    I came from a Samsung TV to the Sony A80L there was a little learning curve, but I love the TV. The only thing is the remote takes a little getting used to coming from Samsung to sony

    SONY tv XR A80L Purchased 2/24 failed 8/24 Sony agreed it was bad and sending new tv via fed ex in 7 to 10 days not happy with delay but at least they are honoring warranty . Best buy will unmount and remount @no charge

    Ok so I've had this tv for about 2 1/2 months. Last night it just powered down flashing red light. After being on hold with sony for almost an hour I'll be getting a replacement unit it sounds like. Still more hoops to jump through tho and not at all what i expected from this pricey sony OLED. Picture was great while tv lasted and sound was decent. I have no faith in this now tho and wish i had bought another LG. Time will tell but I'm not impressed.

    Buy at your own risk

    My TV has an issue where the screen displays a 3mm bar down the left hand side. Sound still works. Sony is aware of the problem, but their is to do a hard reset. Best Buy is no help either. The Best Buy protection plan is worthless !!!! The Sony warranty is worthless. Been 6+ months waiting for an solution.... Buyer remorse...

    Burn in less than a year old

    I dont know what's worse the support from Sony or the reliability of this tv. I have had this tv for less than a year and its already showing signs of burn in. That is unacceptable when I have barely used the Tv as I work in Alaska half the year. Didnt think burn in could happen with so little run time on the Tv when Sony has settings like pixel shift. Its disappointing to see that Sont wont stand by their own manufacturing warranty. Always been a Sony Tv guy but LG might be the way to go.

      Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We understand your concern about screen image retention or burn-in. We're sorry that you had to experience all of these inconvenience with your Sony BRAVIA XR TV. This is not the news we want to hear.

      Image retention occurs due to the degradation of screen uniformity as a result of continuous display of the same screen for a certain period of time. To reduce image retention, we recommend that you turn off the TV on a daily basis for more than four hours using the remote control or the power button on the TV. Images that include clocks and bright colors easily cause image retention. Avoid displaying these types of images for long periods of time, otherwise image retention may occur.

      The good news is that we have equipped this TV with functions that automatically adjust the screen conditions, to protect the TV from screen image retention. Respectively: Panel refresh and Pixel shift to name a few. These functions automatically run according to your TV’s condition or you can run them manually.     Display failure within 30days

    The display on the TV went out and the LED at the bottom of the panel began flashing red and orange. This occurred after less than a month of usage. The TV was no longer functional after this. I’m glad that I had a warranty. I have a replacement due in soon; I’m hoping for a better outcome.

    Seems like it would be a great TV but I unboxed it and nothing I watch comes an HD or 4K it’s all very fuzzy

    Sony TVs are simply the best. The contrast is unmatched and this model in particular has one of the most true colors with several settings you can tweak to adjust the picture to your liking. It has a very easy and relatively quick set-up which is nice and an easy set-up procedure. The build design is fantastic with this model offering solid metal feet. They pop right in. The only con I can see with this set is the brightness. It is an OLED so that is a given but it is fairly low. For me, my room is usually very dim-lit/dark so it works great for me. Additionally, the remote leaves a lot to be desired. No back-lit buttons and this model in particular removed numerical buttons which is just awful. It isn't the end of the world but if you use an antenna, it makes it a bit trickier.
