this point. Old TV is back on the wall!

This is not a review of the TV set itself - that will be done once I get my replacement. I bought the 65" version at BestBuy in West Hollywood yesterday. Upon opening the box I immediately noticed that the screen had NO protective film of any kind - the unit was just placed into the styrofoam and box. Then I noticed two small scratches on the screen. So it was very clear that the unit was Open Box and had already been sold previously and returned. I did however NOT buy an Open Box unit but a brand new one. Very concerning practice Best Buy!

My Sony TV did not work properly. There was some type of software issue. We noticed it first when it wound not connect to Apple play. The installation team recognized there was a problem. The picture quality was disappointing and not what I expected from Sony. Best Buy planned to replace it but we chose to exchange it for a similar LG TV.

      Hi MW254,

Thank you for sharing your feedback and experience using your A80J OLED 4K Ultra HD Smart Google TV. We are sorry to hear if our product did not meet your expectations particularly with picture quality and unexpected app related issues. This is not the experience we want you to have. We value your input and appreciate the feedback. Some of these issues can be fixed by simply restarting the TV. To do that, simply press and hold the Power button until Restart appears on the TV screen, and then press Enter to restart it.

You can also configure various settings related to the TV display such as color and brightness for picture quality, or screen size to improve your viewing experience. Additionally, picture quality depends on the signal and content. For reference, you may access this link for some helpful information: https://helpguide.sony.net/tv/iusltn1/v1/en-003/01-03-09_01.html.

It's unfortunate that the unit had to be returned. Please note we have a customer hotline that is happy to assist you and help troubleshoot any concerns you have, and your TV has a 1-year warranty from the date of purchase.
We do hope you will reconsider our brand and give us another chance at bringing the theater experience to your home.

      Sincerely,
      Jess Sony_US

purchased the Sony 65" Class BRAVIA XR A80J OLED TV, and I couldn’t be more impressed with its performance. From the moment I set it up, the picture quality blew me away. The OLED display offers true-to-life colors and deep blacks that make watching movies, shows, and even gaming an immersive experience. The Cognitive Processor XR really elevates the image
